Fair value for Brodin?
I think it's close to fair value for Brodin but like someone else said I think there needs to be a bit more headed Minnesota's way. Either a 1st rounder or another decent prospect imo.

Bye Bye, Gals!!!
Granlund > Gally, so why are the Wild adding in more value? And only getting a 3rd rounder back isn't enough to fill the gap.

An Idea!
If you made it Mrazek instead of Raanta I'd do it. Mrazek's RFA status next year would make him a valuable trade chip again next summer and it still fits under cap.
Hard for me to give up Spurgeon for Manson and 1 year of Raanta so idk that I'd do that. Interesting idea though.

Wild 17-18

Greenway + Reilly might make more sense for Vegas. Reilly is waivers exempt, Olofsson isn't next season.</div></div>
I could probably live with that. Although I think I might almost prefer giving up Tuch to giving up Greenway; based on the limited knowledge I have of Greenway.

Keeping Dumba and other brilliant moves
I'm not a fan of the Granlund/Spurgeon trade either. I think it's a step back and for a team that's trying to (still) take that next step forward. And a draft pick just isn't worth it for this type of team, especially with the talent in the prospect pool as it is for the Wild.
I agree they need a big defenseman but I wouldn't give up your second-best defensemen and (arguably) best forward from last year.
I'd also go the extra mile and try to protect all three of Scandella, Dumba, and Staal, even if it meant losing a guy like Olofsson or Tuch.

Realistic LV Roster and trades
If the Wild are going to deal their first next year I'm sure it would be so that Vegas doesn't select any of Dumba, Scandella, or Staal. That's too steep a price to pay to then just have Vegas select a key contributor at another key spot.

MTL-MIN trade
Staal is already under contract for next year so it's just about affording Granny and Nino, while having some flexibility to make other minor improvements imo.
Coyle is a RW/C. His positional flexibility is very valuable, imo.
They have Gustav and Reilly but neither has shown to be ready for a Top-4 role. If Vegas selects Dumba I can't see them trading Scandella because then their defensive strength becomes a weakness. Unless they get back a cheaper top-4 D that is just as good, but then why would the other team do it?
Either way I don't see them trading Coyle because he's signed to a relatively reasonable deal and provides that position flexibility in a top-6 role.

MTL-MIN trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>marmon725</b></div><div>Hmmm an average winger and a 1st&2nd for a top 4 defender and a second line center? Seems pretty skewed for a team that wants to keep their top 4 and doesn't really want a right wing. Centers and right handed defenders are probably the two positions of need for MN.</div></div>
Agreed. Too light for MN.

Going young
I think Tuch and a 3rd is a bit much but I could honestly see them paying that price to keep Scandella, Dumba, and Staal.
To me Lucia or some b-level prospect and a 3rd and Haula is fair value.

Young Vegas
Why would the Wild give Vegas two players that they don't want to lose? Seems they'd be better off just losing Dumba than losing Staal and Scandella.
And then that trade for Lewis and Merrill is awful value. Especially for a team with basically no draft picks as it is.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mytduxfan</b></div><div>They're not getting Vatanen unless they pay for him.</div></div>
I mean, Vatanen is exposed in the expansion draft? So they can just take him if they want him without having to give anything up....
