So they added an overages feature and that 4.5m is already factored in, so you have another 4.5m to play with. (I just learned this today)

But I will say- trading Ullmark for another G makes no sense. The money saved is not worth the loss of talent, especially when you're getting no new assets back. I don't think the 3 mil saved from Reilly is worth 2 picks, but I think the destination is right. Barzal is probably untouchable and the Bs need to hold onto at least 1 first round pick. Trading Marchand absolutely ruins the culture.

Calgary just set the market for young cornerstone player trades. So to get Pasta is a comparable older star (Lindholm) a top 4 defenseman (Hanafin), a prospect (Zary), and a 1st.

I don't think this is the kind of package WPG wants. 2 overpaid full timers, a likely late 1st round pick, and 2 decent but rough prospects for a guaranteed 1C doesn't quite add up.
To get PLD, I see MTL's 1st (2024), and 2 high end prospects (probably keep Norlinder in there and add Jan Mysak) plus Pitlick. If they're willing to send Dach in the trade, it's him, a 1st, and a D prospect.

Djgsiaibr is right. I don't know what to do with team either. I like Yandle as a depth signing but don't want him on the team come crunch time. Underpay for Klingberg (he gets 7.25×7 I think), overpay for Niederreiter, I'd rather have him at 4.5x4. Can't trade Foligno and Nosek AND Forbert AND Reilly, no FAs will ever sign here again... but this lineup is very competitive just wish it were possible.

Honestly don't mind Stralman but I'd rather pay more like 1.5-2. Yamamoto probably commands more, Oilers consider him to be on par with DeBrusk and would just pay him the 4 million rather than trade for DeBrusk. Strome is apparently asking g for 5×6, so I don't think he comes here for that.

Things I like: Milano is a great add but we may need to offer a little more since we won't be the only ones in on him. 3×3 might be more of the ballpark. Bringing is Strome shores up a solid center lineup with Krejci back.
Things I don't like: bringing the rest of the Stromes. Didn't work for Carolina and the Stalls, wouldn't here. Trading Coyle, I don't think we have the means or capacity to get him to move, and honestly I love him as a possible C/RW with other options. Don't wanna trade Smith. Reilly gets us a pick, doesn't cost us one.

That probably doesn't get Tarasenko. First, Frederic, and a D prospect like Lohrei, and that's probably not the most competitive offer STL will get.
I want nothing to do with Vatrano and he won't come back, and that NSH trade is (I'm guessing) a joke. Smith has value, but not taking Foligno's contract value.
