Well you got Markstrom so you'll be out in the first round. Second round if Evander Kane puts up two hat tricks again.

My asking prices from Ottawa and Montreal on Weegar and Huberdeau

Pretty obvious. It's no different than the Chiarelli Hall for Larsson trade. All day long Chia was shopping Hall for a D man and was getting hard balled and then right at 1:50 he settled for Larsson and pulled the trigger and Hall won NHL MVP the following season. Every GM is obviously licking their chops at a chance to steal Huberdeau from Treliving.

Every single GM in the NHL knows that Huberdeau does not want to play in Calgary so they can either trade him for basically nothing or lose him for absolutely nothing. Calgary is NOT in a good position at all no matter how the fans try to spin it into a win with the Tkachuk to Florida trade.

I am in no way jealous of the Oilers and the four 1st overall picks it took to pull them out of 10+ years of oblivion. I'm also glad you now have Detroit's sloppy seconds for a GM. The same GM that completely tanked us. All he does is build teams with overpriced vets. He's already doing it in Edmonton. Hyman signed until his late 30's. The Duncan Keith trade....it will only continue for the Oilers. when McDavid walks you'll be left with nothing but a roster filled with old expensive players and no talent around them.</div></div>
LMAO what. Hyman was an amazing acquisition. So was keith he played a pivitol roll in our west final run and now is off the books because of retirement. Most other teams in the west have gotten worse, including Colorado. Edmonton is one of the few teams in the entire NHL that has actually improved through free agency. But keep hating on the GM that handed you guys your stanley cups and 20 year playoff streak.

Possibly. No different than Matthews inevitably leaving Toronto when his contract is up. It all goes full circle.

Don't know why fans are still beating this like a dead horse. The NHL already announced we won't get cap relief if Keith retires and it is much much better for the Edmonton Oilers if Duncan Keith is ON the bench.

Konovalov has an .893 and a 2.78 in the AHL so far. I literally listen to hockey podcasts and tsn 1260 in edmonton all day long. yes, Broberg and Holloway are the next big 2 names Oilers are banking on. Also yes Savoie is a PPG player but in the U of Denver. NCHA not in the NCAA.

Lifelong Oilers fan as well as Capitals fan for reference, Konovalov is having a bit of a difficult time adjusting to North America and is still a couple years away from being good to go. Carter Savoie is almost just very slowly turning into kind of a bust? He for sure is not developing the way we had anticipated. Oilers would do this ALL DAY LONG.

Oilers do this. Yamamoto hasn't gotten back to his 2018-2019 game since then and we need cap room for Nurse's new contract and to re sign Puljujarvi, McLeod, and a bunch of others. Puljujarvi is going to land between 4.5M and 6.0M AAV depending on how many more than 60 points he gets this season which he is on pace for.

the great trade
Gross. Shades of the Gretzky trade...
"The deal was announced Aug. 9, 1988, 12 weeks after the Oilers closed out a four-game sweep of the Boston Bruins in the Cup Final. Gretzky, McSorley and center Mike Krushelnyski went to the Kings in exchange for center Jimmy Carson, wing Martin Gelinas, first-round draft picks in 1989, 1991 and 1993, and $15 million."
Other than winning the Stanley Cup in 1990 because we still had most of the core of the 80's cup winning team that Gretzky trade destroyed the Oilers for years to come and the Gretzky trade tree is still ongoing and is the NHL's longest running trade tree.

goalie
Lifelong Oilers fan here of over 30 years and Oilers fans need to stop selling the farm for goalies who were in their prime 6 seasons earlier. We need someone in their mid 20's who will stay for 5-6 seasons. Holland has tried two off seasons to acquire a goalie in the market and failed and last press conference said he thinks the answer is in the dressing room. Koskinen off the books this off season is 4.5M free. I called in to the 630 CHED post game show a couple of weeks ago and asked about or goaltending situation and they said most likely we start the next season with a Skinner-Smith tandem which I am totally good with. Skinner is cheap and has proven he is NHL ready. Is he full time NHL ready though? Only time will tell but I think he has shown flashes that he is.

Sorry but where you lost me was already at the Puljujarvi signing for 2.75M AAV.
If he puts up north of 60 points, which he is on pace for, he is going to sign for between 4.75-6.0M AAV or sign somewhere else. He has proven himself as a big body presence who can finally play on McDavid's wing.
