Getting Creative- Trade with Jets

I just don't think he'll get moved because of that extra year. Maybe next deadline to a seller with cap space. Anyways, he'll be easier to move in February 2021 when he only has 2 months left of pay on his contract.

Because he's a Leafs fan who thinks Marleau's trade is the compromise every team dumping cap has to follow

Your logic:
Backes= 2 years, $6M Cap hit, can’t even play= less than a first.</div></div>
Leafs had to move that 1st, as they wouldn't of been cap compliant without moving a big contract, every team and GM knew that and had leverage on them to acquire that 1st. Bruins don't have that leverage against them, so they don't have to move a 1st, as they are currently cap compliant. Thus, moving Backes won't require a 1st.

I know this is from Jimmy Murphy but
Overpayment, Bruins don't desperately need to move Backes to be cap compliant (as was the case for the Leafs moving Marleau in the summer). They won't move a 1st to dump Backes.

So no, not good value for Drouin

Then a 2nd round pick too
Bottom line = Not worth it</div></div>
Let's make sure to requote properly: ''Mccann = conservative estimate of definetly at least 35 pts in a full year with crosby and guentzel'', i.e. he'll only get there playing w/ an elite center and a top 6 F.
Most player's individual stats follow their linemates, and McCann is an example of that if played w/ Crosby and Guentzel.
You put Drouin w/ those two and he'll crack 70+ points for sure.
Overall, Drouin for two bottom 6 Fs and a pick that has absolutely no guarantee to be an NHLer = not worth it for the Habs

A top 6 F or a top 4 LHD around his age (similar to the 1v1 we've seen for Weber/Subban and Domi/Galchenyuk), no picks added

Guys please give me feedback on these trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>moli92</b></div><div>I agree there is uncertainty, but even if this lasts for 25 years instead of 50 the pens still come out on top. the risk is minimized since the Rangers are the highest valued franchise in the entire league so I dont think they will be going bankrupt anytime soon. Its more likely that PIT goes bankrupt but thats still unlikely imo as they are just outside the top 10 in terms of franchise valuation. This would definitely set them back but after about 5-10 years of collecting double the 1st rounders they will be just fine.
This is all hypothetical though and I doubt the league would even let this trade happen (due to the likely failure of each team to become cap compliant and also due to the uncertainty of the future that you mentioned)</div></div>
Yeah, I was just pulling your leg.
I also think there's a limit to the number of years following the current season that teams can trade (say maybe 5 years max?)
Let's just say it isn't like the CHL, where they can probably trade picks that are currently novice players, thus being over 10 years younger than the players that are moved.

Not sure about that.
Will the Pens even get 50 1st rounds?
Maybe the Rangers organization goes bankrupt in the fall of 2020 because of poor economic choices by the owner, and no one will want to buy the organization because they won't want to touch the engaged dept.
Or, the other way, the Pens organization goes bankrupt and there are no buyers.
There's too much uncertainty with this trade.

Trades out of the Blue
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wqrrior</b></div><div>I guess people are losing faith in Fabbri. Perhaps I will make this trade if he shows stints of his value while not injured and given a chance.</div></div>
That's the problem w/ Fabbri, his big injury that cut an entire season. He's no longer the player that was coming out of junior, losing some development and thus potential, and the spots he could've taken w/ the Blues are being taken by younger guys, and he's being phased out of the Blues system. Same thing would happen in MTL, he'd just get phased out by the young guys in 1-2 years.
If he can manage to turn things around and regain some of his similar play from juniors, good for him, the Blues will have a good player. But currently, it doesn't look like that will happen, and he doesn't have much value rn.

The return just isn't worthwhile;
2 bottom 6 forwards and a bottom 10 pick in whatever round in 2021 doesn't incite to move a top 6 forward

Just wondering, is Aho really a center? Or are the Canes in a situation like the Habs, where they play a winger at 1C (Drouin, Domi) because they have no one else for that spot?
