I heard a rumor that Sweeney might just waive Forbort and Foligno and call them up in the playoffs to get around that. Has Rielly in the minors if Forbort is claimed

I think you keep Stolarz and phase him into the starting role, Gibson doesn't have to be traded just yet as Silfverberg and Henrique have nice buyout savings

One thing I forgot to mention is I never allow for any players with 0 NHL experience on these rosters

The thing about Lehkonen is he has a cheap contract and is an RFA. Zucker is also playing down to his ability. True a second is more realistic but a cap dump is needed

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Fergy22</b></div><div>you're betting on a top 5 lottery team with that squad , Formenton should get more $ , Gaudette more $ than Gambrell in fact they may not qualify Gamnbrell. Norris will get at lest 6 per. Not interested in Leddy 2x4mil , Gustavsson is signed to a 1 way deal next year so I see him over Gillies ( not sure how you figure he will sign anywhere for 1.5 ) and the best for last Ouelette ? JDB , Thomson over him any day and Sanderson will make the team at some point next year , he may start in Bellville for some seasoning but he will be an NHLer by the 40 game mark.</div></div>
Part of the point is using no prospects as we don't know how the organization will treat them. Look how long it took for Brannstrom to join the squad full time. Maybe Formenton gets more but I'm not sure, also I don't think I can unqualify a player using armchair GM. The Leddy contract is little risk for a guy who would keep Sanderson's seat warm

Offseason Flat Cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PaulieWalnuts</b></div><div>This is quite reasonable, not bad at all coming from a non Devils fan. Thumbs up.
I’m definitely in the camp of not selling futures for short term assets for this and next season so I agree with this approach.
And while I wouldn’t mind trading for Kubalik, I’d prefer to try and move either Johnsson, Zacha or Tatar to get him. Wood’s combination of dynamism and power isn’t something we have an abundance of at the moment.
Forward lines are fine.
Defensive pairings are mostly fine as well, though it’s quite likely that one of Bahl or Walsh takes Jaros’s spot for next season. And Siegenthaler’s likely playing first or second pairing minutes next season as well (he’s been fantastic this year).
Bernier is a big question mark as he may have suffered a career ending injury. I’m hoping Devils sign another veteran (Husso, Kuemper, Campbell etc) or trade for a guy like Annunen or Dostal.
And Zacha’s QO is 2.75m so you’re a little short on his contract.</div></div>
Thanks for the compliments. I agree that buying again will end up in disaster/cap trouble. Also, the 2023 offseason will have a lot of guys who need to be paid so getting aggressive when it's unnecessary won't work well
Wood is just a guy I think Chicago would like, also pretty interchangeable with Zacha. Speaking of him, the contract is a bit shallow but I think it's reasonable (maybe a bit more). As for the D-pairs, I have 1 rule, no calling up players with 0 NHL experience.
As for Bernier, I hope he gets better but if he retires I'd get another goalie

Ingram isn't good? That's news.
Like you say, Kulak is just a bottom pairing LD in NSH. Dime a dozen, interchangeable guy. A team like say WSH probably needs and offers more than NSH would.</div></div>
The Arvidsson trade was confirmation of what insiders had been saying for months, Forsberg is done in Nashville. Similar to Taasenko, they're playing for money
And yes. but there are other D than Kulak, I just like him
