Just because he is Ottawa's best defensive RD doesn't mean you cant do the deal.

Its like saying Edmonton wouldn't trade Zach Hyman who is Edmonton best RW for Adam Fox. Edmonton would make that trade all day long and figure out what they are going to do at Right wing after.

Anderson and Campbell basically offset each other. There is no way Edmonton is going to trade a point a game defenseman in Bouchard. Habs would take this trade and run if it was offered to them.
