Don't worry, He would have realized the error of his ways while on his way to the NHL draft.

Not a bad idea, but risky. I see a buyout on horizon for Hossa contract, that would be the best option for the Hawks. He is 37 with 5 years left. Maybe Arizona would take him once the Datsyuk anchor is cut free next year?

Everyone who thinks Miller should come back to Buffalo give a comment.
1 year to retire? Sure. Miller definitely is a shell of his former self. Not sure whether it was defence bad or Miller, but probably combo of both. As noted above, once buff shores up D, Lehner gets 1 shot. If he falters, Sabres need to go after a true bona fide #1G. Several teams have very solid backups that could push for a #1 spot. Seek them out next year in trade (Grubauer,Greiss, etc)

The Columbus Tortarellas
This only solves 1 problem for CBJ (removing Hartnell contract) but creates 3 more. It doesn't give us a #1 center, it doesn't allow for Bjorkstrand or Anderson to make the roster (unless Dubois stays in junior, which is likely), and we lose goal production (Hartnell/Karlsson are good for about 35 goals & 75 points), Hanzal will not produce that and he probably is not/will not ever be a true #1C. Karlssons stock is rising quickly and he just might be the #2C behind Wennberg in another year or two.

I guess they don't need them. All they need is Jackman to police up Kane. I could see him giving Kane a code red in the locker room if he gets out of line (for all you younguns, see the movie A Few Good Men for explanation).

Why sign wiz for 5m when you can have him for 1m-2m?
I don't think he has any other $4m offers on the table that you have to bid over.

The only true #1C CBJ had in 15 years was chased outa town (Johanssen). Dubi was never a #1. Stasny is a short term fix and hoping Wennberg figures it out in his 3rd full year. Maybe the CBJ will actually win the lottery and and get a franchise center. Or maybe learn to scout a little better.

Not to mention all but ensuring having to deal Panarin away due to cap constraints.
Maybe the white knight in shining armor will come along (Arizona) and save the day by taking the Hossa contract for next to nothing so the Hawks can drive the money truck up to Panarin's door.

Just fooling around (but realistic)
Where to begin. I'm not sure either of the trades makes the Coyotes a better team.
The signing of Wiz is high risk due to his injury and fully lost season last year. He hasn't signed by now, so it probably would only take half that much to sign him, at most.
Same for Pirri, he hasn't signed by now, I bet he signs for around 1.5M - 2M.

Panarin Out (Best Scenario Possible)
Chicago is going to need to replace some aging D men soon, how about Murray in place of Jenner, and maybe higher rated prospect such as Milano or Anderson rather than Bittner.
If you hold firm, I totally understand. The rub is, Jenner will be due a huge contract in the near future as well.

Great 8 Trade
I like the thought process. Cutting & running from Ovi while you can still get something of value for him. He hasn't delivered the ultimate prize in the decade-plus he has been there, so why not? I would love to see this trade, as the Caps deserve more. But hey, when Anaheim hangs up the phone, at least the seats are filled and the owner is still making money, right?

Also, Sonny Milano wasn't <em>that</em>great in the AHL playoffs, why are we acting like he'll make the team next year?</i></div></div>
I agree, keeping Hartnell is best option. Dumping clarkson contract is priority 1. If Foligno doesn't play well this year, maybe trade him over Hartnell. As for The playoffs, bjorkstrand, Anderson, sedlak & Zaar all had better showings than Milano.

You really don't want Shattenkirk, do you? With that package? You could wait & sign him UFA next year, or risk other team sending a great package for him with a conditional pick and giving him a great extension offer prior to his UFA in 2017. Step up Or step aside.

Retool: Trades with Oilers, Blues, Jackets
Columbus would say no. They only save $1m in salary for 2 years and get a 7th pick and 3rd pair D? They just got rid of Tyutin. Not going to take on a Sbisa. Not to mention Hartnell is still producing, 109 points in last 2 years.
