i think barron as more to learn from the ahl then guhle. guhle is already strong enough for the nhl while barron needs to get better on physical 1 v 1

If we have to retain and trade Hoffman for nothing, I rather keep him</div></div>
you'd rather keep hoffman which would mean ylonen or wright missing a crucial year of developpment? and petry's situation is to complicated for him to bring such return. he's shown he's not a team player and how toxic he can be if he's not happy.

I think this trade would be faire if petry had only 1 or 2 years left to his contract. but he's gonna be a negative value at the end of it so you need to acount for that.

why? petry hasn't played great hockey last season.. he doesn't have the value he once had

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>Some thoughts:
-That may be the closest to fair deal for Petry that I've seen in a while...$5.5 x 3 isn't horrible.
-:tearsofjoy How is Shea Weber a positive value pickup for Seattle?
-Yeah, someone might do that for a few months of Byron retained...not bad.
-IMO Drouin will have to be more than just healthy to get a 1st at the deadline...he'll have to have completely ressurected his career.</div></div>
first thanks for your feedback.
Then, the weber,s contract is a situation that has been talked about during last tdl. it seems that ari is very interested in having his dead cap.
And for drouin he was playing very well before he had his injury.

There’s no shot that team jumps over toronto, tampa, florida, and boston, which means that the only hope is for a second wildcard spot. I don’t think theres much of a chance of jumping over the caps and islanders either. Ottawa should be squarely ahead of the habs, and buffalo probably would be as well.</div></div>
i see this team competing for playoffs but not making it. i just meant that we won't have alot of chance to be top 3

the entry zone really seems like the biggest problem for caufield and zuk and ylonen showed that it's one of his strength. that's why from the guys we have now he seems like the best fit

Lefty
High hockey IQ
Good puck skills
Great shot
One can dream can’t he?</div></div>
i disagree there. caufield and suzuki are struggling at 5v5 so i'd like a good puck carrier next to them and i don't think that's Roy. i see someone like ylonen being more effective there

which rookie makes the team next year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jay27</b></div><div>To answer your original question though…
Poehling, Ylonen and RHP are locks in my opinion on offence. I’m a big fan of RHP and the way he’s played in the AHL the last 2 years should be more than enough to give him the benefit of the doubt. Roy only gets a spot if he proves he can stick in the top 6 otherwise he goes down and Heineman spends a year in the AHL.
On défense Harris is the only clear choice in my opinion. His game just looks to be NHL ready such a great skater. Barron really depends on if Petry gets moved and they don’t replace him. Guhle I see spending a year in the AHL unless he leaves the Habs no choice during camp. Brook may not even be back and I wouldn’t be surprised if Norlinder is used as a trade chip with the logjam on the left side.</div></div>
i like your take and for me Roy is the guy to look at. i think that with his performance last training camp he showed he was not far away from the nhl and that,s why i'm very looking forward to seing him next year.

i agree but Harris is at that point were he needs to be in the nhl because he's played against man and dominated. guhle can still learn from going to the ahl and facing older guys.

Thread:
which rookie makes the team next year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>Poehling is not a rookie anymore, last season was his rookie season.
As far as the forwards go, I think IF we get Wright he definitely starts any other drafted player goes to Laval. Yelonen gets a shot if one of Drouin, Hoffman, Armia or Byron are not with the team anymore. I think outside of that Roy might get a 10 game stint and the same with Heineman but unless they really light it up the will both be in Laval. Mysak for me is a dark horse, he is sneaky good and could surprise coming into camp, everyone else is Laval bound up front.
As for the D only 3 names stand out for me, Barron has a spot to lose due to our lack of RD depth. Harris has shown well as well but he is not replacing Romy or Eddy in the top 4 so if Guhle shows he is NHL ready and can keep up with the pace I feel like Harris might end up in Laval as well. the caveat of course is barring trades or FA signings, cause that would change everything.</div></div>
i love guhle's maturity but i don't think he'll take harris's place. even more so if harris plays more games until the end of the season. for the rest i completly agree!
