Neal represents money in/money out which is reality in a buyers market. He has history there and is easily bought out, but would have value on a rebuilding team for a year.
I am not convinced that Nashville is willing to move Ekholm, but Bouchard is a top level prospect who most Oiler fans will tell you they value extremely. I doubt the Oilers would move him in such a deal, but Poile would take EB and TT on this deal in a heartbeat.
Tullio is the second coming of Brendan Gallagher and Bouchard is the highest scoring OHL first-year draft eligible defensemen in history and played in the AHL Allstar game as a rookie.
This is exactly the kind of deal Nashville is looking to make.

Its only because kase is a younger, less proven player who is injured.</div></div>
Well I could say the same of James Neal, but Chiasson is playing and Neal is not.
The thing is Smith is not what he once was and Chiasson is the same as he has ever been. Plus AC is a UFA and a 6'4" versatile Cup winner and most importantly, the B's were considering adding Chiasson this summer.
I think that ship has sailed, but you never know.

He is clearly better than you think.
Also Senyshyn's advanced stats are meh, but you are entitled to your opinion. Just wondering why he has barely played any NHL games if he is good then.

You clearly don't know who Bouchard or Tullio are. Plus Neal would be on the 2nd line in Nashville today. I high doubt Poile would say no to this.

Cap dump? Kassian is finally playing well on the 3rd line no less and has lots of tread left.
He adds speed and size which most GMs covet. He would easily be the 2nd best RW on the roster.
Buffalo was stupid to let Kahun walk. Edmonton is playing him too high up in the line up, he is a very good 3 LW as evidenced by his track record.
I doubt Buffalo will get a better return, plus Hall has a NTC and will have a say in where he goes.

Barrie at forward because why not
Barrie was +3 last night, why is this even a thing? He has been exceptional after his 2nd week with the team and since being paired with Nurse. Secondary assists means he is extremely effective at getting the puck to the forwards, something this team hasn't seen since forever.
This is just silliness.
Barrie isn't a problem on this team, it is the lack of LW and C depth. As well Jones is better than Lagesson, but the coaches don't trust him.

He moves well in transition and has a lot of good offensive tools and instincts, but he has tonnes of work to do on the defensive side of things.
If he puts it all together over the next couple of years in the AHL, he will be someone to keep an eye on. He has a bunch of untapped potential, the most of all the RHD prospects other than Bouch, so he is really exciting addition IMO.
Here are all his goals from this past season, so you can see what I mean:

You can never have too many RHD.
I am surprised that you don't know this, but then again the Wings have been allergic to Right Hand shooters for many years (until this season), so I guess I shouldn't blame you.
There a few very interesting RHD prospects for sure, but not all of them will make it past the AHL. Of the unsigned RHD only Tuomisto (who I've watched alot of this season at DU) played as much for their Junior National Teams as Kemp. Although Kemp wore a letter for most his time, unlike Tuomisto and that is more of a testament about the player then his stats. Ignore that and you miss a big part of the picture.

It's not acceptable. The only reason Andy is being talked about being moved at all is because of his agent, and Athanasiou has the same agent. It doesn't matter how many additional picks you throw in; it's a total non-starter.</div></div>
I don't spend very much time on this site and I know nothing about the players' agents, etc. I guess this is not an original thought. But Anderson is seen as a potential cheap acquisition by other fan bases because he is seen as damaged goods. A potential low cost acquisition, albeit a high risk/high reward type of situation.
Because he had a terrible year + injuries and the perception from afar is Columbus might want to get rid of him while there is still some potential value. There is a very real possibility that he will never again be close to the player he once was, and it is a very real possibility, as this is something that happens in pro sports ALL the time.
So Columbus may not want to bear the potential risk of wasting time and money on a maybe, while getting back a much better bet, if not a sure-thing. If another team is willing to take on that risk, Columbus may be more than happy to trade the player and the player might also decide his time is up on that particular team.
Speculation, its what fans love to do. Good luck trying to stop fans from doing what they do.....

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>So you are saying Detroit needs Kassian because he is a right hand shot. Glendening and O'Reilly are both right hand shots. Why not keep them and the 3rd round pick? Plus Gagner is a right hand shot and he can play center so resigning him makes a lot more sense than trading 3 assets for a 29yr old winger who just signed a 4yr deal on January 29, 2020. So if it doesn't workout Detroit is stuck with him. I'm sorry I just can't see how this is good for Detroit. Personally I have nothing against Kassian and if the Wings were further a long in the rebuild maybe they accept Edmonton's offer.</div></div>
Kassian is much better than you think, adds an element the Wings don't have, can play up and down a line-up, has played PP and PK and is good bet presence. Glendenning is a 4th liner O'Rielly may never play in the NHL and I have no idea about Gagner's fit in Detroit but he is a bottom sixer who they may not want to re-sign, due to his lack of speed.
Kassian is tradable to teams looking for toughness.

Yzerman certainly has a lot to do this offseason, I just don’t see him trading away many picks/prospects, especially for a player that doesn’t fill one of our main needs or fit into our future.</div></div>
So you don't think you need any Right Shot Wingers in an organization that has exactly zero on the NHL roster and the same number in the AHL?
Alrighty then.

I brought on a few Finn's to help Jesse feel more at home. Christopher Gibson is Finnish, FYI. Jesse knows Kuokkanen very well and Granlund can be a very valuable player, he is definitely superior to Sheahan as a 3C.
Hall has had success with rookie Draisaitl,; an Art Ross-winning Draisaitl + Hall would be an excellent pairing.
The goalies haven't had consistent success, but they have had some and they are at an age that they should reveal themselves as legit NHLers. At worst they are good competition for eachother and provide depth on the farm. At best they are a very good way to save on the Cap.

Glendening isn't worth a 3rd, just like AA wasn't worth a 1st, as I argued in January. Yzerman is a good GM, players will be shaking loose this offseason, I am sure he'll be able pick up D and C's to fill his roster holes.

Right Shot forwards are like unicorns in Detroit. Handedness is important, as it creates a different shooting angle and helps in offensive board battles on the RW. Kassian, unlike AA, is still an effective player when he's not scoring. A team like the Wings can also use some toughness, and Kassian is fast, is basically a hometown kid having grown up in Windsor and will be a Stanley Cup champion come October.
A GM like Yzerman will value that, even if fans do not.
