SEA may want Gauthier but replace Robertson with Nils and I think it's pretty close. I think Korzcak and Nils and a conditional 2nd get it done. Love Yanni.

That deal doesn't cut it, IMO.
Honestly, with the love Seattle has for the player (voted team MVP) and asking almost 2.6 million retained for each of the next 3 seasons, I can't imagine the price is anything NY would want to pay. If I'm Francis I wouldn't do it for less than a roster player, prospect, and a pick(s). I would want the name Cuylle or Lundkvist attached, value of the player/pick amended as necessary. Just my thoughts

NHL has done 4 OS in the last 10 years. I think there is an unwritten rule among the GMs. I like Cirelli a lot. Great defense. However he needs to improve offensively, most of his goals are dirty goals in front of the net, needs to have a better shot. Face off percentage under 50% that needs to get better. Still young so can grow but I don't think I'd do 6 at 6 yet.

Lemieux for McNabb
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ashaw9377</b></div><div>But it does matter. I think Lemeiux as a player is fine and he does bring some value like you are saying but to me he is replaceable. If the Rangers can move him for something of greater value I would do it. McNabb is a guy who has played over 19 minutes a night over the past 3 years, plays a physical game, blocks shots, and is an affordable LHD until the young kids are ready. As good as Miller projects to be it is unrealistic to expect him to step right in and play top 4 minutes.</div></div>
I agree on all points just think it should be georgiev as you can't keep lehner and you can bridge georgiev for relatively cheap until fleury expires, that and lemieux is cheaper and more of a need for us

Berggren is a lot better option if you're just focusing on the Red Wings. Cates is a little low on your prospect compensation if you're looking to trade in division. You'd have to look at Brink at that point...
And you're vastly underselling ADA</div></div>
Dude. you are exhausting. I want to see max return for NYR players too, but you make Toronto fans look reasonable and well thought out. I cant take your feedback seriously anymore.

it depends, strome did look really good at the end of the year and is on a decent contract.. even if he produces at 75% of his last 27 games (he had 22 points), that's still 50 points for the year. not bad production and he wasn't a detriment on the ice either. It really all depends on what happens with Namestnikov-- i only see them getting rid of one of them

2019-20
Few issues
1) Overpaying Lemieux by about 425,000. He isn't arbitration eligible, his negotiating rights are far from ideal, he takes a 2 year deal at 1 million a season
2) Brendan Smith will not be our #6 defenseman, I don't see anyway he beats out Hajek and Rykov, let alone both of them. If somehow he isn't bought out or traded, he will likely start in Hartford
3) Buying out Shatty is so short-sighted. His numbers aren't bad, 1 year removed from knee surgery, playing on a total dumpster fire defense and lastly his 6 million dollar dead space cap hit next year is a death sentence that I like to think Gorton is smart enough to avoid.
I do think the trade is realistic, though if we retain salary I'd like to get a better pick since Vesey got a 3rd and Namestnikov can play all 3 forward positions and is a complete player.

Asking Price For Kreider
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sagecoll</b></div><div>Kreider extended contract is anywhere from 6-8 mil for 5-7 years.
In terms of value:
1 Full season of Kreider = Deadline deal for Mark Stone = Your best prospect (Valimaki / Andersson) + 2nd
Kreider Extended = Your best prospect (Valimaki/Andersson) + 1st + 3rd or equivalent value
So the easy way to mock it up would be Kreider = (Your choice of Valimaki or Andersson) + 4th + Conditional 2nd (which turns into 1st if he resigns). The good news is that the potential 1st would be a 2021 pick not a 2020.</div></div>
Mark Stone got 12 playoff points in 7 games, 5 more goals and 21 more points than Kreider in the season. He is not a comparable. Vali and Ras were off the table for him. We supposedly had a deal with Ottawa the night before the TDL (my guess is Kylington was involved) but the Senators decided they wanted Valimaki or Andersson so Calgary backed out at the last minute. They are not going anywhere. I think that Zuccarrello is a better comparable. Now Kreider is better so what if it was an unconditional 1st and a conditional 2nd that become a 1st if we win the Cup or something about Kreider's performance or something like that.

Smith 2 Get Buch
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sagecoll</b></div><div>If you replaced Smith with Staal and Bear with Yamamoto then it's a conversation.</div></div>
You chronically overrate our players on every one of these. Your proposal is preposterous. This return might be a hair light for Buch, but getting Smith off the books with no retained salary would be a massive win, and losing Buch only really hurts in the immediate short term, he’s not going to have a place on this team when Kakko and Kravstov develop into top 6 RW’s. We could ask for a 3rd round pick or something equivalent in addition to Pulju and Bear but if we want to move Smith, this is realistic.

I don't think I have ever seen a proposal from you where you didn't drastically overrate a Ranger player for an outrageous return. I want the best package I can get for the Rangers in any trade. But you have to be somewhat realistic and keep it in the ballpark from time to time.

Pass. Rangers give up 3 of the 4 best players in the deal, while saving under 2.5m in cap space. And Nugent Hopkins is only signed for one more year after the current, and will want a raise from the 6m he's already making and imo not worth

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ashaw9377</b></div><div>Why don't you run Mark Stones numbers and compare them to Kreider. If I knew how to get that chart in this thread I would do it. Stone is superior in every single category. What was he traded for? Brannstrom, Lindberg, and a 2nd. And this was with an extension in place not for a pending UFA. Plus stone is younger.</div></div>
not to mention that was at the deadline when prices are higher. NYR don't have a ton of leverage in negotiations with other teams on Kreider right now... there's also not a ton of teams likely calling for him, ESPECIALLY since NYR need to shed salary with this trade and can't take a contract back.
I wouldn't love Bowers and a 1st but I wouldn't call it a bad deal. I think COL has the cap space to use for negotiating though, so I would counter with
Kreider + Smith (1mil retained) + 7th
for
Barberio + Bowers + 1st
