Karlsson trade
If the Sens are getting rid of Ryan for not producing on an expensive contract why would they take Eriksson back?
If a Stone extension is signed with Calgary then that it is a fair trade I would say.
I don't think that is enough of a package for Coyle. I would say a minimum 2nd at the least.
Florida moved Bjugstad from centre to the RW. Sending him away for a centre who can play the LW does not make sense for Florida when they already have Huberdeau and Hoffman on the LW.
I would also say that you would need to offer a lot more to get Faulk from Carolina. Maybe Darling brings down the return for Carolina but I still say that a mid-level prospect, aging injury prone goaltender and 2nd round pick is close to enough.

Frolik will never be on the first line unless there are like 4 forward injuries of other RW's & LW's to Neal, Lindholm, Tkachuk & Bennett.

Cup Mode On
I would not by any stretch say that Tkachuk is better than Stone (coming from a flames fan).
If this were a deadline deal and Calgary had contract in place to resign Stone, then I think it's a fair deal. Valimaki is a high-end D prospect. If Stone wanted to stay in Ottawa he would have signed more than a 1 year deal as he had the leverage in his contract negotiations, even if Melnyk was cheaping out on AAV for a longer term deal. Seems like a low value to get for Stone but it's a better deal than having Stone leave for nothing, in free agency. Stone is a very very good RW.

Deal with Detroit. What do you think?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SammyT_51</b></div><div>First of all I like Braun and his contract. Second of all I thought they might want RHD that would be good on both ends of the ice since they have a lot LHDmen in their system so it was no for Joakim Ryan.</div></div>
Detroit isn't trying to be good, so there would be no point in trading for a D-man that would "make them better." On top of that, AA is underrated & Detroit is planning to give him a bigger opportunity this year, Especially if Zetterberg can't play. If you want this there would have to be a bigger prospect going back, since Detroit is high on Jensen, even though I think he is crap.

I'll take Reimer, but if its for a playoff run then the Flames aren't going to get rid of Frolik. Unless someone is on the injured reserve to make room for the cap space there isn't a way for that to work.

RHD problem
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jassan28</b></div><div>I’ll thank you for letting me know that, cause every time I go on hockey DB to check what side a defenceman plays at, it’s associated with their handedness. Right handed players play the right side while left handed players play the left side. Also,
Can you name me defenceman who are left handed and play in the right side or vice versa.</div></div>
You have never actually played hockey hey. Brodie, Daley, Hjalmarsson, Schmidt, Gostisbehere, Phaneuf did for years & I believe Hainsey plays RD in Toronto as a pair with Rielly as the LD, etc. Its literally an every day thing as most teams don't have an even amount of LD to RD such as Toronto. The same as forwards who play the off wing. Shanahan, Ovechkin, Frolik, Kovalchuk, F. Forsberg, Tarasenko, Perron, Neal, Kucherov, Hyman. etc.
Good?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jassan28</b></div><div>If solving the RHD problem was so easy wouldn't Edmonton and Toronto figure it out already, Left handed means you play best with a lefty stick, unless I'm mistaken, I'm right handed and won't be able to even carry the puck if I was handed a left handed stick. Toronto would love playing Rielly on the RD if it was that easy to solve. Unless Brodie can play both hands, which would be a marvel for many teams to acquire, I didn't understand what you meant</div></div>
I don't know if you're trying to sound like an idiot or are just plainly dumb. LD = left side d-man and RD = right side D-man. d-men can play both sides wow

I still like Bennett enough to keep him for a bit longer, even if it does diminish hos future trade value, if it comes to that. He played well last season but wasn't finishing his chances.

The 26 that make the trip to China
I see Klimchuk making a good push for a 4th line spot. Great all around player. Good skating, good skill. A little small but plays hard. Dedicates hard to fitness and nutrition. Does not appear to have the injury woes that he did in Junior. Most likely though it will be a rotating cast of Hathaway, Czarnik & Lazar for the final 2 spots until Mangiapane, Klimchuk & Foo play well enough or injuries get them called up & into the lineup full time.
Andersson is NHL ready but I don't see him playing LD, and he won't play RD over Brodie, Hamonic or Stone, until injuries happen. I also see Valimaki getting the 6th D spot over Kulak & Andersson. Valimaki is very underrated & I see a straight jump out of Junior. The only thing he doesn't do too well on is the physical/body contact portion of the game.

The 3M line is beastly and should be kept together
Bennet and Jankowski should regress upwards with Lindholm.
Ryan and Czarnik make a scary 4th line.
Rittich marginally better than Gillies.
Keeping the 3M line together when every other Flames fan I have seen on CF has tried to break them up is 5 star worthy on its own. The rest is just tasty icing on a delicious cake.</div></div>
The 3M line should be dismantled. They got manhandled last year, & Frolik does not provide any offence anymore. Put Lindholm on that line and you get more offence with decent deffensive awareness.

That is an absolutely ridiculous trade. Brodie plays RD better than LD and excelled at it in the past. Valimaki is our top prospect and has the potential into a do it all top 4 dman within 3 years. Dube was one of the last cuts from main camp last year. & also have a 1st round + Bennett for Greenway an unproven prospect who has potential but only played 11 games is way too much. I get Dumba is from Calgary and it would be cool for him to play here but there is so much ridiculous in this trade. Calgary would never make this deal. I would make this deal in a heartbeat if I was Minnesota.

Calgary Flames 2018-2019 Roster & Thoughts
Yeah, honestly I don't see him actually making the team. It seems like he just doesn't excel at one thing enough to make the jump. I don't envision him playing for the Flames. I do however know that Giordano told him at last years camp to "...keep it up & you'll be here full time" so who knows. Dube is sneaky good and wont be a star or a centreman but he will play in the NHL as a winger eventually. After all, he almost made the team out of last years camp. Yes ,Ryan will go up & down depending on the opposing team. I also don't watch Andersson enough to know if he plays the left side well, because that's what he would be playing for the Flames, unless there is an injury to Stone or Hamonic. 6Dman spot will be tough in between Kulak, Andersson, Valimaki & Kylington. In the end I think Kulak is gone by the start of next season.

That is true that could be a factor. There is no other option really to play with Hamonic though. Giordano-Brodie is virtual lock. Stone won't play left side with Hamonic. Kulak is not good enough to play top 4. Valimaki remains to be seen. Maybe he moves up there at some point. I do believe that Valimaki will be great. That leaves Hanifin with Hamonic. Whoever plays with Hamonic will be playing some pretty good opposing teams forwards.
However, maybe Peters switches it up and Giordano plays With Hamonic as a shutdown pair. Hanifin plays the left side with Brodie on the right, & they take on the offensive roles. Brodie is one of the best skaters in the league so he has the ability to catch up after bad plays. With the exception of catching up to McDavid & Mackinnon, they're too fast hahaha.

Calgary Flames 2018-2019
Bennett is a former 4th overall pick, who had a solid rookie season, but has noticeably regressed the following 2 years. Seeing him play he is a hard worker with lots of skill, grit and defensive play. Had a horrible shooting percentage last season but constantly has more takeaways then giveaways. In my opinion he still has good value, and is a younger version of O'Reilly but also may never be as good.
Hamonic, is a player who teams were lining up for last summer and the year before. Had a very slow start to last season, but is a good defenceman who plays physical, good defensively, can skate and makes tape to tape passes. IMO if a defenceman goes off of Calgary this summer it will be Brodie, after his horrible season paired with Hamonic. They didn't mesh. Before this season Brodie was constantly a top 2 d-man on the flames since the 2013-2014 season, and I would hate to see him go, especially if he can play like his old self. This is the reason I would prefer to see Hamonic go, even though we just traded for him last summer.
McDonald was the first goalie taken in the 2014 draft 34th overall (before Demko from Vancouver lol). Not nearly as much value in him as there used to be but the value in Bennett & Hamonic make up for it, especially since O'Reilly's contract is so large, and the flames do not want to pay anymore more than their Captain, Giordano (this is why there was a tiny holdout from Gaudreau before the 2016-2017 season).
Anyways, from fans of different teams we have our own opinions, maybe a late draft pick gets thrown in from Calgary but they already have so few I doubt that would happen.
