looking ahead to when the youth arrives

Yep, Chinakov/Tarasov already under NHL contract, Marchenko 22-23, Vronkov 23-24.

Look at the year. He set it to 21-22 season.

Just tinkering. Comments?
Agree with steinosaur19, This team can't really afford to lose D. None of the guys in the minors are ready and Nutti still needs someone to hold his hand on the 3rd pair like Murray. If we were trading JJ we would need to sing someone in free agency. Hell, I think we need Nutti to start the year as the 7th and stil pick up a guy in free agency with good possession like Cody Franson.
I also don't see the forwards changing too much. PLD hasn't really shown he's ready for the big time. If he is 3rd lining it his defense would have to be pretty rock solid. Also, there would have to be a strong case for Milano to play top 6 minutes if we are bringing him up to the big club. I don't see Gagner being let go since he was such a good fit.

Response to Sakic
I think everyone needs to keep in perspective Wennberg is still an RFA and the team holds all the power. This will be a very similar deal to what Joey got, somewhere in the 3 yr, 4M per range.

__Offseason 2017__
Agree, the Anderson price will be a bridge deal somewhere around 1M per season. I think the jackets will be pretty conservative in the offseason, the biggest thing they will need to look at is D. The depth on the blue line is a concern as we saw earlier when one or two of the top 6 went down and Harrington or Prout had to go in. Hoping for a better free agent signing than Yannick Weber, someone more of the mold who can handle top 4 minutes. I'd be more inclined to offer Savard up to Vegas. I think they'd be hesitant with the term and the back issues he's been having.

Needed now or at the deadline
I feel like you try to trade Murray in every single one of these. What is the case for ever trading him? He is going to be a valuable top 4 next year once we lose JJ or Savard to vegas, and he is doing a sound defensive job playing with a rookie 7th rounder in Nutivarra. Murray has a great contract and his next contract will probably be a great contract. That needs to be considered in the salary cap era especially among D men. Also, if anyone takes Prout off our hands it'll be for free. he isn't worth anything.

CBJ Duchene Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BorisBagels211</b></div><div><i>Forsberg > Duchene</i></div></div>
In what world? Duchene scored 20+ Gs and 55+ pts in every season he has played 70+ games. those aren't easy to find. Forsberg is an unproven backup who has never showed out at the NHL level.

Next Season After Expansion
I think Jones, Werenski, and Murray should all be untouchable D. Murray has a great bridge contract and when it comes time to sign him long term I think it'll be for a relatively good price for what'll become a reliable top 4 D man

CBJ Duchene Trade
We wouldn't have to send any money back this year with the space we've acquired throughout the year and in LTIR. We'd have to get rid of some money before next year for sure (Hartnell needs traded, and probably J. Johnson leaving in expansion draft). This is fair value for Duchene as well, Very good D & G prospects and a 1st with a conditional pick.
