I think there is enough cap left to give debrusk term
Thanks for the input</div></div>
Still, performance-wise, DeBrusk has been inconsistent (especially this year). He CAN be a 25-30G+20-25A and get 45-50 pts but he needs to produce on a regular basis. That's something you can use against him when you negotiate. From the Bruins side, history shows they've given bridge deals to most RFAs (Grzelcyk, McAvoy, Carlo, idk if Kuraly/Lauzon fits here but you get the sense) after their entry-level contract.
If they have enough space and they can get him at a good price for long-term, do it. But I just think there's more chance he gets a 2-3Y deal, especially if they don't have too much cap space/flat cap/Moore not moved/Krug+Grzelcyk getting more $. We'll see in couple months.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wqrrior</b></div><div>Carlo is good, I have no doubt about it... I just think the Bruins fans are overly high on what he is though. A solid 2nd pairing guy that will be part of the franchise for a while, but he isn't an elite talent and I highly doubt he will ever be.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wqrrior</b></div><div>Carlo is a weird one. He's kinda under the radar of non-bruins, but vastly overrated by the bruins fanbase. It could be that Bruins fans are trying to educate the other fanbases on what he is whilst doing it to an extreme.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>McGruff</b></div><div>If Carlo, 2nd-round pick (passed twice by VAN) is top-4 on the B's, a PK specialist w/ Chara, and cored w/ Chara, McAvoy, Krug in the main pairs...then he's top-4 on each and every club in the NHL, including Vancouver...All the while w/ less than 300gms played; underrated bro.</div></div>
Carlo was 19-20yo in '16-17, played top pair minutes (ATOI of 20:49) and it's not like he was viewed as a top prospect or anything. Had his best season in three years (2nd best defensively). Only in '19-20 he's been even better. He's elite behind his blue line, but yeah he isn't an offensive guy so he won't be a top10/top20 or whatever because you have to be strong in all three zones. But if you only talk defense-wise, he's one of the best.
Also, he can play on the top pair if McAvoy is out and can play well
and what is Kase doing here
