One massive trade with Ottawa
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CrownRoyal</b></div><div>Care to actually elaborate?</div></div>
Ottawa is giving up a top 6C (who sure has struggled due to injury, but is still valuable), 2 likely high 1sts, a previous first and a goalie one season removed from a good season for a middle six expiring UFA and a better goalie. That's an awful lot out for the potential of an improved situation in net.

why do hawks fans always have so much to say about overpayments of ufas. Nobody is coming here on a fair value deal. Overpays are a requirement. Both to keep existing players and to bring others in. I get that this player might not be your target but Chicago's going to need to reach the cap floor and overpaying guys is gonna be part of how they do it.

definitely the sabres biggest flaw is their bottom six and defensive game. acciari isnt a fit in PIT, worth a try at that price

(COL/PHI) - Johansen, 2025 1st (COL) for Walker, 2026 5th (PHI)
Moving that 4m next year is an underrated part of this deal. Sure its a 1st for walker, which sounds like a lot, but the Avs do two things in this deal which makes it a lot easier to handle.

Minnesota Wild signed Zach Bogosian (2 Years / $1,250,000 AAV)
minnesota signing a bunch of aging veterans to overpays long before they need to after a beyond mid season is certainly a choice. I really don't understand why there is such strong desire to bring back most of their UFAs when this team already seems like they are stuck.

Lindholm to Boston might happen
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jpetes250</b></div><div>It's gotta be money in-money out. It might be a defensemen, I doubt Lindholm fetches JD at this point.
He's been real bad in VAN, so I'm sure it's going to be somewhat of a bargain.</div></div>
We aren't spending a 1st, spec + just to donate him. That would be idiotic for any GM, and nobody is going to swallow their pride to do that. Even despite his bad play here, his value hasn't dropped that significantly, some bruins fans here are making some bogus offers. Debrusk himself hasn't been good this year either.
While I recognize that there would be a bit of an add on our part to go to Guentzel, let's not humor ourselves with thinking he has lost 1/3 of his value in 14 games.

Lindholm has been so bad here. While I wouldn't add Raty (the overall price of the deal would be rediculous), adding a 2nd to move on from a player that hasnt worked is something I would do.

You think Jarvis will get a term deal? Of course more money is on the table if theres term. Wondering what that would look like. Necas as a higher end Tippett comparable was my benchmark.

Mikheyev is not Arizona's solution - It doesn't make sense.</div></div>
I'm not sure how a speedy winger isn't useful to them. Mikh thrived under bruce but isnt a fit for Rick. The ARZ system and build is much more suitable for his success. The extra compensation is supposed to be for the contract being risky, but maybe more is needed. I don't think teams see him as a pure dump yet.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gunmars</b></div><div>I'm gonna stop you right there and have you read that again. Just cause Jarmo did it doesn't mean it's the league standard.</div></div>
League standard is usually a 4th or 5th, but these are both much higher tiers of players.
I can understand that the argument would then be "star player rights don't get moved", which is fair, but if they did, lets not pretend a 3rd is far fetched.

big stride
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Troll post? That wouldn't get Andersson, let alone Mangiapane with retention included</div></div>
I'll note that I don't believe Mangiapane is worth all that much. With retention he's worth more. Still, the winger market is limited. You might argue to just remove him from the trade unless he gets the value you want, and since you won't probably get the value you want for him, I'm fine to replace him with Kuz in this build.
While I really don't think Ras even gets moved, I think its a little bit ludicrous to say that this package wouldn't get Andersson if CGY is truly shopping him. Berggren is really good right now nevermind his upside, the other prospect is a 2nd rounder, and there are high picks. I used Chychrun as my comparable. I think sometimes some Flames fans don't have on-earth value expectations of value for players they like.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>Bro, why are you posting this obvious trolling nonsense? You're better than this.
Dude. Tell me you're being satirical.</div></div>
Let me re-phrase, I don't think it is worth it in Dallas' long term picture to trade for Parayko - makes them too cap strapped and its not their biggest need. I know you valiantly defend Parayko's value and likely non movement for the Blues, nevermind the interdivision aspect, so I don't think there's a trade here anyways. I think a sub 3m vet depth dman, or a project dman is more up Dallas alley... say a Peeke, Tanev or Carrier.

I don't think Parayko is worth this type of return, especially given Nils performance. I think Dallas would benefit more from just a rental or a shorter term guy.
