Why not 2
You said it right... Dach has a dominent top line center potential which Montreal doesn't have. He might become a big first line center... or he might not. That being said, Montreal would never trade him for "okay pieces" and especially not for quantity over quality.

Transitional Offseason Throughout the Organization
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>There is no incentive for Winnipeg to trade PLD for less than his rental value.
The perfect comparable trade is the Horvat deal, so you just need to add a bit to that for PLD being younger, better and having a full year of team control left.
However, it will be pointless to trade for him if you're trying to get him to sign a lowball extension. Zero chance he signs the extension you have.</div></div>
I would argue that the perfect comparable for a potential Dubois deal is the fiala trade both being 24yo at the time of the deal and both having similar stats. You could even argue that Fiala had better stats than Dubois on a worst team, but Dubois is a center. The fiala trade was basically what you're getting here.

Doesn't he? I know he's playing with Kane so that helps his numbers but he's a legit 40-50 goals scorer. I think the value is pretty decent here with 2 good prospects and a 1rst rounder. These prospects are far form being impactful players and Ottawa needs to take a step forward.

1rst: habs won't trade for an another unidimensional defensman in barrie
2nd: maybe you think romanov is still that nonchalant defensman but he has taken a major step and will play big minutes for the next 10 years with a decent salary
3rd: mini won't trade dumba for a late 1rst

If you get a healthy price at 6mil, its gonna take an A+ prospect imo. I don't think you can get a top 6-7 goalie in this league that can carrie you through the playoffs for under that. The value is close tho

Good point. Im just wondering if Calgary would sign him to an 8 year extension but if so 9mil would be great. I would argue for panarin tho... if gaudreau can keep that pace he's having rn I'm taking him over panarin but that's my opinion

The best comparatives for gaudreau are probably Marner and Panarin both impactful wingers and both making around 11 millions. Gaudreau is at least getting paid 10mil imo unless he's willing to take a pay cut but I highly doubt that.

Considering Eichel got a middle 6 forward in tuch, a solid prospect in Krebs (although he's will not be an impactful 1rst line center) and a top 10 protected 1rst rounder+2nd, this deal is pretty much perfect imo. Chychrun is an offensive gifted dman but he's far form being that guy you can trustfully put in every situation just like Mcavoy or Heiskanen for example.

not so good for both teams imo... kapanen is kind of a Drouin 2.0: high offensive upside but never really reaches his potential. Zucker and a 2nd for Petry is interesting. but I think Hughes can do better than that

Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TampaBayLightning22</b></div><div>Yeah with the Wilds current cap crunch coming up, it makes sense to trade for a $6.4mil Goaltender, First off that doesn't get John Gibson, And secondly with Jesper Wallstedt coming up soon a goalie with 5 more years makes absolutely no sense what so ever.</div></div>
I mean if Mini wants to be competitive in the few next years they have to get something better than Talbot. I hope the organization isn't thinking they should bring Wallstedt in (a 19 years old goalie), and give him the pressure of being a no 1. Elite goaltenders usually fully developed by the age of 24-26 y-o so Gibson could a good bridge for him. Not saying the trade is particularly good tho.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>I would rather keep Guhle, Anderson and the picks. Guhle has the potential to be a top pairing guy, Anderson brings an element no one else on the roster does and the 2 1sts could bring in a prospect of Debrincat's caliber. Plus we wouldn't have another small winger to get pushed around.</div></div>
Ya, I'd like to keep Guhle to but I don't see how Romanov, Harris and Guhle could all fit on the LH side... that's why mtl might consider moving one of them to acquire a good established player on a package deal. Personally I really don't like Anderson, he's so inconsistent and I really don't think he has the hockey iq and the hands to play on the 1rst line but I get why he seems really attractive.

For Lehkonen, considering he's already a solid 3rd line guy and still young, you would probably have to send something that represent an upgrade for the future. Probably a prospect that has the potential to play top 6(offense) or top 4(defense).
