<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsRafiki</b></div><div>Quite the opposite. I think the Habs are in the early stages of escaping mediocrity and shouldn't rush the process. I have no objections to moving players who either won't be there when the Habs are genuine challengers or would be integral to building a leadership core that will pass that experience to younger players. For example, playing with a guy like Weber will teach younger players how to approach the game, how to live in the Montreal fishbowl, and how to work consistently for 82+ games. Would I be trading Petry? Sure, but not for two mediocre players and a pick in the 20s. If you're doing that trade, ask for Noah Dobson, who is at least a known commodity.

It's not clear why Carolina would want Tatar any more than Montreal would. Both are building from the ashes. Tatar's not going to be a difference maker for them. Could he be for Columbus or slower teams like SJ or Anaheim? Sure. The issue wasn't trading, it's the dance partners you were imagining.</div></div>

If that's the only issue then I don't see why this would be a one star armchair or a "dream". I'm quite high on Vande Sompel too, I think he can be another Mete. You can't get Dobson or Wahlstrom for Petry, telling you that right now. And if you listened to anything Carolina's owner has said, you'd know they'd trade for Tatar in a heartbeat if the chance to appeared. Dance partners can change, I'm just spitballing here put a little something together in a span of 10 minutes, for fun. Just what their worth and teams that might be interested is all, don't get your panties in a bunch over nothing buddy.
