Ullmark might be available for that, but I don't think they'll want a G prospect back. Goalie depth in the AHL is bursting with 3 backup caliber guys already, so no need to take on another

The value is still fair I just don’t see an easy way to find not 1 but 2 quality LD that we’d need if we traded Siegs</div></div>
Yeah and most likely, any LD the Devils go after, the Bruins would be after also with more cap

Your exact words in response to my post back then was:
"I’d do that even tho I’d hate to see siegs go"

I'd toyed around in an ACGM about doing something similar, using Ullmark to basically get a LD2 and a 2nd round pick. In that scenario it was Siegenthaler and a 2nd for Ullmark with a couple other pieces, who is a better fit than Wallman to play with Carlo I think. I don't think it's enough for Boston in this scenario.

No thank you, you may pay PLD for 8.5m for the 65 points he may get 4 out of the next 8 years, we are not interested

To move Swayman, a top 6 C or a first need to be the cornerstone of the deal. That package would work for Ullmark 100% but not Swayman.

Bruins probably accept that. Money for Colton isn't great but he could fit into the top 6. Better package than a lot of the ones for Ullmark I've seen

offseason
I don't love it. Someone will pay Gryz more, Swayman will sign 8 years and less money. 7.5 would make him the 5th highest paid goalie in the league (excluding Price) and those guys all pay workhorse roles, 60ish games a season, which Sway has never done. I have no doubt he could do it, but they won't guarantee him that much until he does.
That's an old top 6. Coyle, Marchand, Stephenson, and Marchessault will all be over 30 with term left to their deals which blocks younger guys and will only depreciate. I get trying to "win now" but this is for a 2 year new window, when there's no reason to really do that. If they move Ullmark, they bank on the primes of Pasta, Sway, Zacha, Carlo, and McAvoy to be a solid 4-6 year of being truly competitive. Need some young talent to add to that.

He out up 65 points and yes he's older, but he's 33. This is through his Marchand age season.

I'm sensing your audience doesn't want Saros for what you're asking. Can I interest you in a different 30 year old goalie you can get for a more reasonable package? Because Ullmark and J. Boqvist for Siegenthaler, a 2nd, and a LW prospect is totally on the table.

Bruins Post Marchand
You are the 2nd guy I see giving Derek Forbort a contract extension and a raise... what game do you people watch? Wotherspoon is cheaper and better, Forbort is GONE. Heinen gets more, PLD is a cancer, Swayman should only be moved for a stud and PLD is not one, you're not putting Poitras on the wing, and we already have 2 AHL goalies who can backup just as well as Allen who commands way more money.

Resign Henien please and thank you
People are giving you a lot of crap, but I like this. IF the Bs are going to move Ullmark, the Devils make sense. I'm sure people will argue prospects all day, but a 1st, a B+/A- prospect or fringe NHLer, and a mid round pick is the best package the Bs could ask for.
I love going after McNabb, he and Carlo would be a great pairing, and I think capitalizing on VGK overpaying Hanafin is the way to go. There are literally 15 LD coming on the market in the 25 offseason, if 5 of them make it to FA, the Bruins can capitalize and get a long term add there.
Boqvist might demand a bit more, Swayman deal is perfect, love giving Heinen term over cap (definitely need him back), DeBrusk might test FA for that but he should take it if he wants to come back. Highly doubt Lindholm takes a 1 year deal though.

Unless the Avs are literally trying to replicate what Boston did with Swayman- Ullmark, I don't see a need for then to add Ullmark. Other backups who can eat into Gorgi's 70 games/season who aren't that expensive. But, I don't have the package

Next Season
Love the effort but literally every single signing makes no sense.
-Swayman gets 8 years
-Hanafin isn't worth 8
-Samsonov is a waste of a spot, money, everything. Our AHL backups are better
-JVR gets more elsewhere.
-Zacha is worth 3x that
-Ullmark won't go to the west coast, RNH won't go to the east coast and honestly he isn't a good fit. We need a true #1 and he's a 2/3 on a good team.

I agree it's not enough, bur also the Bruins won't get rid of all their key pieces for Drai. Not when there's at least a chance they could get him in free agency. But a straight up package of Poitras, Frederick, Carlo, and 2 firsts is where I'd draw the line. It is very rare for a star for star trade to work out, and it takes having big pieces left over. That's why it worked out so well for Florida in the Huberdeau trade

Might I interest you in Charlie Coyle and a bag of mini muffins? For that package, the Bruins will just wait it out and shoot for him in free agency. One step forward, two steps back

No, and they wouldn't, I was just making a point against the other who said Pasta or McAvoy "would need to be involved". There is no involvement, it would be 1 for 1. But there's no reason to do it when a package deal or free agency would be smarter.

I like Marchessault too, but Stephenson can play center. I see him as a cheaper, shorter term Lindholm who probably has the same impact on the scoreboard. With how thin the center market is this year, I like him on a 3 or 4 year deal.

Either Pasta or McAvoy straight up is enough. Cornerstone piece for cornerstone piece is rarely the way these trades go though.

FLA needs to fill 9 roster spots with about 28 million in cap, doesn't sound that bad, until you realize both Reinhart and Montour are in the 7-10mil AAV range. If I was Reinhart, I'd be trying to bend them over and get them to commit. The longer FLA waits, the less likely it is he'll resign at all. You're probably correct though, so sure, give him the extra .75m/year and it still works here.
