Trading for a center one big move
Not gonna happen. Lightning have enough D-man right now and Point is killing it at the moment. And with Charlie having a couple early injuries, they wouldn't take that risk.

Why Not Add Tavares
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gofnut999</b></div><div>need another forward. You are 1 short. Krejci has to go the following year.
At least send Backes to Vegas, they have plenty of cap space and a roster spot for him
Switch Donato and Heinen
JT is going to get 12 from someone</div></div>
I have no idea what team they would trade Backes too, but apparently some have interest. Arizona is just an example really. I like Heinen with Krejci and Bjork because it gives some defensive acumen to that line. Donato doesn't have that defensive instinct yet in the NHL and Bergeron/Marchand can carry that slack. Also with Donato's offensive instincts that line could do some damage. Bjork, Donato and a struggling defensive Krejci would be a risky move in my opinion but not unreasonable. And I agree I think Tavares will get 12 in the end. I was hoping not but I could seem him getting even more than 12 now.

bruins 20018
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bruinsdiehard</b></div><div>Based on what? Is there a team in the NHL capable of give Stastny 6M+/year? Sure? Is that a team Stastny would want to sign with? Highly unlikely. He wants to win a Cup, not max out on value in his next contract. And FWIW, Matt Cane's model has him only breaching the 6M threshold if he signs for 5 years or more. You think there is a competitive NHL team that wants to sign him to MORE than 6M/year until he's 37+? I understand wanting to crap all over this roster build, but the confidence with which you casually threw that in there lol - sorry I had to respond.</div></div>
If he wants to win a cup and take less than sure he won't get $6 mil. But players also want security and signing higher dollar and longer term in possibly their last peak years contract. All the players below are $6 mil and higher going until 36-37 years old.
David Backes - $6 mil over 5 years. Signed at 32. Had worse stats than Stastny
Ryan Kesler - $6.875 mil over 6 years. Signed at 31. Worse stats than Stastny but was a great defensive player.
Jason Spezza - $7.5 mil over 4 years. Signed at 32. Better stats than Stastny and was a better player.

Extremely Realistic
You have $3.7 mil in cap space. Why did you stop there?? You could add Auston Matthews as your 4th line center! lol

bruins 20018
No way this happens. Bruins are not in the running for Carlson. He is a great defenseman, but he is a right handed shot which we have plenty of right now. We need a LHD. Paul Stastny is great too but he will get more than 6 mil and Bs need that money for a top 6 sniper and will spend less than $6 mil on a 3C. Riley Nash will also at least be $2.5 mil/year. The Sabres trade is not happening. They are looking at shipping out O'Reilly so why would they trade away a top 6 player making $7 mil/ year and then trade for a bottom 6 player making $6 mil/year. Doesn't make sense. The Mcquaid trade doesn't work with Edmonton's need for a puck moving D but I could see Mcquaid getting traded somewhere.

Keep Nash ... Rick
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>Question 1: why does Rick Nash take a one year deal?
2. Why do the Bruins want Nash?
3. Why is kuraly taking such a cheap contract?
4. What makes you think donato is ready to play center?</div></div>
1. If Nash is interested in chasing a cup and doing it on a prove his worth kind of deal. Not sure he would take that deal but I wouldn't mind a 2 year contract for 4-4.5/per
2. Nash is still a talented player. Yes he needs to put more pucks in the net and not turn the puck over, but he is still great for our PP1 and using his frame to keep puck possession.
3. Kuraly put up 14 points. That is nothing. Yes his energy and defense can't be easily replaced but 14 points can be replaced.
4. Donato is a center naturally. He did well on face-offs when he had the chance. Whether he is ready for it in the NHL is up for debate. But we have other options if he doesn't work out

Bruins 18-19
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>So, do nothing?</div></div>
Only move I would try to make is to bring Rick Nash back on a team friendly contract. 1-2 years @ 3.5-4 million/year. But you are easily looking at spending over $15 million on the RFAs for 19-20. Gotta make sure we can lock up those guys.

Bruins lineup for POs as I would do them..
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SammyT_51</b></div><div>Yes. There would be nothing wrong with playing Nash on 4th. Remember how CBJ used Gagner. He played on 4th line and PP and played to his limits. Nash might be really the same. But realistically middle-6 position is for him.
I was also thinking about playing Donato as 3C, but that would risky for POs.. lineup would have been..
Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak
DeBrusk-Krejci-Rick
Heinen-Donato-Backes
Kuraly/Wingels/Gionta-Riley-Acciari</div></div>
Gagner and Nash are not good comparisons. Gagner is a power forward more like Backes dishing out some punishment but has enough skill to beat out most bottom 6 players. Nash uses his size for possession and to position himself to score first. Not a big hitter. In regards to Donato. He went silent against Tampa when it was a physical and high paced game. He might need some time to adjust in playoffs. Second line with Krejci isn't the place to do that. I would try him on the 3rd line with Heinen and Riley Nash. Riley worked well with 2 goal scores in Marchand and Pasta. Heinen and Donato are less experienced but have the skill to score. If it doesn't work then put Backes in his place. But if Backes can jump down to the 4th line than that would be a punishing line that could do some damage in the playoffs
Marchand - Bergeron - Pasta
Debrusk - Krejci - Nash
Heinen - Riley - Donato/Backes
Schaller - Backes - Acciari

Trade 88, 8/8 is way too much
This will never happen. Pasta is a lot but Bruins fans will explode if they trade him especially for that minimal return. At least get back a big name like Duchene in that kind of trade. This is a big step down for our lineup. I could see us in the bottom 5-7 teams in the league with this.

sign Pasta and make trade for Duchene
Like the idea. I think Pasta will be more around the $7.5 million range and I don't think Colorado wants Spooner. I have a feeling to get that done it'll have to be something like Beleskey, Debrusk, Zboril, and 1st & 3rd picks. For the lineup I hope JFK is ready but I don't think he is. So probably will be Vatrano - Spooner - Backes.
