if it was my team? no - but then again, if it was my team I would be pushing for Wahlstrom to get more than 11 minutes a night.
in the real world, I think it would be fair - if Pelech is out long-term, Brannstrom would help stabilize the LHD depth chart behind Romanov & Reilly.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xspyrit</b></div><div>It really isn't far off and disagree on Tarasenko's value. Agreed that the first has to be earlier
Chychrun for Schneider + 1st in 2024
Pinto for Kakko + 2nd in 2024
Tarasenko (at 50%) for Othmann
I would do it even though it hurts to move Pinto. It fits our needs to a T (Chychrun and Tarasenko don't)
Joseph - Stutzle - Batherson
Tkachuk - Greig - Giroux
Othmann - Norris - Kakko
Sanderson - Zub
Chabot - Schneider
Brannstrom - JBD
(Kleven replaces Brannstrom next season, who is traded for a young forward)</div></div>
I still don't want to trade Pinto at all but this is a remarkably fair offer in my opinion.

Neither player fills any type of need on WPG.
Monahan is a bottom 6C that adds nothing to what we already have…and he’s not worth a 1st.
Chuchrun is of no need as Jets need RHD, not overpayed LHD</div></div>

I like Appleton well enough, but a 3rd liner and a very late 1st is not interesting in the least for a player of Chychrun's level. Rashevsky is a good KHL player, but he's a late round pick who wouldn't be able play for the Sens until the 2025-26 season at the earliest. Not a valuable asset at all. As for Stanley, the less said about him the better. Not worth the paper his contract is printed on

Unless CBJ loved one of those guys (or any that follow), i think Sens would still have to add to the #5 pick. May have to through Greig or Pinto in there.</div></div>
I don't see Buium going that high.
And if Ottawa needs to add Greig or Pinto, the deal is dead.

I just wouldnt want him on the team. Only reason Chychrun would be traded would be to get rid of the LHD surplus and address the deficiencies elsewhere. getting an LHD in any capacity is probably the last thing I would want in return, especially one with term. fwiw I dont think he is getting traded anyways, hes setted in at RD with chabot since his return and they have put some really good performances in recently

If Kuz goes, they have the cap space. This is 25 players who could play a role in playoffs. Cap compliant otherwise. I suppose if Ottawa wanted to retain for a bigger return elsewhere, then Van would have to add if they really wanted him.

Not Serious
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xspyrit</b></div><div>Sensonfire post doesn't give Ceci justice. There was no problem with him until 2016-17 where he suddenly played 4 more minutes per game in a shutdown role. He was literally used as a Top-10 shutdown D-man in the NHL, which of course didn't go well and left a sour taste in Sens fans mouth (so forget it, they won't want him back)
After being traded to Toronto, he turned his career in Pittsburgh and has also been good for Edmonton. I'd keep him if I was the Oilers
No, nothing to do with offensive expectations. He was overwhelmed in one of the toughest roles in the NHL. Dorion was a terrible GM who didn't provide Guy Boucher what was necessary for him to play his style so he had to overuse Ceci. He still made the ECF that season and game 7 double OT against the eventual Champs</div></div>
That's interesting. Over the past 2 full seasons Ceci played the 8th most against Elites of all defensemen in the league. And he posted pretty good numbers in those minutes too - better than Adam Larsson's results (5th most minutes v Elites), as a for instance. Either Nurse is good enough to carry Ceci around or maybe Ceci isn't so bad after all. If you listen to 90% of the people on this site he's a cap dump, but he's been value for the money in Edmonton.

IMO that Blues pick is very similar to the 1st rd pick that landed you guys Chych. Was a gamble by ARI that worked out for them (12oa) but could've gone pretty badly if OTT went on a late run like they wanted to. Blues don't have the underlying numbers to really push the pick toward the back half of the draft but crazier things have happened for sure. It's always a gamble.

I want Jiricek so bad
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xspyrit</b></div><div>Yeah, but they must have reasons for better development. Remember, Erik Karlsson was sent back to the AHL in his rookie season, he was 19 y/o though but the guy won 3 Norris and will be Top-10 in D-men scoring of all-time (he's 18th right now)
I think teams should sit with these prospects in advance and make them understand that it could be better for them long-term, if that's the case. Too many times, we hear young guys being shocked that they got demoted.</div></div>
I fully agree, and if Jiricek had been playing in the AHL all year I don't think there's any complaints. The main issue is he's been at the NHL level and just not played. Dude needs to play, anywhere!

Realistically thats probably a terrible idea for ottawa.
Barring a major improvement this year the sens are definitely picking top 8.
Brannstrom isnt worth anything but if they put batherson at that cap hit up for sale there wpuld be a lot of buyers. Easy 1st+.
Jiricek has largely still shown the same issues people were worried about in his draft year (footspeed) that makes trading for him at that price point very risky.
Just draft a d with the pick and if they want to move off batherson sell him.
