Jets ideal long term outlook situation
Marino is nearly untouchable. I doubt the Penguins would do Zucker straight up for Wheeler, especially with his cap hit. Wheeler, a prospect, 2021 1st for Zucker and Desmith.

Don't see getting that much out of horny. Hopefully we do.
As for Toronto trade... Saw reports of them interested in Murray, they have so little cap space.
Bjugstad will most likely be traded.

Nobody ever knows the NHL market for players. Never thought we would trade gally, addison, and a 1st for zucker. Hoping as a penguins fan we get a haul for murray.
Also not sure pens would get that from avs for mur. Just read that in an article.

This kid was an absolute stud for us, great two-way dman. It would take a haul to get him. I see him as untouchable. GMJR said he will end up replacing Letang when he retires.

Hoffman is worse tho, I saw you say that, but I've never seen anyone else say that and was just saying that I'm sure some avs fans are gonna kill you for that trade, POJ may be ready, but I don't want to rush him, I'd rather he play in WBS, dominate (hopefully) down there and get called up at the first (inevitable) injury, Poulin had a lot of points, but his team was probably the best offensive team in the entire CHL, and his playstyle kind of needs him to be bigger and stronger than most of his opponents... I get the feeling he's gonna have a rude awakening when he first starts playing pro (and both Hallander and Miletic have been playing really good in a pro league for years)</div></div>
Who you think plays on Sids wing in 21?

I can see a first round pick and a couple B or lower prospects going to the Pens, but I can't see one of the top C prospects in the league. I'm not good with goalie trades though, so I could be wrong. I can say that it won't be the Avs sending a top prospect though. Newhook is probably more or less untouchable, outside of being included in a package for a young, established, high end C.</div></div>
Forsure. Like I said I read about this deal, did not just make it up.

You don't give up one of the better prospect in the league and a first in a deep draft for a guy who has trended the wrong direction.</div></div>
Understand your point. Look what the VGK gave up for Lehner.. Prospect, 2nd round pick, Malcom Subban. Murray will definitely bring in more than Lehner.

Newhook is a top 10 prospect in the entire league (4th according to Wheeler's latest article in The Athletic). It would be beyond idiotic to trade him for a goalie, especially when our goalie situation is extremely solid (eg. our goalie tandem was recently ranked No.1 in the league by The Athletic, and we have the 7th best goalie prospect in Annunen according to another The Athletic article). Not that The Athletic is the be-all-end-all, but it does give a pretty good indication of player values.
As for the rest of the package, I wouldn't even trade a 1st for that overall package from Pittsburgh. We are contending and not in a position to be taking on multi-year capdumps. It's also questionable whether it's even worth paying a late 1st for Murray straight up after the season he just had.
A collection of mid-round long-shot picks don't really move the needle much at all.</div></div>
Read reports about Newhook and a 2nd was offered for Murray or Jarry at the deadline.

I am anti-simon. I think he is absolute dog ****. Read Sakic "really likes" one of the penguins goalies and wanted one at the deadline and included Newhook. Also read POJ will be NHL ready next season. Poulin tore it up in the Q so I assume he will make the team next season.

Ahhhh yes. Starting goalie who is 26 with 2 cups, 2nd, 3rd line wingers plus a second and third round picks is just filler pieces. Maybe they could win more than 29 games with those guys next year ;)

You’re sad trade isn’t going to do it. Nhl teams are not in the business of giving away Franchise level dman with that pick</div></div>
Clearly you haven't paid attention. Have seen many reports about the 5 pick being traded.

Better get a hell of a lot more than pick 5 for one of the best wingers, and goalie in the league last season lmfao

But there was a point in time where Murray could’ve fetched a top 10 pick (look and Cory Schneider to NJD) and he can get back to that level. So yes the trade sucks, but everyone on here underrates Murray significantly. I still think he’ll be that franchise goalie for the Pens. Pens won’t sell low on him</div></div>
Duclair kinda makes it off. I only threw him in there if he was forsure not re- signing. I know OTT is looking at deals for 5 and I know GMJR will not sell low on murray and this is what i thought would work.

Nobody in the NHL would trade an elite winger for a pick they have no idea what he will turn out to be. A beast goalie who is 26 years old, won 2 stanley cups, who is coming off a rough year will still get a 1st round pick. A winger who put up 32 points in 52 games on a THIRD line plus the goalie will get you a solid pick. not to mention a 3rd, 2nd, and another winger who scores 30+ points a season on a small contract. Thank god you're not your teams GM lmao.
