I’m sure we’d still take the Russian
Idk that WPG should trade him though?

Yeah its not worth it to the Jets to just toss in a guy like Rashevsky for 4th line/3rd pair depth, get those types of guys for mid to late round picks.

Vilardi is better then Buch in my opinion. Blues fans are going to have my neck for saying that but I'm not wrong.

How exactly does this one benefit the Jets? Vilardi has been amazing for us...not sure why they would consider moving him.

Pardon????????????
Vilardi is almost as good and you also want a 1st and a really high 2nd???
EDIT: Vilardi has the exact same PPG as Buch...Just his health is the difference imo

Why? He was decent, that penalty was bs if that's what you're referring to.
He's looked much better lately, should keep him imo.

A Chevy deal doesn't include that many prospects. Pretty doubtful he deals another 1st round pick this year too.

That's fine, I wasn't sure if it would be a body to move money or a spot. I'd be fine with more futures instead.

All In
I can't see Buffalo moving Tuch, he's very likely their next captain.
BUT I gotta ask who is saying this is something the Jets are looking at? Cause this was mentioned to me by a pretty reliable source yesterday so makes me wonder, I still don't buy it though, just can't see Buffalo even entertaining the idea of trading Tuch.
Should keep Stanley, he's looking much better lately and Carrier is too small for playoff hockey, the Jets defense needs to get bigger not smaller.

He's not untouchable, so yeah it's possible. Probably a hockey trade in the summer if anything.

Mantha resigned Ehlers trade
I don't understand the motive for WPG to do that? Ehlers is a pretty big part of their team. I don't think he would cost a significant raise from his current contract. WPG doesn't have an insane amount of expiry's coming up in the next few years. Pionk and Vilardi are both up the same year Ehlers is, but with the cap raises, I don't see how they couldn't make it work.

As a Jets fan, I feel compelled to type: #FreeVille
That said, I don't see this trade happening as Cheveldayoff is really wedded to his prospects. Bowness said that if Heinola didn't get injured he was going to be in the opening night lineup, so the coach likes him. I guess they will be treating him as backup depth once rosters limits are lifted.

Playoffs 2024
I don't think the Jets are trading Schmidt this season, he's a solid option on the 3rd pairing and brings good vibes.
Jets are also not in a spot to acquire anyone who isn't willing to commit to winning long-term. I can't imagine that the Jets front office is going to be interested in a while year of speculation about whether Chychrun will re-sign.
Jets would also be stupid to get rid of both Perfetti and Schmidt, because they would probably also lose Samberg in the process. Samberg lives with Fetts and is buddy-buddy with Schmidt.

It's still only 10 games or so in, so we'll have to wait to make a full assessment. But it has made the Jets a lot more solid at center by having the ability to drop Namestnikov to the 4th line and helping the Jets capitalize on mis-matches there.</div></div>
glad to hear it,but i hate to tell you i told you so,but i told you so.love monahan and i think he will resign with you guys.GO JETS GO!!!!

Trade it all for Perfetti
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>I know that you have a severe case of the "grass is always greener" with Jet players, but for sure Pionk is a top 4 RHD. DeMelo and Dillon aren't ideal, but play well where the Jets have them.
What makes Chychrun better than any of them? He's okay offensively while mediocre or less defensively and is another LHD. Pionk is about the same but a right shot, while Dillon and DeMelo are the opposite, better defensively, worse offensively.
If Chychrun was as good as your saying he would have made Ottawa's defense better, he didn't. While the Jet players are all part of one of the NHL's best defenses.
Tarasenko is okay but a rental.
If the Jets are offered this, they'd be crazy to consider it. You just can't throw away promising young players on rentals and on one year of a lateral move defenseman.
No one is actually giving a top young player for rentals and one year of an average 2nd pairing LHD.</div></div>
I think the Sens issues go far beyond Chychrun's impact on their defense.
Is Perfetti a top young player? Idk man, just not sure they have the lineup to go all the way and with those young guys I mentioned in the system I see Perfetti as expendable, just realized I forgot about Chibrikov so that's five promising forwards in the system and I figure one of Connor or Ehlers gets an extension and Vilardi probably signs a 5 year deal so would trading Perfetti cause the sky to fall? I don't think so and I think he's gonna be a winger, doubt he'll ever permanently move to the middle, if I thought he'd surely be a center I'd be more inclined to keep him but I don't think he's gonna be.
In reality I don't think any GM would give this package for Perfetti.

I think the time to make a decision on Schmidt contract is in the offseason. The problem of doing that now is that you have to replace (just before the playoffs) half of a 3rd pairing that has done well this season.
