Playoff Lines w no Lenny
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>All_Knowing</b></div><div>I actually think Mcllrath is a better matchup vs the Rangers compared to Iorio. Big, physical defensively minded defender - and we all know the Rangers can be quite soft. Let's get someone in there to take the burden of being physical off of our top guys (i.e., Wilson, Fehevary, Oshie, etc).
But I agree, Iorio was called up first so they probably will go with him</div></div>
Honestly I think that the coaching staff will recognize how well McIlrath played and give him a shot against the rangers. He will also take the Rempe burden off of Wilson.

Ovi’s best chance at being productive is with Strome. McMichael looked great between Pacioretty and Oshie, so I’d love to see them reunited.

Your proposal is fair value wise but I’d personally rather just hold onto him. Love Beck’s game.

I think that Kuemper will bounce back, but this is still a slam dunk for the caps imo. You could ask for their 2024 1st instead of the 2nd rounder.

Best chance lines vs boston

When he has been on the ice I thought he looked pretty good. Granted he is passing more than he should be and isn't shooting like he can, but he is still adjusting</div></div>
I think the puck finds its way onto his stick and he keeps finding ways to lose it. Kid is gonna be a force in a year or two, but his talent is so raw. Just needs to refine his game. This playoff run with the bears will be amazing for him. I’m excited to see how his offseason training affects his play next fall.

You underestimate what kind of power money has when persuading people. It would take more than 9M, but there's a number for everyone.

Yeah Guentzel would never want to go to a divisional rival... oh wait.
Well, Pens players have a history of not wanting to go to the Caps... if you exclude Niskanen, Orpik, Sheary, Sprong, Hagelin, Schultz...
Guentzel would take 7x11 with the caps in a heartbeat. He wants to get paid, he's got cups, and he'd be the top scorer on an up and coming team that has plenty of youth on the roster.

TVR, mid 1st and a late 2nd is one of the better trades I’ve seen on here. I’d say yes.</div></div>
Removing Milano and keeping the rest of the trade the same would be fine imo. I think Milano is worth a late second and he fits in well with the caps.

Leonard played wing this year but is also a center. It’s not crazy talk. You wouldn’t be talking about trading a 2nd overall pick for Leonard if what I’m saying is crazy talk. The caps decline this offer and as I said, they probably wouldn’t move him for Celebrini. This draft isn’t a Matthews - McDavid - Hughes type of draft.

Tkachuk
There’s some valuable pieces here but it clearly doesn’t get you Tkachuk. Ottawa needs Miro or Leonard to start the conversation. The caps don’t have pieces <strong>they’re willing to part with</strong> to acquire Tkachuk.

Chychrun trade I’d want to drop the second to a later pick but it’s pretty spot on for what Ottawa should want and the most the caps should give if they identify him as a target. He needs to be extended though.
Colorado is probably gonna want a bigger piece if they’re moving Colton. He’s a great middle six addition though.
Jensen you could move out for whatever. Holmberg would be a fine add especially if you’re getting rid of Dowd though.

Why? Leonard played just as good as Celebrini, just plays a different style. They’re both going to be stars.

I don’t know that the caps would trade Leonard even for the first overall straight up. That 2023 class was f**king juiced to hell, and Leonard is going to be in the NHL as soon as this coming week possibly.

Habs win Celebrini lottery
Don’t know much about Harris but his possession metrics are awful and Alexyev has been great since Edmundson was traded out at the deadline since he’s been getting consistent minutes. I think most caps fans would be more than happy to keep Alexyev in the lineup upwards of 90% of the time, meaning there’s not a real need for Harris. Especially not at that cost.

Offseason Tinker Toys
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BoringBrianMacLellan</b></div><div>Maybe downgrade Suzdalev to a Karabela or Hyland? I thought it was a bit of an overpay for sure, but to get a guy that I think could thrive in our system like Laine, I'd do it.
And for Toronto, my thought process was I know they'd probably rather have Jensen, but TVR is a mil cheaper which is huge for them. And he could pair nicely with Reilly I think</div></div>
I think it's just so hard to ballpark Laine's trade value right now. He's missed a large majority of this season and has been so up and down his whole career, but I swear he has the potential to pot 50 in a year in the right scenario. Maybe he meshes with McMichael or Lapierre and just lights it up. I can't see this offer being beaten out by anyone else. I think the 2024 1st and a low level prospect should be more than enough given his injury history and where Columbus is right now in their rebuild.

If I suddenly turned into HCSC
Confused as to why HCSC broke up McMichael and Protas when they were so good together with Mantha for so much of the season. You could probably run that Milano McMichael Protas line and get some real depth scoring going. McMichael looked good with Ovechkin, but the numbers weren't there. Strome is Ovi's center. I like this lineup you've suggested, but also wouldn't mind figuring out a way to get Miro some minutes too.

Keeping the Window Open

McMichael has recently been splitting some of his ice time by playing wing. I wouldn't hate to see him play 2LW if they were to get another center in free agency, but I think the winger market has higher end pieces. Agree that Duchene should be on the wing if they were to add him, but I'd personally want them to go bigger - get Guentzel or Reinhart if he's available.
