lol wtf. They play different positions and one is a rookie, how did you come to that conclusion? Makar almost outscoring Petey as a rookie defensemen lol

Fantastic offensive skills with very questionable defensive skills. Im not calling him bad at D but their are alot of other guys who could do it better. Horvat also plays a really strong two way game which adds alot vaule</div></div>
Hes much better than Gardiner. He played an average of 24 minutes during the playoffs and managed to maintain extremely strong puck possession numbers. Not only that but he literally scores more points than Horvat despite being a defensemen.
The only reason its even a discussion is that hes much older and is a FA in a year

The Avs definitely arent saying yes to that. The upgrade from Compher to Athanasiou is not enough of a difference.

Well he definitely is not starting over Vasilevsky and Andersen. Maybe he can be third string over Helly.

Im not quite sure where to add their draft number. Im a bit of a noob on this site

Unlikely, but of all the Avs core players hes by far the most likely to get traded.

BSN 2019-2020
I dont think a hockey trade makes sense for Barrie unless we are willing to go for an impending UFA or we are into older forwards. I think we could get much more value through a package like this. I think moving up in the draft puts us in a great position to take Krebs or Boldy etc. Silfverberg is a very solid two way forward who is signed for 5 years. He also scored 24 goals in 73 games last season so he is very capable of putting up solid offense. I dont think its fair to say hes not a top 6 guy.
You cant sign a UFA of Johanssons calibre for 2 years. Just watching him these playoffs makes me think he would be a great fit and is a bit of an off the radar option for us at 2C if Hayes is gone. I accidentally forgot to make Francouz the backup when I re-signed Martin. Engelland is super underrated, the guy play an average of 23 minutes for Vegas in the playoffs. Hes rock solid on the PK and could be an awesome/cheap pickup for us.
If Kerfoot wants more than 3.5 Id literally trade him. I do not value him on this team beyond that. and yea ur probably right that Z will get more than what I posted. But I dont think its crazy.
I doubt Dzingel gets 4.5 especially when he was a healthy scratch for CBJ and was only able to produce in Ottawa when he was the go to guy.

Avs Next Year
Kerfoot doesnt fit long term in the Avs lineup. Hes not strong enough defensively to play on the third line and I dont like his fit in the top 6. I think the 2nd plus Dal Colle plus the cap space is the better direction for the team

No way. If anything a second and Dal Colle is way undervaluing Dzingel. Dzingel is on pace to get 31 goals this season and is playing hella good. Whereas there is little hope Dal Colle ever becomes an NHL player and a second isnt that valuable to cover Dzingel by itself

that doesnt affect contract negotiations though. If youre a player why would you willingly take less simply because you get taxed less. You obviously wouldnt do that.

Kucherov signed an 8x9.5 in the offseason. And that is probably the best comparable out there.

EDM one more time
A. Zacha is past the stage where he deserves more time. Hes clearly in need of a change of scenery.
B. Because Kovalchuck was the leading scorer on the Kings until he got sent down to the 4th line. His numbers will drastically improve if hes given time with Mcdavid. I think its actually a great move.
C. Talbot is worth more than Allen and Armstrong is pretty clearly looking to shake things up. Hes a rookie goalie his success story surely wont last.
