I know I'm in the minority here, but I think MIN takes a firm step back. I wouldn't underestimate what Suter brought and teams can now prepare better Kaprisov. Also, for the long term. That dead cap is just ridiculous.

Why? He isn't a first pair guy anymore. He's 37 and his game has regressed. McAvoy was already limited by Chara the past few years and you play another old dman with him. Grzelcyk-McAvoy were great together and here's an opportunity to play them together so do it.

What would Domi cost
I just dont see the point in trading Strome if we are doing it for another forward who is going to be an RFA. The basis of trading Strome would be to acquire someone in a position of need (LD) or someone that has a low cost or future cost certainty. Swapping him for another RFA forward doesnt make sense because Strome has developed chemistry with kane and already has chemistry with Debrincat. So to me we dont trade him unless it is for an LD or picks/prospect

imo that 1 for 1 MTL would do if Strome keeps up that production

Weird that 1 brother gets a ton of flack for having good production next to Panarin and the other goes unscathed while basically being unable to maintain a spot in the NHL without having Debrincat and Kane at his wings.
<a href="https://ibb.co/p1nb9zj" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/qDx7PsY/Screen-Shot-2020-04-04-at-5-58-03-PM.png" alt="Screen-Shot-2020-04-04-at-5-58-03-PM"></a>
I think Strome is fine, but he's really only as strong as his linemates. He didn't have that in Arizona so his production looked not great. In Chicago he's spent over 60% of his time 2 seasons in a row with Alex Debrincat and 50% of the time with Patrick Kane.
His defense is below average and his shot generation is poor. Put him with good linemates and he'll give them the puck and let them score. Put him with bad linemates and he'll give them the puck and watch them turn it over.
That being said, Saad and Kubalik are monsters. I'd hold onto them if I were you.

LD We need
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaptainFlynnt</b></div><div>Past two seasons:
- Saad: 162 GP, 82 PTS, 0.51 PPG @ cap hit of $6M
- Shaw: 114 GP, 67 PTS, 0.59 PPG @ cap hit of $3.9M
Shaw has a better point per game average while playing two minutes less per game. Shaw was pretty much unhealthy for the entire season in 2017-18 and he has still been better than Saad over the past two years.
Last season:
- Saad: 80 GP, 47 PTS, 0.59 PPG, 17:41 ATOI
- Shaw: 63 GP, 47 PTS, 0.75 PPG, 15:55 ATOI
You two are clueless.</div></div>
You're forgetting to look at all of the roles that Saad fills on a team and the speed he brings. He's a bigger guy that can create more space on the ice and doesn't take stupid penalties.
Saad also has a vastly better relative Corsi-difference percentage (5.1%) than Shaw (1.4%) this past season (not to mention Saad achieved this while being on a Corsi-deprived Chicago team).
You should really consider all facets of the argument before calling people clueless, because you can make yourself look like an ass.

Cozens, Turcotte, and Byram have been in the conversation for 3. I think he could be great but if he’s 2 years out then the Hawks may not want to wait/risk it.</div></div>
Listening to the hawks talk podcasts over the past couple weeks I've heard they wouldn't have trouble bringing him over to the NHL, even with his KHL situation. McNabb-Murphy is two defensive minded guys,, which didn't make sense to me and why I put Gus with Murph.

Entwistle and trades with OTT EDM
His Guelph teammates talk about him being "The Glue" that handles just about everything. He's not the star player, but a really responsible 2-way player that's pretty good at the dot. I would agree that he could pan out in a bottom 6 role.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>No reason to take on JPG for a 4th line role, he would be a 3rd line center and is he that much better the AA?
Kampf has 100% solidified him as the future 4C and maybe even 3C. Entwistle isn't going to play 3C IF he makes the team next year. He would be a winger.
I have mixed feelings on Kassian. Entwistle, if he makes the team, would be a good fit on the 4th line wing as he is a big guy with speed and hands at a much cheaper ELC.</div></div>
Also, I think Entwistle and Kampf can split time as 4C and 4RW next year. They both have the size and defensive ability, and I would love to see what Entwistle has got at both positions.

Pageau may be having a down year offensively, but he is 56% from the dot and would be an extremely effective penalty killer. He would be a good addition to the 3rd line, though I would prefer Jenner, Danault, or Lowry.

Draft day trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bluedemon5</b></div><div>Same, though I think Mitchell makes the team in 20-21 rather than next season and we would probably move Murphy for cap reasons. I feel like we have plenty of guys on the right side (even Gus) but no one really too solid besides Keith and Beaudin on the left. Fleury has the potential to be a solid defensemen and we've seen the Hawks be able to revitalize players with high potential who have been passed up in their organization.</div></div>
Gus's natural position is LD though. The only reason he's playing on the right side now is because of a combination of (2) reasons...Slater, Dahlstrom, and Forsling are natural LD and need ice time, but also Colliton wants him on the top pair and Keith is a LD.

I'd agree with this value, but as a Hawks fan I'm concerned about taking on YET ANOTHER D prospect to add to the backlog of people already trying to get ice time. Guys like Ian Mitchell and Chad Krys aren't just going to wait around until Stan decides it's time to sign them. They're both good D prospects and I'd rather have Ian Mitchell than Hayden Fleury anyway.

Sometimes he tries to do too much and ends up making costly mistakes. I think that's his biggest knock. But great skater and good IQ, could just use some more time to develop in his own end.
