Playoff Roster

I agree, just wish it was otherwise.

Lundqvist is RH but yeah it's all whether Arizona thinks they can sign him in the offseason. He's an RFA so likely but still.

Correct, but I don't think he needs to. No one is taking Suter or Faksa.

Plenty for Hanifin. Bourque is going to be a top 6 forward at the very least.

Stars defense is in trouble. Savard isnt going to save it completely but he's an upgrade. I would say he's better than Miller defensively. And that's what the stars need.

Montreal Gazette reported they were considering trading him. Saad Yousef at The Athletic said the stars are looking for a defenseman like him and hinted to them possibly reaching out. Nothing concrete.

Montreal gets Grushnikov. He's a good prospect top 4 caliber. Petry is 35. Doesn't he want to be on a team who can win? I think this whole "can't be too far from Michigan" is overblown.

Only to make the cap work and Hakanpaa has only 1 year left. San Jose also gets a 1st and a good prospect.

Stars Has to be a trade coming
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheMooterus</b></div><div>I'm not saying he's in the same realm, and there is far more to his game than point production. Jason Dickinson got a 2 year deal worth $1.5M per year after the 2018-2019 season where he put up 22 points. If he only put up 22 points, why did he get the contract he did? Because he was far more effective on the ice than his point total showed. He brought value in the defensive end of the ice, in the physical aspect of the game, and he was a Swiss Army Knife that was able to be used at even strength, on the PK, & up and down the lineup.
Dellandrea is a carbon copy of that kind of player, and he's arguably better offensively. If you only look at his point totals, you're completely missing 75% of his game and what he does for the Stars. He is absolutely worth a short bridge deal worth $1.5M per year.</div></div>
Cap is different than it was when Dicky was signed. I agree with everything you said I just don't see how it works this year. Next year if the cap goes up, absolutely.

Stars Has to be a trade coming
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheMooterus</b></div><div>Jason Robertson's qualifying offer was in the low $800K's last year as well and he had no leverage. Same with Oettinger. Just because that's a player's qualifying offer doesn't mean that's what the team is going to offer them on a contract. Dellandrea is due for a pretty nice pay raise over what he was making last year and he's going to get it this offseason.</div></div>
He still isn't getting 1.5. At best, he would get 1. He had 28 points. He's not in the same realm as Otter or Robertson.

That's his QO. He doesn't have leverage and Nill could make the argument that he will pay him next year when the cap goes up.

Best Case Scenario
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheMooterus</b></div><div>I don't even think Lundkvist will end up there. At his ceiling, I view him as more of a 2nd pair, offensive minded defenseman. I'm not sure he's the kind of defenseman I want to see out there for 25+ minutes a night. I wouldn't be surprised to see them move Miro back to the right side (which is perfectly fine) and try to go after someone like Ryan Graves or Dmitry Orlov to soak up the top pair minutes on the left side.
Mayfield is really the only RD available that I'd be comfortable slotting on to that 2nd pair, and even he's someone I don't want to give 25+ minutes a night to.</div></div>
My thought process here is I don't know Nill will do much at all. I'm not even sure he buys out Suter to be honest. I made this as a "OK we buyout Suter, bring back Domi, and then what do we have?" Otherwise, I 100% agree on getting another top pair defenseman.

I think so too. But, if not, we can buy him out too.

I'd take Tyler Myers but Vancouver would have to eat 50% of his salary. But I'd throw in a 2nd round pick.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Justin_LetsGoStars</b></div><div>I don't hate it, I'm just trying to figure out why VAN wants to trade a younger dman for Miller. They might since they have shown to be imcompetent at times. I also think Stanky does make the jump to the big club next season, but I think they'll leave Bourque in the AHL another season to ripen up properly. He shouldn't be needed next season honestly.
I'd rather see Hawks traded off but I get why Miller would go to VAN since he has more trade value.</div></div>
It's all about not wasting their EL contract. They can both make the jump next season and it saves the Stars money. But, I can see that happening too. Bring back Domi at least.
