I actually like most of these moves, I could see CBJ asking for a bit more but otherwise this would be pretty interesting to watch.

Rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wings1</b></div><div>they dont have as much as u think, good draft of players coming in, they will need money. look whats happening around the league, crazy. Minnisota has a bit of money, the two contracts bought were way way to much money at the time</div></div>
They do have as much as I think. We currently have over 9M in cap space without anyone on LTIR. Larkin gets about 2M for a raise. Bertuzzi also about 2M in raises. The retention on Panik and Fran Nielsen's buyout are both off the books next season, that's 1.875M freed up there. The Abdelkader buyout goes from 2.3M to 1.05M next season that's another 1.25M saved. So after those two extensions we have 8M or so in cap space right there. Ned is going to need a raise and that is likely 2M more so we are at 6M now. Maatta and Oesterle are free agents after this season so unless reassigned that's another 3.6M so we are at approximately 9.6M. Both of those players likely replaced by players on entry level deals so let's say that eats up 1.8M, down to 7.8M. Unless Lindstrom has an exceptional year I expect him to get a little over a million raise, so now say we are at 6.6 with the defence basically set. Sundqvist and Erne likely not resigned at all so that gives us another 4.8 so sitting at 11.4M of space. Zadina might get like 1.4 over the next two years so we still have 10M. Suter depending on his play might get resigned for around the same but considering the players we have coming up I doubt it, another 3.25M there. I could see Raymond and Seider both commanding around 8 M each with Raymond likely a little less but I'll go with 8 to play it safe. For the other players needing new contracts at that time, Rasmussen, veleno and Hronek likely don't get much different deals unless they show substantial improvement so we will say an extra million towards them, 12.5M. Perron is a UFA and if he wants to stay for his age 36 year I don't see him costing more than 2M, 14.5M. Kubalik also likely not resigned and that's another 2.5M, 17M. Vrana I don't see getting much of a raise, we will say he gets 6M a year if he sticks around. 16.25M to resign those two, which doesn't seem like that much if they both want 8M but could work. Also a chance Perron might not come back so that's more. Cossa might possibly be ready for a back up roll by then so Husso could be traded and hopefully Fabbri gets traded by then as well. Should be more than enough to ice a good roster but after doing this I understand your concern.

I did, thanks. On another note it was good to see that Malkin and the Pens came to terms. He doesn’t belong in any other team’s uniform.

I think Detroits rebuild is about close to over. The UFA signing this offseason shows they are ready to compete in my opinion.
They have one of the biggest and best prospect pools too. Those waves of prospects are gonna start coming through in a year or two.
Larkin, Raymond, and Seider look like pieces to build around. With Bertuzzi, Copp, and Hronek being nice complimentary pieces. Plus all those prospects that are gonna be coming through.
They should atleast be competitive this season.

8 spots, think that 2nd from Buffalo should be next year. If Washington's pick 52 is there for 41 than keep it and make It Buffalo's 3rd in 2022

Not sure how I feel with this one, with the uncertainty of this year's draft I'm not a fan of making a blockbuster deal to get a top 10 pick. Svech hasn't had an opportunity to really prove himself and if neither a Raymond or Berggren are ready at the start of the season I think he would get middle 6 and 2nd powerplay time, could lead to his breakout season. Just don't think its the right time for this trade

lol who voted no. hes making the lowest amount allowed and they wouldn't have traded for him if they weren't going to sign him. low money 0 risk high upside that maybe he will step up his game if not no harm no foul

He isn't good enough to make the Leafs. His cap is fine as he be sent to the AHL without cap implications. Seems like a roster spot wasted.

I don't think Toronto should have pursued Tavares like this. Way too much money for him. Matthews is going to take even more to keep, and you also have Nylander and Marner to sign as well.

Technically since David Pope can be a UFA on August 15th i think he can only be signed for 2 years instead of 3. Could be wrong but what i read pretty sure they said 2 years only for Pope.

So is he allowed to play this year or not? I read they signed him for next year but i'm not sure if he's allowed to play this year and they're just not playing him until next year or if he's not allowed to play until next year. I don't know a ton about signing rules and stuff, it all gets really confusing. Anyway, i looked up his stats and just because i've never heard of him until now isn't going to make me say he's not a great prospect. I don't know much about him, but i looked up his stats and they look pretty good. It should be a good signing.

I like the Tampa trade not sure Yzerman would though. The trade with the Islanders Bailey is a rental and it wouldn't make any sense to try to resign him with our cap situation. I do like Bellows and Beauillier is ok but Detroit really needs D. I really don't think trading AA is smart at all he has way to much upside. I think trying to trade Nyquist to Nashville is the way to go. They have a couple defenseman that played at the start of the season because of injuries that played very well. I'm a Detroit fan and don't really know if Nyquist is what Nashville is looking for but getting a young defenseman that can play right away for Nyquist is to good to pass up.

well Edmonton needs a goalie and Howard has played well this season. And NJ would be a contender with this trade. If not they will be out after the first round.

I believe halak is a free agent after this season, I am not sure what greens total value will be, but I figured it would start with a 1st round pick.
