bring our boy home
Rosy, Niku and Vesalainen are caught up in a logjam in the depth chart and aren't going to help the jets win a cup in the next 4 years which is realistically their window. Keith is old but he can still play and, with depth on the left side like the Jets have, can be effective playing on the power play and limited minutes. Plus having the veteran leadership that they lack will help in the room. I'd be fine with this as a jets fan

Toews- Stastny big package
If a Toews trade were to happen I could see Winnipeg as a potential destination but this package doesn't do it. If Chicago wants to rebuild around a center in his 30s they'll just keep Toews. I think if he were to move, Chicago would ask for Laine in return, and I don't think Winnipeg agrees at that price.

Get Toews keep Laine
Before the jets got stastny and perfetti I wondered if Toews could be their center solution. Itd be weird to see him anywhere but Chicago but he is a good Manitoba boy so the peg makes sense if he wanted to play close to home. It's probably a reasonable price to pay for him with all that salary retained, but I wouldn't want to give up that much. Connor is a money in the bank 40 goal scorer signed for long term at a good price and I'm not giving that up if I'm gm

A lot of thought went into this and it looks pretty realistic except for the Laine deal imo. The jets don't have to move laine cause they have his rights for a couple more years, and they only would for an obvious improvement to the team right now. Zucker would be their 4th best winger behind Connor, Wheeler and Ehlers, and that doesn't get you a developing power forward with 50 goal potential

bring him back to complete the line
You'd really want to bring in Jonathan Cheechoo for that 4th line rw

Laine
As a jets fan, this is the kind of return I would want for laine. I'm biased but I think unless the jets get a top pair defenseman plus some extras they will regret moving him. He's such a unique player with rare talent that with some refining and maturity can be a lock for 40 goals and 80 points for the next 10 years

I think winnipeg is in a pretty win now mindset, so I feel like laine only gets moved for something that helps them now, not futures, although Detroit's first next year is appealing. Laine larkin and raymond would be a deadly line in 3 years though

laine to boston
Any move involving laine would have to address the jets weaknesses at d right now. From what I understand Boston's left side D is sketchy at the moment and that's what the jets need. Debrusk is a solid top 6 guy but has a much lower ceiling than patty.

This will happen
The jets top 4 is fairly set on the right side, it's really on the left that they need to improve. They're likely going to move Roslovic and itd be nice to get out of perreaults last year for the space but I don't think New Jersey says yes at this price. They're closer to contending than last years results indicate, and severson will be more helpful to them than anyone they're getting back

Canadian three way
Tough to get the values right cause its such a cluster. The point is winnipeg gets out of some cap trouble and gives up picks and futures to ottawa for taking it for buyout or ltir. They get guys in Dermott and Engvall who are buried in the depth chart in Toronto and will have a chance to thrive. Toronto gets a legit scoring 3C in Anisimov so Kerfoot can play wing where he's most effective. They also get Stanley to add some of that good ol fashioned grit and size to their prospect pool. Ottawa gets a legit forward prospect and picks for taking on Winnipegs contracts, plus Rosen for some NHL level depth. Makes the most sense if Winnipeg uses this cap room to swing big on a top pair D

Even then it sounds like Bergevin wouldn't be willing to blow it up this year anyways. They could be scary in ~2 years with this return, their current core + Caufield and Romanov, given Price doesn't fall off any more.
