Why don't you run Mark Stones numbers and compare them to Kreider. If I knew how to get that chart in this thread I would do it. Stone is superior in every single category. What was he traded for? Brannstrom, Lindberg, and a 2nd. And this was with an extension in place not for a pending UFA. Plus stone is younger.

Now that think more about it, looking at these:

I don't think the last one is unfair, I just feel like the Rangers could get more. Kreider isn't a true "rental" you are getting him for the whole season. Its not like he's playing 27 games so for me the starting price without an extension would have to be a 2nd + a prospect with a conditional pick based off of him signing. That being said if this was the type of deal they made I wouldn't be upset.

I figured giving up two, 2's (potentially) &amp; keeping the first would be better for COL.
Bowers &amp; 2019 #47 for a rental Kreider is less than the return NYR got for Hayes. The conditional 2020 2nd if he was extended by COL would still be a solid deal for both teams...
Sakic doesn't give up a 1st rounder &amp; Bowers wasn't even one of his picks.
