oilers top 15 prospects imo
I truly love their prospect pool. I think Broberg, Bouchard and Samorukov will all become NHL level d-men. Meanwhile, Benson, Holloway and Lavoie will fill holes on the wing and perhaps even allow RNH to center the 3rd line, which would boost the Oilers' offensive depth. As for the G, Skinner and Rodrigue will compete for their starter role and while they develop they have a good 1A/1B in Koskinen. They'll only have to find a replacement for Smith who now stinks.

I like the BOS trade, but I doubt they're willing to move first rounders at this rate. BOS doesn't look like a cup favorite this year, they're like the fourth best team of their own division and would certainly go to the playoffs as one of the underdogs.
Imo the value in the Flames trade is fine, but I don't see a huge need for a RHD in Calgary at the moment.

Sure, but I don't think Bruins could afford taking him without retention, which was one of the main reasons I moved him to Rangers.

Fixing Hollands Mess This season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SevenLeg</b></div><div><em>Chiarot trade: I understand the Canadiens are probably looking for a first-round pick for Chiarot, but I can't help but wonder if they'll bite on Tyson Barrie 1 for 1 (...) as they are still wanting to compete despite being last in the league.</em>
The only trade that could make sense for Barrie is either Armia or Hoffman, aka another player with term that wouldn't be super attractive on the trade market. Ben Chiarot can land valuable futures that are more beneficial to the future of this team than Barrie. And nothing suggests that they still want to compete despite being last place, players are automatically sidelined with very minor injuries, key veterans (Edmundson/Byron/Price) are not being rushed to come back, players miss games for very odd reasons (Romanov & Evans both missed time because their equipment was lost in travel or something like that), Dominique Ducharme is still employed). Actually, everything hints to the opposite, they're not looking to compete.</div></div>
I think he means that the team is still looking to compete next season, which BTW I agree with. I don't think we are going full rebuild mode just yet.

One can argue that Yamamoto, Broberg, Savoie and the first, minus one of the cap dumps, is the proper value for Chychrun. (I think it's a little short in light of what I'm willing to part with as the Los Angeles GM, but let's accept that premise for the purpose of this discussion.) That leaves the other cap dump plus the third for Crouse, which is clearly inadequate.
If you want to get rid of Koskinen (for cap purposes this season) and Kassian (for cap purposes in the future), it's going to cost you at least one other major asset just for Chychrun alone.

It'd be awful for them to do so. It's not very Jeff Gorton-esque either, as he was really committed to losing for a few years in NY.

Flames don't consider that. Not only is defense the last thing they need to add but that is a big overpayment for a pure rental

Would much rather get a 3rd for Tierney with no retention from someone else.
Not interested in eating over 3m for Edmonton and only being compensated by moving up a handful of places from late 3rd to late 2nd...

Not overly keen on Marody, we have a lot of guys in the C pool and have seen a lot of guys kill it in AHL and not come good in the NHL, Dylan Sikura immediately comes to mind from our perspective. Strome is probably worth a 2nd and 3rd currently however his value is at its lowest and it could be beneficial just to keep him.

tierney is worth a 3rd with no retention, and a 2nd with 50% retained. Turris is of no interest to ottawa, take him out of the deal and also take out the pick we’re giving up, tierney will most likely just get dealt for a single pick straight up

maybe drop the third to like a 5th and id do it as the sens but i dont really see the need to take on turris and retain 1.5m on tierney for only like 20 draft spots
