Getting Creative- Trade with Jets
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brady37</b></div><div>I just don't think he'll get moved because of that extra year. Maybe next deadline to a seller with cap space. Anyways, he'll be easier to move in February 2021 when he only has 2 months left of pay on his contract.</div></div>
they can buy him out in the offseason save an extra mill on their cap next year by moving it to 2022. and it costs them ZERO in assets. no chance they send anything of real value back to move him.

Guys please give me feedback on these trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brady37</b></div><div>Not sure about that.
Will the Pens even get 50 1st rounds?
Maybe the Rangers organization goes bankrupt in the fall of 2020 because of poor economic choices by the owner, and no one will want to buy the organization because they won't want to touch the engaged dept.
Or, the other way, the Pens organization goes bankrupt and there are no buyers.
There's too much uncertainty with this trade.</div></div>
I agree there is uncertainty, but even if this lasts for 25 years instead of 50 the pens still come out on top. the risk is minimized since the Rangers are the highest valued franchise in the entire league so I dont think they will be going bankrupt anytime soon. Its more likely that PIT goes bankrupt but thats still unlikely imo as they are just outside the top 10 in terms of franchise valuation. This would definitely set them back but after about 5-10 years of collecting double the 1st rounders they will be just fine.
This is all hypothetical though and I doubt the league would even let this trade happen (due to the likely failure of each team to become cap compliant and also due to the uncertainty of the future that you mentioned)

Only time will tell. Ottawa doesn’t try to be something they’re not and we can’t see the future. EDM has too many whatever players that they want to be more than they are/ can be.

I’m pretty sure it’s because of the ties the Avs have made with Russian players and agents. They’ve become Washington of the West.

Interesting how if this was last off season, leafs fans would be irate at a Kadri-Domi deal. This offseason I’m sure it’s the habs fans that would want nothing to do with this trade.

Boned in lottery
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brady37</b></div><div>I guess they'll go a couple years with goalies who'll split the season about 50/50 until Knight would be ready, but yeah, drafting a potential #1 goalie makes sense for Florida.
How about Dustin Wolf in round 2 for Wings? Has great stats and learned from Carter Hart in the WHL, not really sure about his play because I've never seen him, but he could be a possibility for Detroit.</div></div>
I've actually thought about Wolf. Also the Russian, Kotchetkov could be an option as well.

Boned in lottery
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brady37</b></div><div>Bouchard's first year will be burned next year playing in the AHL, as he's a late '99 birthday (only way it won't is if he's sent to juniors to play an overage season, but 1st rounders who get signed to ELC's hardly ever play overage in the CHL).
Veleno's ELC can slide another year, but he isn't eligible to play the season in the AHL, he's still junior age next year (he got exceptionnal status and played in the Q at 15).
As for trades, Oilers say no, not enough value for Bouchard as they have high expectations of him as their future #1 RHD
Panthers say no, I believe they're looking into Knight as well for their pick</div></div>
I knew ;)

2023-2024 Hopeful Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brady37</b></div><div>It's only 1 game, don't overhype him too much
and for a 2023-24 MTL roster, Kotkaniemi has higher potential he could reach in that time span than Poehling.
KK should be the Habs' 1C at that point</div></div>
I don’t see KK being anymore then a 2nd line centre....Kotkaniemi was suppose to go anywhere from 10-15 in the draft until a good world junior performance with a stacked team and moved up to #7 spot. Poehling is pretty much PPG in the NCAA and MVP at the NCAA, He seems more smarter on the ice and more relaxed then KK, we both have different opinions but i’d rather have poehling as #1 centre

But drafting high has worked soooo well for the Oilers the last 9 years....

You would have to give to get rid of Sekera. Not a chance MTL gives a 2nd for him...

What is the gap between Hughes and Kakko
Hughes has more value, but the two could be equated to MacKinnon and Rantanen in Colorado. Both game changers, but if you had to choose one it would be Hughes/MacKinnon over Kakko/Rantanen

Value is very similar but Hughes is consensus #1 and a centre. I'd say LA would have to overpay and wouldn't do it. Maybe something like their second round pick and Campbell as the Avs may need a back up goalie to replace Varly next year, so it's going to be more than LA want to give up.
