I think there’s good value in that, I don’t think there’s value in that for Colorado who would need him to be the 2C he’s not, which is why I’m confused by the rumored interest.</div></div>
That's why ì would only pay what I would pay. He's not a 2C, and the Avs have a lot of bottom six players. He also doesn't really fit with what the current bottom six is structured to do.
The only way it makes sense is if they're thinking he might be able to carry the load between two strong wingers. He might, but that's a big gamble if giving up significant assets.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Yotes269</b></div><div>Yeah but I don’t think you’re really extracting 2 runs worth of value from Tampa or Vegas, you can likely do better on the 1st rounder at the draft.
As far as his talent goes, he’s kinda always blown as an actual defender, but Tocchet let him run wild and abandon all defensive responsibilities. Worked to build up his rep around the league, 41 pts in 56 games will do that, but it was always an inflated version of his talents the yotes were spinning. Dorion just hosed you guys for no real discernible reason, LD wasn’t even close to a need.</div></div>
They needed a defensive RD and got an offensive LD.

Whats his cost
Hayton plays the Steve Rucchin role between Schmaltz and Keller. He's doing all the dirty work for that line. I think they are very happy with his play, despite his drop in points in this 16 game sample. After they moved him up in the lineup last year, he had 34 points in 47 games to end the season. Doubt they dump him after a slow start where he's still looked very good despite not getting on the scoreboard.

Arizona is likely out of the playoffs, so they offer so much for rental???? Same with Nashviile. It's Cup contending teams that trade for good upcoming UFASs.
I don't see the Leafs doing that trade.....Dubas isn't here anymore. How does Tanev change the Leafs fortunes this year?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Yotes269</b></div><div>Would I trade Mcbain? No, and I don’t think the org wants to either. We got him because he wanted to play higher in the lineup, it reminds me a lot of Vesey but Mcbain has a much more defined role that can play across the league.
As far as kerfoot goes, he’s a low event sturdy 4th liner. he’s being deployed as he should, $3.5m might be steep but it’s such an improvement to the bottom 6</div></div>
Ya I suppose the cap hit for two years is not an issue for the Coyotes, that makes sense and ya good 4th liner who can really slot into any forward spot in a pinch. I guess I am being harsh because he has been such a dud in the playoffs.
Hey hope it’s ok to ask, have you been to a game? Curious on the atmosphere in the small arena. Planning a road trip and Phoenix is on the short list of destinations. I noticed there is standing room only which I love but wonder about the view.

Well said. I don't think Simashev would have lasted that long, but I can see why you'd have liked it to play out that way.

Swap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Yotes269</b></div><div>I’d agree he gets is 9, he actually reminds me a lot of crouse in junior where the top end speed isn’t bad, but the explosion is a bit lacking just because he hasn’t grown into his body yet. Crouse is a very good skater now so I expect we’ll see a similar development path. If Geekie can be a 50-55 point guy I think that’s a home run for the middle 6</div></div>
Draft year I wasn’t that impressed by geekie, but this past season it seemed like he grew and gained some speed, such a light lanky body type, could be quite the player if he can grow into it. Give you a little bit of everything, crouse probably is a pretty good projection on geekie, another big body tough to play against to add to the stable. Definitely starting to see a blues of the south look to the coyotes, hopefully doesnt start handing out 8x everywhere, and squad stays hungry

Zucker is likely a deadline flip that’s their last real chance at adding a quality pick, and if we’re in the playoff race and we keep him it means we finally had high end depth. I think the team is going to surprise some people this year</div></div>
I think geekie is going to get his 9 in, watched him last few years in junior, he is going to be a fun add when he’s ready.

I really like your team. I think you guys also have one of, if not the best prospect pool. I really like the Yotes and hope they do well.
As for your point, I think thats fair. He does have to earn it, but he wont earn much game time on the 4th, so it will be hard to prove himself unless he gets PP time.

That's fair. I just feel like any of the 3LW or 3RW should be in the top 9, and putting one of them, or Crouse, on the 4th, would be a waste.

Cooley is absolutely the right pick, caufield was certainly a swing and a miss but söderstrom is still going to be a 2nd pairing guy. Hurts missing the 40 goal capable player though. Personally I love Simashev, I think that’s a home run. But is questionable, but Bill lead the charge for tage so we shall see</div></div>
Slowly building big tough team to play against, more size and skating added, thought for sure they were going to get michkov or benson and offset with a dman, but possibly a team approach to keep getting athletic big guys.
