No way in hell I trade Strome or Dach...... That is just crazy. Those are moving backwards kind of moves. Everyone else can go from your list. I would try to trade Zack Smith also.

If Green is worth a 2nd and a prospect what is Gus worth
Gotta disagree with some on here. If older and slower Greene is worth a 2nd then Gus is easily a 1st for many teams around the league looking for an offensive D-man.

Chicago TDL Big Moves
The Hawks got a late 1st rounder for Ryan Hartman....... They can get a late 1st rounder at the deadline for Gus. Prices are higher at the Deadline and they could get a 2nd for him now.

Why is it that in every trade scenario the Leafs get more back for almost nothing? My God. I'd hang up the phone if that was what Toronto offered.

They also don't have a 1st this draft so I would move on from them in general.

If I am the Hawks I would take that Carolina trade all day.
The Avs aren't getting Saad that cheap. Jost is on an expiring deal even if he is a RFA and they are Central Division rivals which means they are paying a premium.
I would also take the Buffalo trade in a heart beat.

The Saad trade makes no sense at all for the Leafs. Johnsson and Saad are about equal on the ice. Johnsson has more term and this post has the Leafs giving a first rounder. If anything the Hawks would be adding the pick.</div></div>
No the Hawks wouldn't be adding a pick and retaining that salary. The Hawks would be sellers here and sellers don't throw picks back the other way just because Leafs fans overvalue all of their players. Maybe I can understand if this is a mid season trade but IMO the Hawks don't make a deal like this until the TDL where there is a Buyers market and prices go up.

If the Hawks got a 1st for Ryan Hartman at the deadline then they for sure can get a 1st for Saad. If the Leafs didn't want to pay that then I would say pass and move on to other interested teams.

Much more upside from Strome than Nurse IMO. I guess it would depend what Strome is asking for on his next contract this summer.

idk if you realize this but teams don't have to retain salary to help out the Leafs. The Saad retention makes some sense since you would be giving up a 1st rounder but what are you giving as a incentive for the Devils to retain some of Subban's contract? I don't see enough there.

Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>Hawks should be working on an extension for Lehner. He has said over and over again he loves Chicago and the guy wears his heart on this sleeve so highly doubt he is BSing when he says that. However, if we trade him at the deadline, whether he likes it here or not, he will demand a lot more.
De Haan has now had 5 shoulder surgeries, he's not someone we can count on returning and even if he does, there's a good chance he injures it again. Beaudin is not ready, not a chance he comes up next year. Gus hands down is playing better then Boqvist as of now....that will change in time but as of now Gus is the better player.
Colorado is another team that would love Saad. In fact, basically every playoff team would benefit with Saad which is why alone he's worth a 1st and then some. If Hartman and E Kane got the return they did, it is easily conceivable that Saad would demand a 1st and 3rd on his own for a team that is looking like strong contenders for the next 2 years.</div></div>
Gus is the better player which is all the more reason to trade him. Hawks need to tank for this rebuild. Fire Bowman and Colliton and get a GM with balls enough to make the rebuilding moves needed.

Hawks simply can not afford him thanks to Seabrook’s contract. Trade him while the value is high and get the most back while you can. I have a gut feeling that. bowman won’t trade him at the deadline though.

Agree here except I think Saad and Drouin would cancel each other out. Oak how many years Drouin has left but if it is close to Saad’s Years then you minds well just keep Saad.

Hawks do not need to be adding salary right now with DeBrincat and Strome needing new deals next year. If I trade Gus it would be for prospects and picks. IMO

Ok so your not trading Nylander...... how the hell do you expect to get out of Cap hell once Marner signs his big deal?? Nobody is going to do you a favor and take Marleau either.

big move
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>kzaker12</b></div><div>I like the idea of Nylander wearing the Indian head but you need to add a lot more to that trade for Toronto:
1. Retain a bit on Murphy (helps their cap)
2. Take back Marleau's last year
3. Add the 2020 1st rounder.
With all that, you can probably hang onto Kahun.</div></div>
Leafs are not dealing from a position of Strength..... they HAVE to move a bigger contract out when they resign Marner this off season so they aren’t gonna get full value for a guy like Nylander in that situation.

I’d bet Byram would be gone by 6. He is projected to be a Top 2 Shutdown Defender.... the more I think about it the more I want the Hawks to draft him at 3 spot.
