I am going to get the gears for this but would NYI trade Pulock for DeMelo and Perfetti?

With some of the young forwards in our system, I would trade Perfetti for a 1RH. Chych just isn't that guy.

Toffoli on the second line and maybe Iafallo as Appleton's replacement on the 3rd would solidify the forward group.
I think we need a better 7th defenseman but I don't think Dumba is the best choice.

NYI Trade
If Lee is considered a cap dump then so is Schmidt so really its Pulock for Kupari, Stanley, and a 2nd. As a Jets (and an Islander) fan I do not think that is a fair offer.

I think the hit they take is outweighed by the addition of a #1RD which is the biggest need to fill.
The trades proposed are good but I would like to add Iafallo's contract also.

Jets next season
For Rutger to learn the ropes, who better that Lowry and Nino to teach him.
I would like the Jets to trade Kupari and/or Stanley for a veteran 7th dman for the playoffs.
Next year Iafallo, Appleton, and Schmidt should be moved to open up spots for our young guns.

Would he ever waive
Was surprised to see players like Severson and J. Gaudreau sign in Columbus. Don't know what they saw other than a big paycheck. Always liked the idea of Severson and Pulock in a Jets uniform. If Pulock doesn't like his new coach then I would open the vault to get him. Demelo is good but without Morrissey he is just a solid 5-6 dman.

Schmidt besides his cap is playing solid enough for this year. Unless an offer comes in before TDL that involves him(highly unlikely), he will be bought out in the offseason- business decision just like Wheeler.

Tanev not needed especially how the d is playing right now. Lindholm would be an upgrade at 2C. Way better option than Monahan who is really not an upgrade.

That offer is so bad that Montreal's GM would embarrassed to send it to Winnipeg.

If they buy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Andy_Dick</b></div><div>And the Habs have no reason to trade Monahan for anything less than a 1st so there we are! The trade deadline you always overpay as teams aren't banking on some unproven late 1st that might not even make the nhl or even become a staple in your teams window. Monahan will be traded and he is certainly more valuable to a contender than a late 1st. Since when dont late 1sts get flipped? Whos better than Monahan at his price tag of under 1m AAV with retention? If you cant answer those questions then it's simple, he is very valuable on the market whether to the Jets or the 30 other teams that can bid.</div></div>
The point is that Monahan isn't better than our top 3 centers right now. Why give up a 1st or really anything for him?

Winnipeg's TDL deals were getting Namestnikov and Neiderrieter last year. Namestnikov's play was one of the reasons the Jets made the playoffs. I don't think the Jets would of made the playoffs without him. This year he took his play to the next level and has helped the Jets to the top of the league right now. He fits in the style the Jets play right now. Monahan is not an improvement over Namestnikov right now. The Jets won't keep the pace they are playing right now but Namestnikov will continue to bring it. If injuries happen then the Jets will have to either put Vilardi or Perfetti at center or make a trade but I can't see our GM giving up a 1st for Monahan.

Monahan also plays all situations and is extremely good at faceoffs, he also isn't as bad defensively as what some people seem to think he is.[/quote]
So Winnipeg pays a 1st for a guy who is just equal to Lowry and Namestnikov?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>LMAO, Scheifele may be out long term after the injury last night, who is gonna fill his spot? Rumors are that the Jets were already looking for a top 6 center even before the Scheifele injury. Monahan is literally 42nd in scoring amongst <strong>all</strong> centers in the league. Considering there are <strong>64</strong> top 6 centers in the league, he is <strong>definitely</strong> a top 6 center.
As for Barron, he is better than you let on, he very well may be placed below Pionk on the D corps but that doesn't make him a bottom pairing guy, it just means that the Jets RD depth would be vastly improved.</div></div>
Unfortunately being 42nd in scoring for a centerman doesn't make you a top 6 center in the league. That would make Lowry and Namestnikov top 6 also. Lowry is our 3rd line center period and Namestnikov granted he is playing over expections can play in all game situations.

I would like to give Barron a chance to play in Winnipeg but not this year unless we have injuries on the RHD.
No way is Winnipeg giving up a 1st for Monahan at this point. That 1st would be better used on Lindholm.

Jets keep the party Schmidt going next year
If Schmidt is not traded by the last buyout window before next year he will be bought out. $5.9 mil is too much for your 7th defenseman. The 4 mil could be used elsewhere as in keeping Iafallo.

Lindholm seems to be the best choice out there for 2C and I am willing to do a serious offer. Others like Henrique would not be an improvement so no to mid line forwards unless injuries happen.
Like the move you did to move Iafallo to the 3rd line and Appleton to the fourth. How Schmidt and Samberg are playing together, I would not break them up.

Fairly Quiet Deadline
Winnipeg will have to put some players on the waiver wire soon. Adding 2 more forwards will just put more on waivers and maybe screw up the chemistry. Winnipeg will not be trading top prospects or top picks unless it is top 6 forward (preferably a center) or a top 4 rhd.
