Apologies for not posting this weekend, but it's okay as nothing really happened other than an AHL trade and Bortuzzo doing Bortuzzo things

1. Toronto Maple Leafs forward Alexander Kerfoot has been suspended for 2 games, for boarding Colorado Avalanche defender Erik Johnson. Must have been upset his autographed jerseys were selling for $20 on the NHL Shop.

2. A story has arisen out of Toronto during the Father's Weekend road trip in January of 2017. As the story goes, Mike Babcock was frustrated with Mitch Marner for his perceived laziness in the first half of his rookie season. According to multiple sources, during the aforementioned Father's Weekend road trip of January 2017, Babcock asked Marner to rank his teammates' effort level that season in order of 1 through 20, ranging from the hardest working to the laziest. Marner obliged, and per multiple sources, put himself at the bottom of the list, with both parties agreeing that he needed to work harder without the puck. What Babcock didn't tell Marner was that he was preparing to show this list to some of the players who Marner had ranked towards the bottom. According to multiple sources, Marner was in tears after the details of his list were shared, while his teammates were furious - specifically with Babcock. They couldn't believe their head coach would put a 19-year-old in that situation, especially considering how well-liked Marner was in the dressing room. Mitch Marner was close to requesting a trade out of Toronto over this. His agent talked him out of this. Seems like Babcock caused a lot of locker room issues.

3. Micheal Ferland (concussion) will join the Canucks in Pittsburgh tomorrow. Agent Jason Davidson: "I talked to Micheal yesterday, he is feeling great and excited to rejoin his teammates."

4. Mitch Marner is out for a skate before Leafs practice. He suffered a high-ankle sprain 16 days ago and is expected to be out at least another two weeks, per original timeline.

1. The Los Angeles Kings have terminated the contract of forward Mario Kempe and he has signed a two-year contract with CSKA Moscow (KHL)

2. The Vancouver Canucks have had interest in Maple Leafs defenseman Tyson Barrie. One source told Rick Dhaliwal that they had a significant interest in him at the NHL draft.

3. Kyle Turris will be a healthy scratch again tonight for the Predators as they face the Canucks. Things haven't gone so well with Turris and Nashville.

4. Pittsburgh Penguins forward Nick Bjugstad had surgery on a core muscle injury and is out for 8 weeks. Defender Justin Schultz is out "longer-term" with a lower body injury. Patric Hornqvist has been activated off the Injured Reserve.

5. Flames and Sabres have been talking trade for a little while but haven't been able to work anything out. Marco Scandella is available. Sabres are dealing from a position of weakness because Bogosian's return is going to force them to make a couple moves.

6. The Canucks have been trying to trade a forward for over a year and still haven't found a deal they like.

7. The Calgary Flames have provided an update on TJ Brodie after he collapsed on the ice and went into convulsions last week. "TJ has been working out for the past several days and today skated on his own under the supervision of our medical staff. Over this past week, he has had consultations with appropriate specialists in Calgary. To date, all medical evaluations and testing have been reassuring. We still work to complete final testing and are optimistic he will re-join the team in the near future."

8. The Columbus Blue Jackets have named Paul MacLean as an assistant coach on John Tortorella's staff. MacLean will be in charge of special teams.

EDIT 11/21/19 5:24 PM PST
9. Darren Dreger on Insider Trading says Sabres GM Jason Botterill has made offers on a couple of forwards around the league. Says there is a growing sense of urgency in Buffalo, and that they want to make 1 or 2 trades within the next week or two.

10. Oilers still on the market for a 3rd line center. Wanted Pageau in the offseason, but they waited too long and the price I'm hearing is a 1st and a prospect. Oilers don't want to do that.

11. Nashville in the market for a depth defender.
