Minor Trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wilbur</b></div><div><strong>That is a pretty impressive list of "who the hell are these guys"</strong>. I clearly see why you'd have issue with a cheap, veteran, solid, experienced NHL goaltender, when he would have to overcome this intimidating list of inexpensive, inexperienced not-NHL goaltenders. I completely understand why you'd not want your team to give away a valuable 7th pick when they could spend it on another Goaltender to add to this intimating list, instead of a bonafide NHL Goaltender, can't expect Sens management to do something that the management of a team like Tampa Bay would do.</div></div>
That's funny
Trade makes sense because six goalies under contract for 5 spots just isn't enough, lol

Minor Trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wilbur</b></div><div>So what you're saying is there's either going to be a trade or two, or Ottawa is going to have 2 AHL teams in the AHL, instead of 1 in the AHL and the other in the NHL, like they've had for the past few seasons 😊.
Seriously though, that is far too many minor league goalies. Good thing Hoglander was dropped. But for the quantity, there isn't a lot of NHL-quality tenders in the org today.
It is mind boggling how many good goalies have been there. Ottawa has been the envy of the NHL when it comes to young guardien de but, off the top of my head, flash in the pan Hammond, Elliott, Lehner, Bishop and the latest in Driedger (I've probably missed a few names) , so it is possible 3 of these and even Hoglander are NHL stars 3 or 4 years down the road.
I am honestly curious if you are happy with the goaltending going into next season?</div></div>
Yes, and there’s an issue with too many goalies in Ottawa. I’m expecting Seattle to claim one, two in the NHL, two in the AHL, one in the ECHL, and one in junior (Kingston).
Murray is a solid starter, not top10, but capable, Forsberg is okay, but he’s under contract so he’s the backup.
One of Gustavsson or Daccord will probably be selected by Seattle, but if Seattle takes a forward, then one of these two goalies will be traded. Sogaard is playing in Belleville (AHL), and Mandolese should head to the ECHL.
Ottawa is just being cautious about losing a goalie, so they have an extra, and they have enough promise to get some AHL piece in a return if/when traded.
Stalock would be better than Forsberg, but any trade for Stalock would need to send Forsberg the other way, and then Ottawa still has to lose one either to expansion or trade, after the expansion draft.
Gustavsson was pretty decent last season, but I’m really excited about Sogaard.

He already retained 50%, so the remaining salary is now $2.275M. If Detroit retains 50% of that, it comes to... <em>just over $1M.</em>

Depth and Needs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wilbur</b></div><div>Puljujarvi AND Jones for 1 year of Boone Jenner?
Klefbom will start on LTIR, if he ever even come off of it...
DeAngelo has no value, he won't be seen in the league for a few years, if ever...but Kassian would seems be the correct, if not ironic price. He also played with Nurse in the Soo, so would expect Doc to read him the riot act.
I expect Holland's focus will be on big Dmen, like Hamilton.</div></div>
Thanks for the feedback
Klefbom may start on the LTIR - it's a labrum surgery and not that complicated, problem is it's his 2nd one. He should be ready by start of season.
DeAngleo is a huge risk and trading even Kassian for him is risky, he's a player that teams want not for price or points but for what he can bring. NYR got slapped around and teams take advantage of that.
I should have stipulated trade and sign. My bad.
I'm opposed to whale hunting and overpaying for free agents. I'm even hesitant on the RNH contract and the Hyman contract.

Holland Goes Nuts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wilbur</b></div><div>I like your thinking, but throwing that kind of money at a less than guaranteed return comes with massive risk. For 1, Sorokin has only played 1 NHL season, with a comrade for moral and mentoring-support, and behind a very structured, veteran team. As well, he turns 26 in the summer, so he isn't a young pro. At this time there are zero Russians on the Oilers roster (Kulikov will not be brought back).
In comparison, Chris Driedger is 27 and has played well over 2 seasons, he is a Western Canadian and will be a fraction of the cost and will sign a 3 or 4 year deal.
Also, the Oilers prospect pool is so shallow... . They need to keep their picks while they can. When they are Cup contenders, they will really need their youth to come in to provide good, cheap reinforcements when they are up against the cap.</div></div>
Totally agree with that assessment . . . would definitely be a high risk move (and not for one second do I think Holland would ever have the Huevos to do it!) but I'll also add that investing big term and dollar in ANY goalie seems a risky proposition in todays NHL. From one year to the next, teams seem to love or hate those contracts---mind you that seems to extend contracts in ANY position---except that goaltending is such a key position, and mistakes are so glaring!
I'd be worried Driedger is a flash in the pan.

Don't take it personal bud. It's fun seeing different perspectives that people have.
But you've solved Edmonton's depth issues by assembling 2 solid scoring lines, a great shutdown 3rd line, a championship level defence and a solid upgrade in goal. The real beauty is you did it all without moving a single significant piece out and got rid of every bad contract as well.
Expect some criticism.

Speaking of strange things why did you ignore the fact that it could be bear for texy and maybe the very underrated Marody is the unloader for Koskinen?
OP emphasized depth scoring overtly in description
Bear for Texy accomplishes that perfectly 😐
Unclear if Marody can provide that meanwhile
Unloading 41% retained Koski doesn't require much
