Hadn't heard that. What's the fit issue? Personality? Because Boston sucks at managing personality problems (see Seguin and Hamilton).

MIN may be cap strapped but I doubt they're that cap strapped. Would love Rossi, but Parise and Suter's dead cap hits drop from 7.5m to less than 1m after next season, just in time to resign Faber and Rossi to bridge deals or invest long term.

A complete balanced team
I wouldn't touch that Norris contract with a 10 foot pole given his injury history and the fact that he's never really played to that level. One 55 point season (35 goals, I get it) does not get you and 8x8 normally. Ullmark can be used elsewhere for a C or for picks

Let's revisit this after your first round matchup against either the Bruins (Bs in 6) or the Panthers (FLA in 4)

The last 2 games the Bs and Leafs played just proved that Woll is not enough to beat Boston in the 1st round, let alone the cup. Next season is the last chance for the Leafs to win with Tavares and Marner still under contract. One of them is gone after that, if not both. It would make sense for the Leafs to go all in, but I'm not sure if its with Ullmark, even though he'll be the best cheapest goalie available.

Did... did you just give Matt Grzelcyk 5.5 million dollars? In this economy? No. I like Gryz and defend him more than most but for 5.5 million, we could have far better. Heinen gets closer to 1.5mil, no way that gets Drai unless he threatens to walk at the TDL and EDM is out of it.

Is there a forward you have in mind? This is our opportunity to get a core star player. Lindholm is a risk, but my feel is Sweeney believes in what he’s going to be in between Pasta and Zacha.</div></div>
I'm sure he'd be fine, I just don't think he'd be worth the 8 million. If it's shorter term, I'd be up for it, though I wish they'd get a guy who can really make Pasta better instead of trying to replace Bergeron. There's just more offensive Cs available next summer (Drai, Sherangovich, Tavares, Bennet, Bjugstad, Nelson).
This summer, I like adding Reinhart, that'd sure up the R side and we'd be more likely to package Lysell and move him. Hanafin, Skjei, and OEL are all worth signing for the top 4 on D. I also think Duchene, Sprong, Marchessault, and Terevainen all could be good adds to the top 6 whether we resign DeBrusk or not.

I think this plan only works if we keep Ullmark though. If we keep the 2 stud goalie system for 1 more year, we should bring in vets and pay premiums for short deals, but if we're pivoting away from that, we should be focusing on long term adds that will let us compete for the next 4-5 years of Pasta's and McAvoy's primes

I think NJ is going after Markstrom.</div></div>
And I think Lohrei projects better as a pure offensive defenseman and can pull easier matchups on the 3rd pairing. And Bahl and Carlo would be one of the hardest defense first pairings in the league.

I don't get that, Markstrom is older, more expensive, controls his own fate, but has 1 more year of his contract. How does he get more interest than Ullmark?

I don't see why BUF would trade Tuch (I saw the rumor too) but it would be great for Boston. Basically upgrade DeBrusk with a contract already in place that's a steal. Doubt this gets it though. Maybe Carlo as a centerpiece?

You comment like Trump talks and it makes me cringe. But yes, faith in JR is at an all time low, especially considering you're no longer getting a 1st to move Lindholm
