This team looks pretty good so you should be happy. Boone Jenner is good man, verry solid. He can do a little bit of everything. He played a lot of wing this year on the second line. So he can play up and down your lineup at wing or center.</div></div>
Boone Jenner...is that you??

I’m getting a mob together with pitchforks and torches if Army trades Parayko for ROR.
I don’t disagree that that is what they will want, I will just be beyond pissed if we do it.

Draisaitl to the Blues
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JackBurton</b></div><div>I will admit, I have no idea who Thomas, R. is but I have a feeling he'll be pestering Crawford if what you say is true... So the Thomas thing aside, while Parayko is probably the defensive stud find of the last decade, we are talking about Leon Draisaitl here... The guy is ******* amazing... Let's say we change up the prospect to someone who isn't as good as this Thomas guy is, is it still that unreasonable?</div></div>
The price would probably be Parayko and a pick (doubtful a first but maybe) or Parayko and a B level prospect. It’s not that Drai isn’t worth more, just that if we trade Parayko, we have a huge hole at RD. We just can’t sacrifice too much while also creating a different need.

ROR and Tavares
That is a massive overpayment for ROR. Why even trade for a center if you’re adding JT too? Schenn is a perfect 1B and plays great with Schwartz. I just completely disagree with trading Parayko for anyone not named Drai, like <a href="/users/BAC" target="_blank">@BAC</a> said.

The RFA/UFA class two years from now will be impossible to resign. Hoffman, Schenn, Thompson, Petro, Faulk, Dunn. Woof.
Solid team until then though.

Blues next season. P1/3
There’s about a 2% chance Upshall comes back next year and about a 10% chance he plays another NHL game.
My opinion here, but I think by giving up Eddy for ROR we become a worse team. He’s essentially a more expensive Stastny.

Tavares
So that leaves St Louis with roughly 11M in cap space...are they going to commit every last cent to a contract for Tavares and go into the season with $0 cap space?
And how exactly are either Sobotka or Berglund leaving, unless they are bought out (which would be foolish of STL to do) or traded (which no one would want those players anyways)?[/quote]
So you think there is not a single team that would want a third line center that scores ~20 goals (Berglund)? There is plenty of value to be had for both of them, just not on the Blues because we have a plethora of third liners.

If that's the way you see things shaking out, then hats off to you. I personally don't see St. Louis being able to afford that type of contract.</div></div>
All of those RFAs except Edmundson will come cheap, Hutton likely won’t resign here unless we trade away Allen, which would free up 4+mil. Plus it’s very likely one of Berglund or Sobotka will be gone freeing up another 3+ mil. So yes, that’s the way I see things shaking out.

Tavares
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bruinsdiehard</b></div><div>Lol nice cherry picking there. At 33 and 31, I'm not worried about Burns and Vlasic especially considering they are defensemen. The truth is that yes, with Kane, SJ is still a young/competitive/contending team, whatever you want to call it. Couture is only 29. The emergence of Meir and Hertl who are in their early 20s, along with a potential Tavares, and a good goalie who is cost-effective and only 28...I'd take SJ's situation over a lot of other teams in this league.</div></div>
The Blues will be a serious cup contender with JT, could afford to give him 12m per, and have a much younger core than SJS. Just saying, San Jose is a decent place for him to go, but there are plenty of contenders out there that can and probably will give him more than 11m per.

Deals with MIN and STL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TML_GM</b></div><div>Good to know the value placed on Fabbri from the STL perspective, that isn't what I was thinking. For me, his injury problems lower his value. I would take him out of the deal entirely if required. But it sounds like you want to hold on to Parayko regardless. I had noticed a trend of STL fans trading him on the boards, so I assumed he might be up for grabs. Any other STL fans have opinions?</div></div>
Like mentioned previously, we just don’t have the blue line depth to trade Parayko. Everyone just jumped on here after missing the playoffs thinking about nothing but adding scoring and getting rid of Allen. We need to keep our D together for any shot of competing until at least the Petro contract is up. Then who knows what will happen. He’s too valuable to us at this point plus I’m scared to death to trade him and see him become a (potential) Norris candidate in 4 years.

I’m not ready to give up on him either. I’m also not convinced Hutton can handle 60 games. Regardless, there’s no way STL makes this trade while retaining salary. The contract isn’t even a bad cap hit to be honest.

Babcock wins out over Matthews
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeastModeUnknown</b></div><div>Okay let's say the Blues trade Parayko for Matthews. yea you gain a Center, but you just f-u-c-k-e-d up your Defense. Bouwmeester is easily a top 4 defenseman. Berglund is a top 9 forward. Walman top 4 potential prospect. Ivan Barbashev a top 6 potential. Sobotka top 9 right now. Steener maybe he can be a top 3 guy at center. 4 picks. Jaskin top 9 forward speed. 3 to 4 picks. I would even add bortuzzo, or Gunnarsson, or Edmundson. That is not a lowball. Your not giving credit for what berglund can do also it wouldn't be Berglund on the first line anyway. Nazem Kadri would easily have his first line back.</div></div>
I’m just gonna agree to disagree here. I can only hope our guys play half as good as you value them next year.

Dude. What? You really think sending a bunch of trash and 4 picks will get you a franchise caliber top line centerman? Yeah Walman may be the Blues top D prospect, but he is not a “top D prospect” across the league. I’m not even going to begin to talk about “Berglund replacing Matthews”. Woof. I agree with <a href="/users/BluesBandit" target="_blank">@BluesBandit</a> If losing Parayko + were to get us Matthews. Done.
