Anaheim and Colorado both say no, like easily say no to the point you would think they're laughing as they hang up.
Marchessault would be a waste of money. Aging vet that Habs don't need and just takes up a roster spot for a younger player
Only thing I some what agree with in this post is keeping Reinbacher in the AHL but it will depend on his training camp

How low will he go
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div>Ivan won’t be NHL ready by next year imo, I would really hope they could get Mittlestadt done for a little less and not have to mess around with guys like Hakanpaa and Kulikov and keep Manson.</div></div>
Definitely hope they can get him closer to $6M but I'm not sure if that's going to be possible. You're on record a saying Lehkonen would be the guy you would trade then pick up someone else. Would you simply re-sign Drouin or go looking for someone else in UFA and who would that be? Of course, if Landy can't come back, that changes things but I think we should operate off the assumption he will at least give it a go next season.

My guess is Manson but I could also see someone like Lehkonen. Don't get me wrong, I'd hate to see him go since he does so many things well and is so clutch but it's easier to replace a winger than it is a C.

If they were still interested in him, you'd think they would have called him up to play more games over a guy like Wagner. The fact they've given him only five games even with injuries and ineffectiveness of guys like Kivi and Olofsson (and Wagner) doesn't look good for him to be re-signed.

But the bubble forwards are definitely Duhaime, Cogliano and Kovalenko. Come playoff time and fully healthy roster your top 6 is pretty clear cut 29, 96, 27, 37, 13, 62. The 3rd line locks are 20 and 9. 28, 25, 15 are locks for the line up.</div></div>
If kovalenko can mesh I'd go with
Parise colton kovalenko
Wood trenin LOC
4th line heavy hitters. 3rd line brings speed and physicality

some years it's clear the cup winner is not the strongest team, felt that last with TBL vs COL but those were top 2 that year for sure
2018 Pens defs weren't the team to beat after trading away Kessel... and it felt then like the winner of WSH and TBL game 7 would beat VGK
The next year, WSH didn't feel like the strongest team at all with TBL at 128 points but it was BOS vs STL who then also didn't feel like best team in 2020 when TBL rebounded so well so...

Lol. 1st favorite team is Canucks. 2nd is the Wild. Joined CF two days ago and has made like 20+ ACGMS, mostly for teams not named Canucks or Wild. Whatever floats your boat, I guess.

I heard Behrens has good physicality & am not worried about starting him & Malinski. I think Walker prices out of COL.

I think the only thing they do today is a third goalie. But what just dawned on me is COL was in on Tanev and I think they turned down the Walker trade, and that the Mittlestadt trade has been agreed upon but was contingent on them getting a replacement for Byram.</div></div>
Yap. It was going around that Colorado wanted Tanev. They were in on him for sure. It's rumored that one team involved (not sure who) offered Calgary a 1st but they wanted them to eat a contract as well. That team may have very well been the Avs asking them to eat RyJo, the exact package that Philly got. Walker was simply the next best option.

That bottom pairing is not gonna work. You should put Malinski with Girard or Manson. Honestly something tells me Behrens gets traded today.
I would love a Drouin extension, but I think that (and the Trenin extension too) are dependent on what happens with Landy. If he comes back, at least one if not both are gone.
And sorry, but Ivan Ivan will not be an NHL 4C next year.

ReUp Trenin and Mitts
I do wonder if loading up on wingers now is in part to get a look at a few guys they might like for next year. If Landeskog can’t come back, I could see them spreading part of his $7M between a couple guys like Drouin & Trenin for example. But to <a href="/users/Xqb15a" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Xqb15a</a> ‘s point, they don’t want to tie up too much money in bottom six guys with other extensions coming up.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ArakinSkywalker</b></div><div>personally i think we're bridging mittlestadt. I don't see him getting more than nichuskin if he wants long term and matching landy. He's never had 20 goals, he's never shown playoff success, hes an rfa the factors are in our favour going into arb so with that i think he banks on himself and gets 2-3 year bridge deal around the 5 mil mark. Plus we're a good tax state so we will be able to cut a better deal, look at the rest of our big names that are big factors in the cup that could have made more on the open market.
I also think moving manson is a mistake, this is a pretty light d line in terms of physicality and i think manson will make his presence felt again this post season.</div></div>
I agree on Middlestadt bridge. Zegras at 3x$5.75 is the comp. At that point, they can decide if they can afford him or if Ritchie is ready to be the regular 2C.

If Gourde were Available
Your explanation basically says gourde replacing johansen is a lateral move. Seems like we're just taking one declining player for another. Plus dreiger makes this a no go for me, we already have cap issues we don't have 2.3 for a goalie to play in the minors and 3.5 for a backup.
