Why would a rebuilding Hawks team trade a prospect and a pick for two UFA's? Hawks decline.

I'm saying IF there isn't a first, the prospect needs to be a higher caliber. In fact, the prospect would need to be higher caliber anyway. Voit isn't very interesting. You aren't getting kane for a late 2nd and a B-ish prospect. I don't care how well Voit is playing in the OHL, it's still junior and he is still tiny. I won't buy in until he is at least playing in the AHL and producing.

You aren't getting Kane for Voit and a 2nd, if the pick has to be a 2nd you are giving up Knies, and even that might not get it done. You might get McCabe retained for a 1st and a 3rd, but it sounds like CHI wants a late 1st for him without retention and I don't think a 3rd gets you 2 more seasons of $2m retention. Robertson doesn't get you Lafferty, either. Robertson is not worth what he once may have been. Maybe if he had already produced significantly at the NHL level, CHI would make the bet that the injury stuff is a fluke, but they aren't gonna bet on his health and that he actually becomes an NHLer, not at his age and with his history. Laff is worth at least a 3rd and I would not give up a 3rd for Robertson.

Moves if Kane and Toews decide to stay pt 1
Not that I don't think McCabe is worth every bit of that, but I doubt LA is this aggressive at the deadline. I don't think they are quite there yet. Also, even if Kane and Toews aren't traded, I wouldn't retain on AA for that. I might not even trade him without retention for that.

And you are just a troll who needs to leave capfriendly and stop making awful propositions. You obviously have no clue what you are talking about with any of this stuff yet you spout it off with confidence, which leads me to believe you aren't even worth the time of your fellow TOR fans, let alone fans around the rest of the league. I will give you one thing though, you do know how to berate, belittle, and use unsubstantiated "facts" to support your arguments to those you are trying to negotiate a trade with. That's the way to get a deal done, for sure!

The ask for McCabe with full retention starts with a 1st rounder - which you don't have here. Not enough for Chicago to give up Jake, much less add a useful bottom-6er in Lafferty.
Meier deal is closer but I feel like it could get beaten. Niemela and a 1st is a good start, Robertson is kind of a question mark at this point due to the injuries. I think you gotta add something else at about a 2nd round value - either a 2nd, or a second-tier prospect (Hirvonen/Voit? not sure who the Sharks would target)

What a Kane Trade Might Look Like
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>babouie</b></div><div>So you think the righting is in the wall for this roster because of their age right ??? So why would they not be all in ?? This is best Bruins team I have seen yrs . They need depth because of there age because they might burnout playing every night in playoffs . This team should be all in this year . The point of playing is to win the cup not to look good in the regular season ( Toronto ) the Bruins will go into major rebuild for next season or the season after that's a given . All the more reason to be all in now . I would sacrifice 5 seasons of bottom ten finishes to win a cup without question . As would just about every team and player because that's what this is all about . I am a hawk fan aswell and feel the pain but knowing I got to see my Hawks lift the cup 3 times makes it worth it . Very few fans have seen their team in this day and age win three championships in ten yrs .</div></div>
Yeah, because of their aging players and the thin prospect pool. I don't think BOS should spend big because they are already the most complete team in the NHL by a pretty large margin and they have a really great team chemistry going on. You don't want to mess up that chemistry. If they need to relieve some of the stress off their older players they should be bolstering the bottom 6 and adding depth with players that can eat some of those minutes. They don't have to expend all of their high end assets in order to do that. Those assets are going to be VERY important to BOS in the coming years. I mean, if BOS is offering and Kane and Toews want out and are willing to go to BOS, we'll take it. But I very much doubt things will unfold that way.

Think Montreal would be willing to take him for something more along the lines of Matheson + Dadonov + 2nd + Ylonen but 1sts and top 10 prospects are likely off the table for that massive contract unless you are willing to eat like 2 mil or more for the next 8 years.

Did something happen that I'm missing? I doubt he elects to mutually terminate and I think they'd sooner just keep him than buy out his contract or retain anything substantial for 7 years. But, who knows what will happen. They might not care much about the consequences, at this point. They might care more about just moving on from Bowman's poor decisions. Which I wouldn't blame them for.
All I know is that if they continue to tank beyond this season and don't at least bring in a legit partner for him, he is probably going to be very miserable.

How much would Chicago ask? My guess is a top 15 pick, just like DeBrincat and Dach, in a better 2023 draft. Maybe something like OEL.</div></div>
If Jones wanted out of CHI, I'm almost positive Davidson would oblige. But the price would have to be right. A top 15 pick is probably right, and then maybe a prospect. That would recoup about half of what Bowman gave up. But, would he waive for MTL? Idk... Anything is possible, I guess. He may not have wanted to go to a Canadian team before, but he might go to a Canadian team now if it means getting out of this rebuild. Plus things are looking up in MTL, so he might look at that as a positive. But honestly, he is pretty quiet, so even as a CHI fan, your guess is as good as mine. I do know he has had a look on his face lately like he might not want to be in CHI anymore.

I'm on the fence about the Caps trade. On one hand, I think AA would be an interesting add, but Johansson has played very well this year and Khaira wouldn't have a place in the lineup, so I think the Caps would decline here. I wouldn't mind possibly making a small move for AA, but it would all depend on if it would force Snively down once the team gets healthy.

I think the canes would be more interested in AA (or maybe even domi again) rather than Toews. They could use a 3LW and depth scoring more than a 2C. Plus Toews wouldn't work under the cap unless we got double retention. For that price, I'd take Toews, but again, he wouldn't work under the cap.

Boston trade is reasonable. 👍🏻
One thing in your description - You can’t buyout Smith, the window closed a long time ago. And his contract expires at years end so he won’t be around for the next buyout window.

Colton Dach is tough to project. His WHL production suggests he could be a good middle 6 center, but his tools just tell a completely different story. He's just not all that talented imo. I would slot him in between greene and slaggert. I think Slaggert is a LW also. Would put him between Hayes and Kurashev (basically where Dach is now).
Just my personal opinions to are open to interpretation though

Looks pretty close. Colton Dach is definitely a center, and I would have the RD in this order: Mitchell, Regula, Rinzel. Rinzel has room to jump ahead but he's quite literally 4 years away from the NHL. Glad to see someone finally give Kaiser some respect. I understand having him below Vlasic for now but he might even be ahead. He's been awesome at UMD and going to go pro after this season. I also view Nazar as a RW in the NHL but we'll see what the hawks plan is as time goes on
