I think Scheiflele and Helle are not moved
Seeing as how no nobtle NHL talent wants to play in Canada anymore (Thanks Trudeau) unless they are grossly over paid, I think its time for Canadian clubs to lock up their prospects that they deem a fit for the franchise on long term deals asap. For get about bridge deals. Canadian clubs dont have the leverage to use that unfortunately. As soon as your 22/23 yr old prospects entry level deal comes up, sign em to a 7-8 year deal. Get their best young years out of em. Draft at 18, return to junior, next season at 19, sent to the minor, pro at bottom or bottom pairing at 20 for a couple seasons, make the assemsment by 22 and lock em up until 30-31 when they are RFAs at 22/23

Oh I agree, any time I say that I get a barrage of comments saying how good the Jets are at drafting and developing and how important it is to this team.
Wonder if anyone realizes that other then 10th overall Perfetti the Jets only have Samberg and Stanley contributing anything since they drafted Laine 2nd overall. Think about that, since an early pick in 2016 they have a 10th overall pick playing for them and a couple 3rd pair dmen that could be replaced by guys on the waiver wire, sorry but thats not good drafting and developing in my opinion and one of the only other success stories in that time frame was Kovacevic who likely is just another 3rd pair guy but he was lost on waivers to keep Capobianco ffs! Its comical how this team operates.. lol

Not getting JVR is a head scratcher considering they are going into the playoffs down Perfetti. It's not a big deal trading 2-5 round picks for rentals. Unless they got hot in the playoffs, I don't see them getting to the conference finals. The central division is weak that they can win 1 round. I'm interested to see what they do now at the draft regarding PLD. I send PLD to a team for a second line centre, top F prospect, top D prospect and first round pick.

I wanted them to add some size as well. Jets are going to get knocked around a bit IF we make the playoffs.

Edit: I totally would've done the Sundqvist trade too, if you need some retention throw them a late round pick.
Ritchie-Sundqvist-Namestnikov is a good 3rd line by Jets standards ffs!.. lol

With 45+ trades... There's really no excuse for Nino being your one and only deal.</div></div>
The thing is a few small dumpster diving moves over the last few days and today would've drastically improved their bottom six which is AHL level righ now.
Chevy misses out on sooooo many deals that could help but he does nothing other then waiver claims or goes dumpster diving when his team is clearly going nowhere like he did with the Eakin, Benn and Sanford trades in recent years.
I'll give Bergevin credit for that much, he was actually decent at dumpster diving trades.. lol

Been seeing tweets that Stanley could be dealt to either Philly or the Caps for a depth piece. But even with that, as you said, its a waste.

Chevy at his post deadline press conference will have the same stupid excuse of “we like the group we have” after adding Kulikov at the deadline. It’s so maddening

2018 2019 all over again
First time i see a WPG fan realistic about his team situation. This is indeed 2018-2019 again.
If rumors about Dubois and MTL are true, and Scheifele/Hellebyuck wants out in 2024, i could see this team going through a rebuild/retool.
I personally think Dubois situation is similar to Trouba in 2019, and the trade value should be close.
For Scheifele, maybe something like Horvat if he's extending with the new team.
And for Hellebyuck, goalie market is hard to say, but Kuemper was traded to COL for a 1st and a 3rd in 2021. And Hellebyuck is better.

It is without a doubt, concerning.
Glass half full me is hopeful that this is a slump that all teams endure at some point in a season and that they’re just going through it now. But we will see.

Gags is so underrated. He does so many things for a team. He really helps out the young players. I would've taken him back on the Red Wings but we have 300 forwards. 🤣

He was awful lol, surely will be an extra PB guy. I thought Perfetti looked good, he should get a real opportunity for the year in the top 6. Gustafsson also probably makes the team as the 4th line C.

Watch him play in KHL after a few years struggling to make it into nhl.

Amen. Also I don’t think the Habs are in a position to give up the assets it would actually require to entice the jets to move Dubois now. Doesn’t really make sense for either party. And that’s not even getting into the cap he’ll the Habs are already in.

It's possible that good coaching could go a long way. Look at Calgary. Same group of players but better coaching aided by 3 guys having career years.
If the Jets could get some solid coaching and have a few guys overperform, it could go a long way for a positive turnaround.

Honestly I’m gonna sound crazy for saying this but I’d rather have Copp than Scheifele at this point. Copp reminds me of J.T. Miller before he went to Vancouver.
