He is slow and sometimes looks lost out there. Was a healthy scratch I believe in the first part of the season. Did not look good.
His QO is 3.6m and it seems hawks don't like him at that price tag.</div></div>
He was a 20 goal scorer total between Arizona and Chicago the year he was traded. The early scratches and seeming slow is why they should hang on to him one more season as a prove it season. They should have more than enough cap space to keep him at least one more season.

With the amount a team has to give up to get DeBrincat and then pay him, I don't think they'll want to give up something else for Strome and then pay him too. People forget the hawks don't WANT to trade DeBrincat, they're just listening the same way they did with Hagel. Unless the offer is crazy they aren't trading him.

Well yeah, that's the obvious better option, but also the least realistic. I want them to trade Strome, but people saying he's walking for free is dumb.

It's just a double negative lol. I don't understand how a two time 20 goal scoring rfa at 24 years of age has little to no value and could walk for free. Maybe they should just re-sign him and let him get another 20 goal and 40-50 point season before trying to trade him.

I'm ok with the Flames and Sabres trades, but I'm not sure if they accept. The other trades aren't trades the hawks should make.

Hawks aren't not qualifying Strome. He's staying with the team unless they want to trade him in a hockey deal that helps the rebuild.

Hawks decline, Kassian is a cap dump, the 2022 1st is 29th overall, the 2024 first is likely a late first, and Puljujarvi will probably be in his 30s by the time the hawks are a playoff team.

That would probably be the better option, the Wild don't have much leverage right now. The hawks have no pressure to make a move unless they get a crazy offer like they did for Hagel.

Isles trade wonder if final 4 makes varly reconsider
I don't think the rumor of Strome not being qualified is true, he had 22 goals and 48 points this past season so I don't think they lose him for nothing. The qualifying offer is worth it for the hawks, and if they want to trade him, I'm fine with that too. Borgstrom trade is declined, it doesn't make sense for the hawks, and I think if the hawks change the way they use him, he could be good for them next season.

Im with Laz READ DESCRIPTION
I think the Toronto and Dallas trades are bad for the hawks. McCabe is worth more than that alone imo considering Khudobin is a cap dump.
As far as a DeBrincat trade, I don't think they even want to trade him, I think they are just listening like they did with Hagel and will do with Dach. The offer has to really "wow" them to consider. Seravalli is probably just assuming that they will get a crazy offer because some of the teams interested have quite a few attractive assets for the hawks.
If Ottawa is looking for a top6f and top4d for their 7th overall or something of similar value, do you think McCabe, Strome, and maybe another asset would be enough? Only if there is a specific player the scouts and Davdison really like at that spot of course.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FentonsSoilders</b></div><div>Ok I keep seeing all these trades for Debrincat and Fiala and it boggles my mind that Debrincat commands so much more than Fiala. I will say Debrincat is a very good player probably better then Fiala but I wouldn't think he is so much better that he gets a higher 1st rounder plus a 2nd and two more decent prospects more than Fiala. I dont know....I am sure people will rip the hell out of me for this but whatever...</div></div>
It's because the Wild may not have the cap space to re-sign Fiala or might want to trade him, so they're kind of in a spot. Or he could be offer-sheeted although unlikely with the salary he'll probably be asking for. With the hawks, they don't want to trade DeBrincat necessarily, but are listening to offers the same way they did Hagel. Only accepting a trade if the offer really "wows" them. Also he wont be an rfa until next summer, so the team wouldn't be in a spot right away like the Wild are.

Leafs Opening Night Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KingExLeafs</b></div><div>It is purely a rental. Leafs need to go all in this year. And for the Hawks, I'm sure they can get a package of younger players and prospects but if they're going to keep Debrincat then they need someone to play with him. And the Hawks can extend Nylander next year.</div></div>
If the hawks had a plan in place to flip Nylander in a 3 team trade it could work, but Nylander likely wont want to re-sign with the hawks and will be 30+ by the time they're a playoff team again. I don't think the hawks keep DeBrincat and after trading him, I think Kane requests a trade, but likely not to Toronto.
