Stastny
Too much but Stastny to wpg is smart. A first and dano is probably good enough. STL can retain as well

karlsson to oilers blockbuster
There's no way Ottawa does this, Karlsson is maybe the 3rd best player in the league. The value just isn't there even with this year 1st rounder unless its first overall but I don't see why they want Larsson. Also, I don't think the Oilers could or would do it at the moment that trade would have to be in the off-season, right now it would just mess up their chances at the top of the draft and their going to want a chance to re-sign him so they'd have to trade salary especially with Nurse, Puljarrvi coming up soon but they don't have that many trade-able assets Lucic and Russell are pretty much untradable. As much as I'd love Karlsson the Oilers can't get him without trading one of or both of Lucic and Russell to a different team because the Sens don't want to take on salary and they then'd probably have to include those assets if it wasn't the Oilers that had to give up the assets to get the money off of the books and probably also take back Bobby Ryan, in that case I'd love to see a trade at the draft that looks like (Karlsson, Hoffman, Ryan, a 5th) for (Drai, Kelfbom, Kailer, 2019 1st, 2018nd)

Does this completely ludicrous EK trade work
Replace RNH with Draisaitl and then you're in business.

Next season after Karlsson trade
Replace Sergachev with Dotchin or some other defensive PROSPECT of potential value and make the 2019 1st Conditional so it can be taken back by Tampa if Karlsson leaves, but Sergachev aint part of the deal.

Fair deal for Karlsson
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WinnipegIsGood</b></div><div>I think the only difference is that NSH actually has the assets to go get a guy like Karlsson, where so many teams just don't have the available capital without gutting the big club.</div></div>
Absolutly. Them and TB. But it doesnt mean you should.
IMO the perfect organization model in the cap era is still Chitown. Top tier development and drafting. Solidify your top 6 (the core) and use young homegrown prospects to fill out the bottom 6.
Like that you're actually showcasing them, their stock rises and when their ELC is up, you can trade them for decent picks. It's like a revolving door of drafting, developing, showcasing, repeat.
But where they hit the wall was the extensions to Towes, Kane, Seabrook. A big miscalculation. I believe in loyalty but not to the point of paralysis.
NSH is in a position very similar to CHI. But they gotta use CHI's blunder as a reminder when it comes to managing the cap properly. They don't need Karlsson and his new contract... cause it's gonna hurt when it's time to resign Josi. Don't try to fix what is not broken.

Fair deal for Karlsson
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WinnipegIsGood</b></div><div>I actually think this is a reasonable offer. If you're Nashville, why not go for broke this year and make your top 4 elite with a capital E. Frankly, you could even trade him post-playoffs @ the draft if you win the Cup and recoup some of the assets you just lost.</div></div>
That is an option, but the only downside is (perhaps a stretch) other GMs might play the "I'll just sign him in the offseason, and not lose any assets" card. It's tricky, can't show any desperation to unload him. I think NYR would go hard after EK if they trade McDonough.

So you are saying if the Habs draft a generational talent dman and land the best UFA center is over 20 years, the Habs will be competitive again? I surely hope so.

Moves the Jets MUST make before the deadline
What kinda TDL is this? Not trading two first rounders and top prospect for Zuccarello or Nash? Good work, sometimes being happy with would you have is the best.

Montreal Canadiens - Pens, Blues, Flames, Jets, Yotes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WinnipegIsGood</b></div><div>Sorry but that Jets trade is ugly. There's no way the Jets give up a guy playing in their top 9 AND a 1st round pick for Shaw + middling draft picks. Also, I just don't see the Jets being interested in a guy like Shaw to begin with. There's no way the Jets are better after this trade, and frankly, they are probably significantly worse over the next 2-3 years.</div></div>
There was a rumour out there that Jets inquired about Shaw... And yeah, I got greedy. Thanks for the feedback.

I agree that the Shaw trade is a little over the top, but the Jets have a chance to go really far in the playoffs. They shouldn't hold back. Adding a good PK forward with Stanley Cup experience would be a smart move. Pleks would also be a good option here instead. Also adding a seasoned goalie and a steady defenceman who can deal with the grind once the refs start letting stuff go (and they will) would help them. Not sure Montreal can help with the D and G issue, but Shaw/Pleks would be a smart pickup.
