This will be tragically overshadowed by the David Kampf extension.

(CBJ/LAK/PHI) - 2023 1st (LAK), 2024 2nd (CBJ) for Petersen, Walker, Grans, 2024 2nd (LAK) for Provorov, Hodgson, Connauton
The offseason is indeed starting off with a bang. Pretty fair deal all around. Columbus gets another top/second pair LHD to help with Werenski, parting with a surplus 1st round pick and early 2nd rounder. The price might be a tad steep, but the market was set with Chychrun from earlier this season. Hopefully gets Provorov to bounce back to his good days by giving him a steady defensive parter.
For LA, the numbers are what matter here. They take on an effective $9,212,500 in real money in exchange for $5,625,000 in cap savings in 23-24 and $2,975,000 in savings in 24-25. Taking from its surplus of prospects, moving Helge Grans and 54th overall to create valuable cap space (opportunity cost) to help solidify its team as a true contender in the West.
And for Philadelphia, man does Danny B hit a homerun. Able to move a player that doesn’t fit the culture or window and save those Comcast big wigs almost 3 million is quite the deal. 22nd, 2 future 2nd round picks, and Grans for Provorov and taking on an additional cap space of $900,000 this year and saving $1,750,000 the next? He gets to replenish the picks lost from the Fletcher area and still has key trade chips (Hart, Konecny, Hayes) to play with?

I'd send a third to reunite the Robo brothers, but at the same time I think it would be in the Leafs interest to give him another season, cause the injury bug hasn't let him prove his value.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WorstTradesPossible</b></div><div>I’ll refer again to “…becomes Edmonton’s highest scoring defender.”
Honestly EDM could use the PP specialist after shipping Barrie out, and they don’t have the cap space to go bigger after landing Ekholm. They’d pay a 2nd. Maybe push it to a 2024, but they’d pay it.</div></div>
I'd have to agree with the thread starter here, Edmonton has the same GM that traded 2-2 rnd picks for AA and Green a couple seasons back, also the same GM who put them in this very tight cap situation by making poor decision after poor decision but that's to be expected considering Ken Holland was a GM when Gordie Howe still played

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KSIxSKULLS</b></div><div>Engvall is a great 4th liner. Think this is a good trade for both teams. Islanders get a good 4th liner 5 on 5 and can kill penalties. Leafs get a decent draft pick.
What they did with that pick though is another story...</div></div>
Engvall is more of a fine third liner. He is good defensively (not physical though). Third line wingers score about the amount he does. People think they score more than they do.
