Carlo. Then maybe. I personally don't like Evander Kane but there's no way in hell they're trading McAvoy. The management would get creamed.

I actually thought about doing Palat instead but Drouin is more realistic given that Yzerman really doesnt like him. Palat would take more to acquire if they even field any calls on him.

The main thing i don't like about it is the overpayment for Landeskog. Other than that, it looks pretty good to me. I, myself, think Landeskog is a 2nd/3rd liner.</div></div>
This is probably what Sakic would want. I do think its too much but you have to bite the bullet if you want a guy. I think Landy is a winner but i dont know if i'd be okay with losing Carlo.

A top prospect for 1 year of a guy whose been (over the last 3 years) as offensively productive as Ryan Spooner? I'd swap Spooner straight up or offer a 2nd rounder for Kane, but that's about it.</div></div>
Exactly, Sabres fans are delusional with the price for Kane. He's not much better than Spooner and way more expensive.

Yeah he was a last second throw in to hold down that left side on that third pair. Not many can play in CJ's lovely system. New system maybe he's a good addition. But i would love to acquire Wilson and Watson, especially Watson for some reason.

I am sorry to say but that's 100% not true, your comment about Nate Schmidt. Perhaps because the Caps have Holtby and stability in net they don't care to give up Grubauer, but as far as value goes, Grubauer > Schmidt. And in the mind of Tampa Bay, Orlov and a 2nd, considering the offers that have been reported, let alone the ones that haven't and have only been speculated about, would be absolutely nothing.</div></div>
What makes Orlov's value so low? And the Caps need defense not goal tending

In a world where the Washington Capitals finally learned their lesson about slow old-school players, they do not bring back Karl Alzner or Justin Williams. Sure, Justin Williams is as playoff clutch as they come, but how much did that actually help the Caps this playoff run? Seems like just wasted money to me when you could use some of that money to bring back Oshie, etc.</div></div>

Has anyone been able to watch any video of him or read up? i looked at his stats briefly in U20 Jr.A SIM-Liiga which were really good but the league i don't believe is highly talented.
Also would anyone mind the Bruins drafting Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen at 53rd overall? I would like the move. Finland has a good track record when it comes to goalies.</div></div>
That league That Koppanen plays in is supposedly the equivalent to playing high school hockey. At least that is what I've read on that. His stats are definitely intriguing and you hope he finds some success going pro. I believe he's going to potentially play for Illves. We'll see how he does against men. He has potential with his size but I can't read too much into his stats yet.
On UPL, as long as they don't draft a goalie in the 1st I won't complain when they decide to (if they do). I like this goalie class and it is very deep according to reports. I prefer some of the goalies over here but Luukonen seems like he has potential to be a good one.</div></div>
Koppanen is Krejci's typical big-puck protecting LW that he loves. So if he does perform with the big boys then it would be nice to see them give him a shot.

I've always been a fan of drafting a goalie every year just because you never know how they'll pan out. I'm biased when it comes to goalies as I like 6'3+ guys, unless your 6'2 but super athletic. This year I like the following in order:
1. Dayton Rasmussen - 4th
2. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen - 2nd
3. Jake Ottinger - 2nd
4. Maxim Zhukov - 5th
5. Kirill Ustimenko - 6th
I still have high hopes for DV, but its always nice to have a good pipeline of goalies flowing through a system.</div></div>
Yeah I love me some DV myself but as you said finding a goalie isn't like finding a top 6 forward. There are no sure things, it's definitely a tougher position to judge for potential.
P.s your outlook on goalies is exactly the same as mine lol. It's one of the reasons i love DV

Trade no one would see coming
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BreKel</b></div><div>What's the real point of the Pastrnak/Nylander trade? You're not going to get rid of Beleskey for a late round pick. You're adding to him to get him off the team. Unless things change, Boston seems pretty determined to get him back on track as well. Not sure they'll be able to move him and not sure the team wants to move him. I don't understand the Vatrano for a 3rd at all. You're trading a player who has shown he can, at worst, be a bottom 9 player for an unknown 3rd rounder in the weakest draft in a while? You trade for Miles Wood and send him to the minors? He's NHL ready. I don't think Jersey does that deal though.</div></div>
I wanted to see what it would take for me to get rid of Pasta and the only trade I would take that was realistic was Nylander. The age is just about the same and skill level. I actually believe Nylander is more skilled than Pata, and believe me i love me some Pasta. It doesnt hurt that Nylander is still under control and you dont have to back up the trucks until Chara is off the books and you have a cheap young D taking his place (like Zoboril and Lauzon).
I traded Vatrano because i rather see Kuraly on that 3rd line and Schaller on the 4th. He's not good enough to play on that second line yet (if he ever will be). I rather see them get someone that can play that second line. Maybe its not Bonino but its definitely not Vatrano. Also you're correct on 2017 3rd round pick. Maybe do a conditional 3rd rounder in 2018? But I also believe our view on his worth is not the same around the league i.e. Spooner.
As far as Beleskey. I think he's being undervalued. I believe that he could go to a team and be that solid 3rd line 30 point guy. He did have a down year but a GM with young talent wouldn't mind a third line checker. I don't believe that you have to give something up to unload him. Maybe if i put Hayes in that spot and buried Beleskey, you'd agree?
I would love to see Miles Wood and i think he doesn't stay down there long. Just the way Kuraly played in the playoffs earned him a spot for atleast the start of the year.
