I agree with your assessment of Howden/Andersson but the reality is Quinn doesn't. And if he wont give Andersson top 9 minutes I think it would be better for him to play 1st line minutes in Hartford instead of playing 6 minutes a night.

(OTT/NYR) - Ebert for Namestnikov
I find it funny how all offseasons every trade on here from the rangers prospective involving namestnikov was considered outlandish when they ask for a 2nd from a contending team yet getting a 4th from the worst team is the rangers getting fleeced? If there was a better offer during the summer dont you think the rangers would have taken it instead of buying put shattenkirk and having 6M+ in dead cap space next year.

I honestly don't think either of them have a place on this team long term. Strome's value will never be higher than it is right now. With 3 second round picks Ott can afford to take the chance on him especially since he is an RFA. But if Namestnikov was the one on the move I would have no problem with that.

You were the one using these charts to justify your asking price. Without analytics kreider is an average player who has never scored 30 goals. I dont believe hes average but I think you overvalue what he is. Anyone can skeee stats to support their argument.

Can you help me find all of these forwards that are much better than Kreider, I'm having trouble.... Seems like anything less than a top 40 prospect + 1st + would be an undersell....it doesn't matter what Colorado would do...you go to another team then. Nashville, Florida, Minnesota, etc.

Why don't you run Mark Stones numbers and compare them to Kreider. If I knew how to get that chart in this thread I would do it. Stone is superior in every single category. What was he traded for? Brannstrom, Lindberg, and a 2nd. And this was with an extension in place not for a pending UFA. Plus stone is younger.

Bowers seems like a pretty likely target for us too, he played for David Quinn at BU, and is coming off a down year so his stock might be low enough for him to be the add w/ the pick. The big thing is the 2020 pick though. I could see us getting Kaut if there's a contract extension in place prior to the trade.</div></div>
I don't have any issue with what your proposed. I think Bowers is a possibility as well. My point is if they wouldn't trade the opportunity to draft Newhook why would they trade him now plus add an additional 1st.

Colorado wouldn't trade the 16th overall pick (Newhook) at the draft for Kreider. Now you want him and an additional 1st and they are close? Mind blowing.

Kreider
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skeating622</b></div><div>I think thats too much for Colorado to give up (Bowers a 2nd-2019 & a 3rd-2020 for a Rental if CK does not resign)
Hmm, so we got a few interesting ones.
- Bowers (recruited by Quin to BU) & COL's 2nd #47 overall & a conditional 2020 2nd rounder if Kreider resigns with COL.
- Bowers and a 2020 1st - for Kreider (2020 is conditional that Kreider Resigns with COL
- Bowers & COL's 2019 3rd pick # 63 & a 2020 conditional 1st (lottery protected, if so becomes 2021 1st) if Kreider resigns.
- Bowers + COL 2019 2nd pick (47) + Conditional 2021 3rd (becomes 2020 1st if Kreider resigns, top 5 protected).
Now that think more about it, looking at these:
Bowers + COL 2019 3rd RD pick #63 + Conditional 2021 2nd RD Pick - becomes 2020 1st round pick if CK resigns - Lottery protected, if so, becomes 2021 first)</div></div>
I don't think the last one is unfair, I just feel like the Rangers could get more. Kreider isn't a true "rental" you are getting him for the whole season. Its not like he's playing 27 games so for me the starting price without an extension would have to be a 2nd + a prospect with a conditional pick based off of him signing. That being said if this was the type of deal they made I wouldn't be upset.

I figured giving up two, 2's (potentially) & keeping the first would be better for COL.
Bowers & 2019 #47 for a rental Kreider is less than the return NYR got for Hayes. The conditional 2020 2nd if he was extended by COL would still be a solid deal for both teams...
Sakic doesn't give up a 1st rounder & Bowers wasn't even one of his picks.
Heck i'd do Bowers & COL's 2019 3rd pick # 63 & a 2020 conditional 1st (lottery protected, if so becomes 2021 1st) if Kreider resigns.</div></div>
Not sure the Rangers take that. What about Bowers + COL 2019 2nd pick (47) + Conditional 2021 3rd (becomes 2020 1st if Kreider resigns, top 5 protected).
