Reality
Well this was a little depressing for Edmonton fans. I think Holland gets some flack he doesn’t deserve but he’s definitely set in his ways and that isn’t good for a dynamic league.

Svech has looked very solid with KC and PLD so it’s great to see him back there. As for ves, I’m curious to see if he takes full advantage of this situation or not. He has the skill to play there but hasn’t been able to use it yet.

You sir, are a smart man. I'm very sure that this is our best possible lineup. Except I'd be scared to see Keith-Barrie play in their own zone.
If the oilers added one more dman and another solid forward the team would improve by quite a bit I think

Have to agree here. Add Kassian to that AZ deal and 100% Edmonton should do that trade.

I dont understand how Korpisalo can "get his game back" when he has been terrible most of his career. He is rising one good season over 5 years ago. Since the start of the 16-17 season there have been 77 goalies that have started atleast 50 games. He has thee 6th worst save percentage of that group. He is a bad goalie.

Four pieces for Chychrun
Comping based on Seth Jones trade:
Holloway (12th pick-Sillinger)
Broberg (Boqvist)
2022 1st (Hawks 2022 1st)
2023 2nd (Hawks 2nd that was flipped for Jake Bean)

Personally wouldn't want to include either of Holloway or Bourgault, as Edmonton's forward prospects beyond them are bleak, and they can be legit contributors within the next few years at low cap hits. The 2022 2nd is tied up in the Keith trade so couldn't be used either.
<a href="/users/OldNYIfan" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@OldNYIfan</a> has it pretty dialed in above imo, although including Yamamoto means Edmonton needs to replace him in a separate trade.

I don't think that you'll have to add Holloway or Bourgault once you've included Broberg and the first. I think that your trade will look like one I have constructed for the Kings: Broberg (Turcotte), Yamamoto (one of Anderson-Dolan, Andersson, Lizotte or Walker), Samorukov (one of Faber or Grans), and the 2022 first.
For the record, I just can't see Arizona trading Chychrun.

Nashville deal is super interesting. I’m sure Nashville could have interest, Copp extended long term would be a solid piece for them. But I feel like a 3rd would need to go nashvilles way as well to balance out the difference in age. I think Perfetti could potentially see a call up if he performs extremely well at the WJC.
Heinola should be playing full time, not sure why he’s not. Also glad gus will finally get a chance to play.

I had been looking at that as well. Of all the pairings with 10mins TOI or more, the only pairing below water is Nurse Barrie.

What do you think OTT would want? Brännström's value isn't super high right now given he isn't being played in a still relatively weak Sens line-up.</div></div>
would think the sens would want to recoup a 1st even if it means adding a bit more value. Ideally an actual t6 forward or potential t6 forwards prospect (centre or RW is ideal) would be the return. Mcleod is a good shout though i wouldn't be completely let down if they made this move, i think he has pretty good middle 6 upside and could be a good complement to the centres they already have (theyre pretty much the same age aswell), although id like to see some more success from him in the NHL before Id fully consider it. Oilers maybe add another piece to push it through but the swaps not the worst, and i question if the the sens would really get a true top 6 prospect back like they probably want at this point aswell

Reported interest in Kravtsov
As a Jets fan, although its an overpay, I do like this trade. We will see how he plays.
I also like this lineup, except Harkins and Copp should be swapped. Harkins and Lowry showed some great chemistry last night.
Copp showed last night he doesn't belong in a fourth-line role.
I also like the idea of Perfetti being in the top 6. He's better defensively than Connor. Last night Connor proved that he's not capable defensively, he's all offense.

Reichel - Gustafsson - Nash

Seriously though, if Rashevsky pans out the Jets are officially one of the best teams at drafting forwards.</div></div>
Yeah jets have done pretty well drafting forwards. I think Rashevsky is going to be a stud. Super under the radar, and is having a great year in the KHL. Don’t mind him extending his contract over there 1 more year as timing should work perfectly for when wheeler and and Copp are likely no longer in the top 6. Allowing Perfetti and Rashevsky to jump in.

Stanley - Kuzmin</div></div>
Pretty sure Samberg was playing on his offhand with the Moose last season.
I wonder what the cap implications are next season with the Dillon and Schmidt acquisitions and some guys needing raises, what are PLD, Vesalainen and Harkins going to cost? Copp too if he's sticking around though I really hope he's not.
Hopefully some of the Jets RHD prospects can force themselves into the mix, thought Kovacevic had a great pre-season, Gawanke looked good too.

Can someone explain the recent obsession with demelo
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ash</b></div><div>Our RD is weaker than our left, and so far our LD prospects (Stanley, Heinola, Samberg) haven't played on the right side so far. While DeMelo is an unexciting player, he plays a solid defensive game and has brought out the best in Morrissey since Trouba left.
As far as Copp goes, he's somewhat expendable given how stacked the Jets' forwards group is, especially with Perfetti, Lucius, and Chibrikov in the pipeline. In short, the fanbase currently feels steady defenseman is more important than dynamic forwards.
In any case, #FreeVille</div></div>
Exactly what you said, fans feel a steady RD that can play anywhere is more important than Copp. I personally would rather get rid of DeMelo and have Heinola play a full season like you said.

Winnipeg is honestly fairly quiet when it comes to media. During media appearances there’s probably 8-9 reporters at most and they’re honestly not that hard on the players. So media isn’t an issue here, also they don’t usually get bothered when they’re out and about in the city. I see perreault all the time who’s a fairly well known jet and he’s hardly bothered, seen many players at the malls and have never seen them bothered. I think people just really don’t like how cold it gets and the taxes. The organization is top notch and anyone who’s been apart of it will say that, even the ones who left like laine.
Stastny continues to prove his worth on and off the ice, and very well could become a front office employee. A scout or another position along those lines. I thought Schmidt was a no go due to the NTC, but stastny apparently is the trade whisperer. Likely because of his two great stints with the organization and the city.
