What do you see happening differently if this is the draft order?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TampaBayLightning22</b></div><div>:laugh I did Tankathon 100 times in no instance has Vegas ever climbed 10 spots. And on what planet is Conor Geekie a top 4 pick he's basically anywhere from 10-20 oa in most mocks.</div></div>
His brother Morgan plays for the Kraken.
Morgan was claimed in the expansion draft and has flourished since then.
If there were to be an off-the-board pick in this draft, it would be this one.
Especially when Ron Francis could use some good PR that would rehabilitate his image after tanking in the first season of the franchise.

Different set of circumstances.
If Arizona allows themselves to get beat by Dallas, Arizona jumps 32 spots in the 2023 draft.

Trying to figure out what Kevin Weekes would pay for Jesper Bratt as Sharks GM
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bunnymcfoo</b></div><div>The Sharks aren't giving up either their 2022 or 2023 1sts, that's already been made VERY clear from the front office, and I don't think a new GM is going to change that.
And frankly, this trade would make it impossible to give Timo Meier a new contract, and that's a non-starter.</div></div>
1. That was made "very clear" when Doug Wilson was running the front office and he's not anymore.
Whenever a team hires a new GM, they often take the team in a different direction.
2. Timo Meier's qualifying offer is 10 million dollars.
That also makes it impossible to give him a new contract.
Whether the trade for Bratt is a non-starter doesn't make any difference.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wadejos123</b></div><div>NJ declines the trade easily and Bratt declines the contract</div></div>
1. What would your asking price be from the Sharks if you were the Devils GM?
2. If Bratt gets a Timo Meier-like qualifying offer at the end of the contract, he might accept it.

1. In this post, I included a link where Kevin Weekes lavished Jesper Bratt with praise on twitter recently.
Can you spot it?
If Weekes becomes the next Sharks' GM, he might try to trade for Bratt.
2. What is your asking price on Bratt?

Like I said, you're probably looking at a Sam Reinhart/Mark Stone type of return.
This is what a Sam Reinhart type of return looks like ...
A goalie prospect like Leevi Merilainen + a 1st round pick with Top 10 protection for 2023
This is what a Mark Stone type of return looks like
Vancouver's choice of either Erik Brannstrom, Jacob Bernard Docker or Lassi Thomson + Tampa's 2nd round pick for 2022

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Canucks123</b></div><div>top 3 protected</div></div>
Since you're asking for JBD AND Boucher AND a 2023 1st round pick, top 3 protection doesn't even get the conversation started.
Keep in mind that Boeser comes with 7.5 million dollar qualifying offer and you're expecting Ottawa to work around it somehow.
The most you'll get is something like what Buffalo got for Sam Reinhart or what Ottawa got for Mark Stone.
Next time, don't be greedy

Just an idea for tomorrow's game against the Habs
Before the game, we should do a video tribute for Guy Lafleur.
Although he was never an Ottawa Senator, I can imagine a large portion of our fanbase were Habs fans before the Sens came into the league.
The video tribute would honour Guy Lafleur and his contributions to NHL hockey.
I think it's worth considering.

Before Brodie came to the Leafs, he was paired with Gio during both the regular season and playoffs for the Calgary Flames.
In their final year together, Gio and Brodie got past the qualifying round while the Leafs did not.

It's one game and the Leafs played really well from the end of March up until last night.
I might add the Leafs manhandled the Lightning earlier this month.
However, if the Leafs lose 8-1 again tomorrow against Florida, then I can see why you might be a little concerned.

1. It's not embarrassing because worse trades happen all the time.
2. Non value players from the Habs ... you mean like Chiarot, Lekhonen and Kulak??
3. Why worry about Toronto in the first round of the playoffs against Tampa ... just play like they are right now :awesome
