Stats with context my guy, much of Simmonds game is crashing and jamming pucks into pads which inflate xG numbers and no finishing talent. We see this with Brady Tkachuk.

Be angry at me
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PleaseBanMeForMyOwnGood</b></div><div>There is almost zero statistical evidence to support that.</div></div>
No statistical evidence? Interesting - go do me a favourite and look at their RAPM charts.
Over a 3 year span, Mayfield has been in the been in the 76th percentile for defence, Soucy 71st while Holl 66th and Dermott 67th.
Then for giggles since you sent me a TSN article (this one actually not too bad) as proof the depth guys are great, even go look at their points.
Holl's numbers in this article are inflated due to the competition that he faces. A stat called Dangerous Fenwick For % (similar to xG since they both value high danger shots more than low danger) has Holl at 47% when playing against Elite and Average competition while it sky rockets to 60% when playing against 4th liners. Dermott's numbers are similar but not as extreme since he is actually above 50% when playing against average competition but they drop to 43% when playing against elite competition. Not saying Holl and Dermott have been bad but I am saying they could be better and that is what I believe we would be getting here.
As for the Simmonds and Jarnkrok comparison, come on man...Simmonds over the last 3 years has been in the 15th percentile in GAR while Jarnkrok has been 65th%. This one shouldn't even be up for discussion, watching hockey and looking at the box score could tell you that. And its not like I'm trading Simmonds too because I know what he brings and its not in the numbers but theres no harm adding an objectively better player to your lineup when you can.
Don't get me wrong, I love the guys - I also have personal ties to Dermott and absolutely love his game, but I cheer for the Maple Leafs first and want to see them succeed.

Replacing Holl and Dermott with Soucy and Mayfield makes the defence worse? Come on man.
Simmonds is not the end all be all, he's a 4th liner and everyone playing in this lineup is better than him. Love the guy but love the crest on the jersey even more.

Should be done unless Rielly Gets Traded
I like the players going back and forth in the trade but the picks in the deal seem unnecessary. There is also not a chance the bottom 6 would look like that, Kerfoot is at least 3rd line, Spezza is a lock to play 4th.

Is this enough for Eichel to NJ
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>With the assumption that Jack Hughes and Ty Smith would be untouchable, I think you start with your 3rd best youngster, then add from there. Maybe something like 2022 1st+one of Holtz/Mercer+Foote?+something.
Not that Eichel in NJ makes a ton of sense anyway. Keep going with the youth movement, see where you are this time next year, then make the needed changes.</div></div>
I think the "youth movement" is actually why this makes a ton of sense. Eichel is only 25, would be their best player and but could also be seen as a mentor to the younger guys. Kind of reminds me of Panarin to NYR or Tavares to TOR

Bruins have been a top contender for years cause they seem to have managed their cap effectively since the cap era began. Yea some they have made mistakes, but about the most consistently good management of their personnel for a number of years in the whole NHL.</div></div>
Unfortunately, this site doesn't have a time machine feature, so that is impossible.

Im glad a habs fan finally had the balls to move KK, props to you.
I'd say SEA would want a C-B level defence prospect to replace Dunn, and it would get it done. Looks good other than that!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy12Bob</b></div><div>Only players that have to be traded, i.e. that under no circumstances can be kept on the team will be traded for scraps like you've offered.
If you're trying to pry a player away from a team that doesn't want to lose him you have to overpay, and do so massively if the team you're trading with don't have a replacement lined up for the spot turning vacant.
Your offer, as it stands, is the equivalent to Detroit offering you Namestnikov + Niederbach + a 2nd for Matthews.
I really didn't think I would have to spell it out like to a 4-year old.</div></div>
Call me a leaf homer, fine. Idgaf.
You are absolutely delusional, and its boarder line scary that people like you think you can just dump on leaf fans without looking in the mirror first.

He played 9 games last year and has never eclipsed 50 points in a season (with average at best underlying numbers).

The thing you Leafs fans can't seem to wrap your heads around, is the fact that we have no reason to move Bertuzzi, so someone would need to overpay to get him. Pay a king's ransom, or don't get him, that simple.</div></div>
