Get It Done
I think we have to get rid of Killorn. His offensive support on L2 just doesn't cut it. We have to find a good winger to support either Point or Stamkos on L2, that can make their offensive game effective.
Cirelli and Killorn together are a good defensive duo, but an offensive blackhole

(TBL/NSH) - McDonagh for Myers, Mismash
Hard to see McDonagh go, but it's the right time to free up cap space and not having to add something to take on his contract, that will likely look ugly very soon.

Ryan McDonagh has been excellent defensively for Tampa Bay, but at age 33 the remaining four years of his deal are looking incredibly dicey. The Lightning get out of this deal just in time. pic.twitter.com/hHftC66WvI
— dom (@domluszczyszyn) July 3, 2022

Obviously the problem for Tampa now is filling the blanks, and Sergy will need to step it up for the Dcore to be strong.
I'm not gonna lie, I like Myers potential. When he was in Philly he looked very promising but died out in Nashville. As JBB said he has the right toolbox, maybe a change of scenery is what he needs? We'll see.
But at this point, anybody doubting JBB moves hasn't been paying attention. He knows what he's doing.

Tampa has no cap space for this. Every trade with Tampa should be involving a player leaving as well. And if they are trading rutta or Foote to upgrade the D core it's definitely not for a pylon

Lol Joseph wasn't fitting at all the 3rd line role.
Now we got a GREAT bottom 6 that on paper is the kinda top 6 that will absolutely thrive in the playoffs.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. People should have learned by now to trust JBB

Joseph been a turnover machine and a frustrating case of "I'm not gonna score on a breakaway, ever".
Now the Bolts third line is great compared to what it was 1 week ago

Holy **** I like this trade.
Joseph couldn't carry his own weight on Tampa lineup, very fast and with good positioning on the ice but with bricks for hands and can't score to save his life.
He was also due for a raise this summer, which we likely couldn't have given him.
Our third line now looks J U I C Y, JBB absolutely nailing it as per usual.

Again, you are reading it wrong. Tampa doesn't lose 2 1st and that's it. They basically downgrade their picks. It's a total different matter

Ehh. People are acting as if the 2 1st we gave up are straight up picks given without picks in return. They aren't. It's basically as if we downgraded our late first to early 4th. Lol I'll take that any day of the week and twice on sunday for a 23 years old that has still a lot of margin to improve his ceiling and is on a liquid gold contract for at least 3 playoff runs.

Think of it this way: downgrade 2 picks likely in the 28-32 range to early 4th rounders + 2 players that didn't provide much this season for Tampa for a skilled 23 y/o on an ascending trajectory with 21 goals this season on a brutal team, with a contract of 1.5M AAV for the next 3 playoff runs and after that he's RFA without arbitration rights.
Do you really think this is a massive overpay? I certainly don't.

For being the CapFriendly page I would have expected people to take into consideration the contract side as well. This trade is A ****ING MAZING for Tampa.
Hagel is not only young and skilled. He's on a 1.5M AAV contract for 3 playoffs runs, then still RFA without arbitration rights.
2 first round picks for that? Sign me up. Oh but wait, Tampa's 1st rounders are likely to be in the 28-32 range. And they get back 2 fourth rounders from a Chicago team in a rebuilding mode, so 2 early 4th rounders. Raddysh and K. weren't really cutting it this season for us.
This trade is a JBB masterclass and you can't convince me otherwise.

Very, very very hard to see McDonagh as a cap dump after how he's been playing these last two years. Absolute STUD and Bolts best defensive Dman for two straight playoff runs.
Tampa will want to go for a three-peat, McDonagh is not gonna get dished out IMO unless it's for a good return.
Cap troubles will be solved by dealing forwards, where we already have multiple replacements ready in the farm system, not Dmen (unless Seattle takes McD of course)

I get what you wanna say here, but is he really wasted there when he just heavily contributed to bring his team to be back to back champions? Plus he's 3rd pairing on paper, but logs more than 21 mins of toi per game

Cernak is not gonna get dealt. Nor is Cirelli (and by this I mean not 1 chance in hell they both aren't in a Tampa jersey next season). And nor is McDonagh IMO if Tampa wants to go for a three-peat. He was straight up Conn Smythe worthy for his defensive efforts during these last two playoff runs.

Johnson should lose his spot as soon as Stephens finishes his conditioning stint in Cuse. He's been beyond awful and disingaged, has the same goal total this season that Colton has in 15 games.
