(MIN/PIT) - Zucker for Galchenyuk, Addison, 2020 1st round pick

Wait 10 games when all of these people that have never watched Zucker but thought that the Pens should (grossly) overpay for him because clickbait bloggers said that he was good.. actually see him play and realize the truth.
Second most over rated player in rumors this TDL behind Athanasiou. The word "invisable" will float through Pens fans minds.

Wow bro you saved us a whole $83,000 with this buyout and probably got a defenseman of equal or worse value to replace JJ. Congrats!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Random2152</b></div><div>A players peak years END at 26-27 y/o.
A player goes into serious decline around 30.
Josi will be 30 when this 8 year 9.059 contract STARTS.
He is a fantastic dman, of that there is no doubt but expecting him to be worth it past the first couple years is ludicrous. This is a bad deal through and through.</div></div>
A players peak does not end at 27 lmao, a players prime is over at 30 to 31ish, usually average players start declining then, with obvious exceptions (suter, giordano). The aav isnt bad, but i agree the length is a bit much.

(ANA/PIT) - Martinsen for Gudbranson
In most of my Pittsburgh posts I had Anaheim giving the Pens a fifth-rounder for him, so Martinsen plus a seventh isn't far off. This isn't a question of whether it's a good deal or a bad deal for the Ducks -- it was a necessary deal. Otherwise, the right side of Anaheim's defense would be Korbinian Holzer, the rookie Haakanpaa and three guys playing on their off side.

Why do people think that he is wort a ton? Anaheim ejected him and he played 20-30 solid games for the Pens... NOTHING there says high $ or long term. It says 1 year prove it deal for low $. That is what it ended up being.

I don't see the dollar amounts most people on here trying to give him. I had him in the 1.4-1.6 range on a 2 year deal.
He signed a prove it deal. I don't think it's much more than that. No hand shake agreement etc.. There isn't much history here for a player.
If he plays well this year he ends up with a long term deal. They just want more of a sample size to go off of before they sign that 8 year deal.

No it really wouldn’t cost a 1st to dump JJ’s salary. Not one single cap dump trade so far has had a 1st round pick involved.

When u THINK ur good
Ok, so I know how people on this site can be real assholes and just fire off insults, so I try to be very fair, but... What in the world are you doing?
1) ZAR for $3M+??? That's honestly just insane, or did you mean to do $1M per year for three years?. If the Pens hold on to him I doubt he gets much more than $1M.
2) Why does Boston want Gudbranson? They will probably re-sign Carlo for way less than Gudbranson and Carlo is probably a little better in certain aspects.
3) Why are they trading Rust for Sanford? You don't need to move him based on your lineup since you can remove about five players from your 28 man roster. Most teams carry between 21 and 23 players.
4) The Sabres just traded for Vesey. Why are they now trading him for a 4th line forward?
5) Oh yeah, again, why are they paying ZAR $3M?
EDIT: You must have changed something. I swear it said 28 players.

PIT should look to extend him this summer before he has a bog season and costs them $6M+ AAV. It's a gamble for sure, but like you said, they're risking losing Kessel for next to nothing if they don't re-sign Galchenyuk. They could probably get him for around $4.5M-$5M on a mid range term right now.

(PIT/ARI) - Kessel, Birks, 2021 4th for Galchenyuk, Joseph
This is an absolutely horrible deal for the Pens. They get an ok former 1st round prospect that Rutherford himself classified as “depth”. They also get a 20 goal, 1-dimensional winger, that has injury and attitude problems who also is 1 year away from unrestricted free agency. A very underwhelming return for PHIL KESSEL, who has 3 years left of a bargain contract.

I kno how all the Hockey geniuses on here crush Maatta bc of his speed only but the kid is a really good D-man and is def a top 4 type.
Pros on Maatta - Very good break out pass / very good in own zone / has some offensive ability / always in good position / good PK guy / plays #2 PP
cons Maatta - He is slow / needs to be more physical

I mean, not really. Kessel is clearly the better the player making less money. Subban is good, but thats it. Not even near worth $9M. Plus its been rumored as is. As a Penguins fan, I want Subban as far away from my team as possible.

The media and fan base is not at all different. As a matter of fact, it’s worse now. Keep dreaming.
