Draisaitl
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Oilers_29</b></div><div>No chance ahaha draisaitl 2nd best player In the world and arguably the best contract in the nhl</div></div>
Draisaitl is not the 2nd best player in the world. He’s all offence and no defence. Doesn’t compete without McDavid in the lineup and can be shut down when he’s the top guy the other team defends. Not to mention his attitude with the media.. add in that his contract only has this season and next year and he’s not as valuable as you Oilers fans think. Fox is one of the top defenders in the league - plays offence and defence very well, has a contract for 6 years at a very good AAV and he’s right handed. Right handed defenceman are so hard to come by and especially good ones.
Not one GM in the league would trade Fox for Draisaitl straight up an you’re nothing but bias if you say anything otherwise.

Unlikely but creative Who says no
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>blmanche</b></div><div>Probably remove either Zach Jones, or Kravstov or 2nd.
Again basing it off return for Yandle. Chychrun signed 1 year longer,</div></div>
Not sure exactly how much all those guys are worth but let's just say the second is removed.
They could do three things with their cap space + retention slot:
1) take unwanted contracts with payment and if they find their game flip them as rentals (retention is going to be needed)
2) sign ufas who are struggling or looking to prove themselves to 1-year deals, to attract them to Arizona they will have to overpay them, then they can potentially flip them at the deadline.
3) facilitate trades for payment
They could yield anything from a 5th to 1sts in each of those years, so a 2nd definitely won't cut it especially with them having to pay those real dollars.
Chychrun already has value and a ton at that, so it's not really worth it for them to retain on him if the package isn't getting significantly increased. The contracts that they often take are usually front-loaded vs Chychrun's backloaded contract, so they aren't paying as much in real dollars compared to the cap-hit. This allows them to reach the cap-floor while also keeping a lower player salary.

Few tweaks push for cup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>blmanche</b></div><div>He's a pending UFA, whose goal scoring popped earlier. I could see upgrading the prospect, but doubt Van doing better than a 1st and a high end prospect.</div></div>
Ya I think Canucks would want different prospects going back. Assuming there’s a bidding war (hopefully) I don’t think it’s outlandish to expect a 1st in this years Draft, and top prospect and maybe another sweetener especially with retention. Horvat is one of the best goal scorers in the NHL currently and if he can be had for less than 3mill I think that counts for a lot. Then again I thought Miller was going to be traded and they ended up signing him so Horvat coming back is also a possibility

I think that rental price is spot on for NYR and Bo, but I find it very unlikely that someone doesn't outbid that and VAN accept that.
But that is as far as I would go If I was Drury.

The way Bob is playing, he’s still a Cap dump at $5 mil per
ONLY chance u guys have to get rid of him is to eat half & add a sweetener
And even then, idk that any team would do it

For the win
Ottawa already has a logjam at LHD they'd be taking on an extra year at 2.5 on the cap with a bunch of RFA's to sign after that 2 year window. Also, with Sanderson coming in and Holden extended. That leaves our left side looking like this next year:
Chabot
Sanderson
Holden
MDZ (Honorable mention to Brannstrom who is LHD but plays right side).
No room for Nemeth and makes no sense from an Ottawa perspective.

Swap that third to a first and that could probably get you Leddy. The players going to Detroit don't really hold any value to Detroit.

Deangelo seems to be very well liked in the locker room, so I wouldn't be worried about that as a Leafs fan. The question is if an offensive dman is the best way to go.

Wtf is wrong with him in The dressing room? Everyone loves him. I wish the yotes still had him. I think a meddling prospect, third liner, and a late 2nd is worth a top 4 RHD.

It is but if the rangers decide to let Kreider walk, our wingers look pretty thin in terms of offensive production. Minus Panarin of course.
Guys like Kravtsov and even kaako are still going to take time to get used to playing with the big club. Also, Zucker is a cheaper player if Kreider is looking for around 7 million with 3 years of additional control.
With that being said, I do not see the rangers trading Skjei. Our left side is pretty thin unless Tony D can play the left side as some people have stated on previous threads.
