Danault and Drouin together? Les Quebecquois would start a riot but it could make sense...

Marner Signs
The Leafs have the leverage at this point, A hometown kid sitting out after turning down what everyone believes to be a fair offer would be disastrous for his personal brand. I just don't see it happening.

Laine to Montreal
In terms of value it might be there. I just think it doesn't address the Jets immediate needs (2C and RHD)

I agree. Not much argument as to why it would be different. Unless he doesn't want to be there.

Canadiens 2019-20 Go Habs Go to the playoffs and beyond
Flyers already have plenty of options at C.
That first trade is horrible, Stepan is still a solid 2C. Alzner on the other hand doesn't belong in the NHL.
The oilers already have enough scraps.

Would this Cap Compliant team win the Stanley Cup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bf3351</b></div><div>No. You have top 6 players on your 3rd and 4th line. That didn't work in World Championship tournaments and it won't in the NHL. You need to pick 3rd line players and 4th line players. All those players playing 8-14 mins a game will make them worse. Pick the best 3rd liners in the league and the best 4th liners in the league. A good 3rd line would Dzingle Haula Sissons. A good 4th line would be Clifford Goodrow Greenway. Those are just examples.</div></div>
You are wrong. This would be an absolute match up nightmare for every other teams bottom 6.

They can't just get him to go on ltir. Prior to last season he played almost 82 games each year and yes he was hurt last year but there is no indication of it being an on-going problem. He hasn't signed yet because he wants to stay with the Leafs and is waiting to see what they can do

gardner does this make any sense
Habs have deep pockets I'd do 5 years so Gardiner gets guaranteed money and Habs have a lower cap hit on the deal. Seems like there are concerns about health and longevity. He also stays reasonable close to TO which seems like a priority for him.

Many of the bad contracts come off in 2 years which is when Pettersson and Hughes are due. Next year will be tight.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LoganOllivier</b></div><div>I don't care what Babs will wet his pants for. Babs is extremely overrated and his time in TO is going to come to an end quickly if he doesn't learn to evolve again. He has been thoroughly outcoached in the playoffs 2 years in a row and has taken zero responsibility for it. He's showing himself to be an older guy who has habits and favourites and he's going to wear thin if he doesn't get over his own ego.
As for Martinez and his "pedigree" he was never really a key piece to those cup runs. What will bring a cup to TO is the play of Tavares, Matthews, Marner, Rielly, Nylander and Andersen. The rest of the guys will contribute but the team will go as far as the stars take them.</div></div>
Just so we are clear I agree with you on all points. I was simply making a dig at Babs.
